Hello,
I received a notice in the mail from Performance Portfolio Management stating that I was sent to Collections from Synergy Fitness of Garden City Park in the amount of $300. Please see my comments below.
1. I canceled my Synergy membership in July 2015. I spoke with the manager multiple times in June 2015 to cancel. In addition, I sent a letter to the address provided instructing Synergy Fitness to cancel my membership.
2. I have proof of payment for August membership for a transaction went through to Synergy Fitness of Garden City Park on July **, 2015 for monthly membership. They have not charged my credit card since.
3. The last time I went to this gym was in July 2015.
4. Nobody from Synergy notified me (via call, email or mail) looking for money for the since I canceled 6 months ago. The first I am hearing of this is a letter from Collections in early January 2016.
These people are crooks and thieves. I do not recommend. You will cancel your membership & then 6 months later you will find yourself speaking with collections. Shame on them!

Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by Synergy Fitness through phone or email regarding complaint ID [redacted]. [redacted], the stores manager has pulled me over on the street and told me "if I give him $200. He would make a call to...
collections and make it all go away." But he apparently cannot do that without the $200. Even though this was their mistake. Also collections has been trying to get in touch with this company as well for me and other people they have been pulling this scam on. And they have been unsuccessful as well. Thank you for your help in this matter. Sincerely,[redacted]
Today I went to court after being sued for a membership I canceled in 2013. Please if anyone who has formally complained to Revdex.com, on this site, has been charged for services they canceled etc. is willing to file an affidavit of what they went through it could really help me. Synergy played the exact same game with me! The manager was never around, always giving me the "someone will call you" routine and now 4 years later I am being sued for 2000.00 of services I canceled! I cannot think of any business who would do this to so many customers and get away with it. They paid 60,000 in fines and still get away with harassing innocent consumers? Please if anyone has information that can help my case I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
Review: I have not been a member of this gym for over three years, yet the business continues to try to collect a supposedly outstanding balance from me. I have furnished bank records to the gym on many occasions providing evidence of my payment including bank statements and other records that are not reflected in their system. Their collections agency continues to be unwilling to help me nor is the billing representative at the gym helpful in any way, relying only on what "the system" seems to say, which does not reflect past conversations I have had with this gym over the course of three years now. Every time I raise the issue I'm told it was in error and to disregard it, yet I still recieve intermittent collections calls. The business seems unwilling or unable to assist me and my needing to continually reach out to them every year to attempt to correct this issue is excessive and abusive.Desired Settlement: I would like the supposedly "outstanding" balance to be canceled and for these calls to stop.
Review: In December '12 I became a member after being informed that while the club was under renovation, I could use the club at [redacted] including steam room and sauna which I specifically requested due to [redacted]. After this was confirmed, I signed the contract and proceeded to go to the company's [redacted] location where I was told I needed special permission to use their gym (which additionally did not have steam or sauna rooms as I was told they would) from a supervisor at the location on [redacted] where I signed up. I attempted on several occasions to retrieve such a letter but was consistently told there was no supervisor available and when I called the number provided, never received a call back. I requested to terminate my membership in that same week (the week of December [redacted]). No one was available so they connected me to a supervisor who stated she would call me back and never did. I stopped going and stopped payments because no one returned my call. now they they reopened as of May, they have been calling me back requesting payments.Desired Settlement: I would like the charges they are calling me about to be dismissed as they did not fulfill their end of the contract and I would like them to stop harassing me on the phone.
