Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Documents submitted by the Drees company does not reflect the deduction of the cost of carpet (full house) from the original cost, which included carpet. Page 4 of the document submitted by Drees shows a total cost of hardwood floors. No reduction for carpet.Drees company charged me to wire my house for cable & telephone. Wiring did not allow my cable company to install my services, because the cable jacket and phone jack was installed on opposite walls. A cable was installed (inside the master bedroom) by my cable company in order to provide some service. I did not see the charge or reduction/refund for this error.Drees company charged me for a home security system that did not include my basement window. I did not see the charge or reduction in price for this error. I was told that there would be an extra charge to install contacts on this window. I refused to pay more money to Drees so I had a glass block window installed by another company. Drees cut holes in my house to install 4 BULLET cameras I had ordered 2 dome cameras. An attempt was made to charge me for 4 BULLET cameras. When the DOME cameras were installed at a level that would allow anyone to reach up and touch the camera. The front camera was focused to view 4 houses down the street. Drees wanted to charge me to move and refocus this camera. Drees cut a hole over my front door for another camera. 2 Holes were cut over the rear door for two BULLET cameras (one over the other). Drees wanted to charge me to make corrections to these errors. Nail holes can be seen where the front camera was before it was moved. As late as May1, 2017 Drees wanted to charge to paint or replace plates, that were installed to cover these unnecessary holes, so that they match the existing color of the house. The 2 front plates are white the plate in the back is grey, the house is brown. Again Drees wanted to charge for this correction. SEE ATTACHMENTS. Drees and their contractor do not respond as professionals. At what point do I stop paying and being over charged for unqualified and shabby work. ---and -Complaint Response ID [redacted] Continued Inboxx [redacted]Mar 10 (3 days ago)to me It would appear that I was charged two different prices for "landing with steps". Page 6 of Drees response $1,800.00.and page 7 $1,200.00.

Dear [redacted],Please let this stand as a formal response to the above mention Revdex.com Complaint filed with your office from [redacted] on 5/21/2015.I was contacted by Ms. [redacted] in regards to the two issues in her complaint letter; 1. The HVAC system not working properly and 2. Cracks in the...
brick veneer on her home. Both issues have been addressed and resolved as of May 22, 2015. The HVAC system was repaired and a new evaporator coil was installed and charged with Freon. System is working and cooling the home now.Brick veneer had surface cracks and was inspected. The cracks appear to be from seasonal movement and not covered under The Drees Company 10-Year Structural and Foundation Warranty.Regards,[redacted]Customer Care ManagerWarranty ManagerSouthern Region

Review: Poor quality material and workmanship.
Per Drees warranty handbook, I sent a letter to Drees Homes, Manassas Virginia, requesting for consideration in repairing a section of a water damaged roof, cracked roof air vents, and major cracks throughout the gutter system on a 7 year old house. Drees warranty book states they have 15 days to evaluate and respond. I did not hear back from Drees on day 15 so I called to verify they received my letter. The site supervisor finally called me back and made arrangements to meet. The site supervisor stated they would not do anything about it because it doesn't fall within the limited warranty. Drees' likes to place the blame on the homeowner or Mother Nature. If something goes wrong it's the homeowners fault for not maintaining it properly or Mother Nature did it. Experts will tell you quality gutters and roofs should last on average 20 years. The good gutter companies offer a lifetime warranty on their products. Drees offers a one year warranty to seal cracks in gutters only upon request from homeowner...whoopee. What are the odds your gutters will leak after one year? Rotting plywood due to poor installation of shingles on a 7 year old roof should not happen. Even if the homeowner has the roof inspected yearly it would be difficult to detect this gradual yearly damage. To have sections of gutters replaced due to major cracks on a 7 year old house shows poor quality. Is it my bad luck to have purchased a flawed house because of poorly installed shingles that leaked through and rotted the plywood? Or is it poor workmanship on Drees' part? I should not be replacing the plywood on a roof after only 7 years. Drees Homes claim to fame is their 85 years of building quality homes. You would think after 85 years they would have figured it out on how to build a quality home with quality material and craftsman. You would think they would have it down to a science by now. Drees could have easily made the repairs at a minimal cost since they are still building in the area. Drees could have easily kept that all important customer relationship with a homeowner but the site supervisor chose not to. If their homes are so good you would think they would want to standby their work and earn customer loyalty. Drees needs to re-evaluate their quality control practices, materials selected, and contractors they are using. Their 85 years in the business should stand for something and not just a marketing ploy.Desired Settlement: The use of poor quality gutters and the poor workmanship on shingling the home should be covered by Drees Homes. Repairs will cost me $800.00 for a house that is only 7 years old. Drees Homes should cover this cost.

I am rejecting this response because it is a typical big corporation response to ignore the homeowner and the problems as mentioned in the complaint. This could have all been avoided if the site manager would have at least acknowledged my concerns and even though he couldn't do anything about it that he would at least share it with the quality control department as customer feedback. Instead the site manager began to lecture me on how it was my problem, my fault.

Review: A year after we moved into our house we notice cracks on the side of the house that have been causing a leak in the basement. Drees Homes came out several times to close the cracks. The last time they came out in 2011 they said they would come back to see how deep the crack was in the wall and temporally close it again and never came back. Just last week the basement flooded again completely ruined the carpet and the cracks have gotten bigger. We contacted Drees Homes again and they are claiming that this is not included in the warranty. After they have came out several time to do a job that would only temporally fix the problem. I told the lady on the phone that the warranty clearly states that the wall bearing is under warranty for 10 years and she said it depends on how big the cracks are and because they were not big enough that they were not covered under the warranty. The contract does not state this information. All it states is that the wall bearing is under warranty for 10 years. The warranty will be over in about 5 months and I feel that they are stalling and especially because they have dealing with my parents that do not speak english.Desired Settlement: This need to be permanently repaired and not just temporarily.

November 11, 2013
Dear [redacted]:
We received your letter dated November 1, 2013. We pulled up the file and history of this home.
While we do show a leak in this home back in 2009, it was from a frozen hose bib that was not winterized properly. Drees Homes does show a contact from **. [redacted] in September, 2011 and we made a site visit. During our inspection we did find a settlement crack in their foundation that allowed some water in during a heavy rainfall. We informed **. [redacted] that this type of settlement crack was not covered under his structural warranty. We instructed him what he needed to do, how to fix it, and even gave him the contact information of a contractor that could perform the repair. No further action was taken at that time by Drees Homes.
We were then contacted again in October, 2013 after 4 days of very heavy rain. [redacted], who is **. [redacted]'s daughter, called to state that the foundation leaked again and that it should be covered under the 10 year structural warranty. Our Construction Manager, [redacted], again inspected the home and found the same area leaking and no action or repair had been undertaken by **. [redacted] in 2011. We informed [redacted] of the visit in 2011 and again gave her the same contact information of the contractor who could perform the repair. We also informed [redacted] that the 10 year structural warranty covers the bearing capacity of the walls and this type of settlement crack is not structural.
[redacted] called back and insisted we fix the leak and that it should be covered under the 10 year warranty. We informed her verbally and in writing (at her insistence) that this settlement crack was not covered under the structural 10 year warranty, we gave her another copy of this warranty and again gave them the contact information of a contractor for these repairs.
I will be glad to discuss this report and situation with you and/or the customer. Feel free to contact our office at ###-###-####.
Sincerely,
