I was able to get in contact with someone on Friday, May 9, 2014 and discussed closing the accounts and receiving a refund. I was told to call back later that day or on Monday to check the status of this request. When I call, I only get the voicemail and have to leave a message. I did call Monday, Tuesday and today.

I gave this company my Name and telephone number via a Facebook post to get information on consolidating and lowering my student loan payments. I received a call almost immediately after hitting submit. I did not have time to talk...
right then but told the lady to call back another time. She called back a few days later and I told her that I was no longer interested in there services. This company continued to call at least every week if not multiple times a week. Today (02052014) I decided to answer the call again. [redacted] is the name of the lady that was helping me. I told her that I wanted to consolidate my loans into one loan and potentially lower my payments or keep them the same. I am not having an issue paying my student loans at this time. She asked some personal questions; SSN, Name, Length of time at job, annual income and spouse's annual income. This is where I got a little suspicious. I gave her an income that was actually higher than what it really is. She answered back saying "Wouldn't you say it's closer to $$$$$$$"? She was spot on. But how would she know my annual gross income? I continued on with the process and she offered to payment programs. 120 Payments / $124.43mo or 180 Payments / $83.60mo. $14,931.60 & $15,048.00 respectively. I only owe $10,505.78. I asked her why I would accept either one of those programs? She offered to email me some paperwork about the loans and I received a screen shot that I could barely read of the loans I currently have. Why did she send that? She was quick to get off the phone when I beginning questioning her. She asked me what my goals with my loans were. I said to pay them off, what other plans could I possibly have with them? She said I would be surprised?? Ok! Weird! I am not sure what this company is up other than trying to make a quick buck on someone who doesn't realize the loan terms. This is a scam.
We would like to know how we are making a quick buck. Our clients give us information so we can understand what student loans they are enrolled in. Their information is our information and we only "offer" what payment programs they are offered from the programs themselves. We ask what goals a person needs to reach to see whether they want to pay off loans faster or have no ability to shorten the payment cycle. This person can click the Control + button on their keyboard to enlarge their email screenshot and we would have helped him with this. We send screenshots when clients do not understand the difference between what they owe today and what their program reports as the total amount that will be paid. We should have asked if the client was computer savvy and will address this in training.

I was taken advantage of by this company. First they told me my payment would be $30.00 per month. Then come to find out that this is a monthly processing fee to go through their company on top of making my payment to pay for my student loans! And after a $550.00 charge to process a application which they never processed. Meanwhile I am thinking they are handling their business meanwhile my student loans went into default, and have now messed with my credit. I am unhappy with this company they will not refund my $550.00 for processing an application they never processed... This company is a scam and I will never refer my worst enemy to this company!! People consolidate loans to make paying them back more affordable how does this make it more affordable? With all the undercover fees they don't tell you about until after they already took advantage of you...

I was contacted by the Compliance Manager on Friday 9/26/14. He told me he would give me the refund that I had requested as stated in my complaint, he admitted to me getting poor customer service, but he tried to convince me not to close my account with his company. I explained that I was misled by his company into believing that they were a federal program that would forgive my loans, and that they charged me a ridiculous amount of money to consolidate my student loans when I could have done it myself through the Department of Education for free as I came to find out. The manager did admit that I could have completed the process myself for free but his company makes sure you get the best deal and re-consolidates for you yearly. I told him that I do not want the company's services and want my refund as requested. He then stated that he will have to call me back because the situation is " out of his hands" and he "thinks there's a form that has to be emailed to me." I have not heard back from this manager or the company by phone or by email. My complaint has not been resolved to my satisfaction.
