Hello [redacted]![redacted] and I resolved the issue and she assured me that she was going to delete the complaint and asked me not to respond to it. What do I do?[redacted]Office:(888) [redacted] ext.[redacted]Fax:(888) [redacted]3952 D Clairemont Mesa Blvd #307San Diego, Ca 92117www.studentaidinstitute.org
Not sure what the client's response is here. I've offered to refund more than the 6 months in a different email.
SAI performed the services it was paid to do and the client received a consolidation and repayment placement. I've offered to refund and have asked for the client to confirm that amount, which is far greater than what SAI would be required to do under the agreement the client signed.
I think the main confusion here
occurs when referring to us 'securing' your loan. I apologize for any confusion
but I would just like to remind you that we do not purchase the loans
ourselves, we are a third party company and guarantee that the work gets done.
As stated in the previous emails by my employee, [redacted] claims that your
loans had been in collections since 2010 and that you were fully aware of this.
If you had disclosed this information when you spoke with us on September 8th
then we could have approached your account in a much different manner. If you
log on to [redacted] and look at your loans, you will see that they were in
collections prior to. In November you had also stated that that issue had been
resolved. We try and put our clients first, so we continued to proceed with the
information that you provided. Your [redacted] account seemed to still be active so
we took your word for it.
After speaking with [redacted]
multiple times, we had concluded that you were in fact still in collections.
Yes, this was not confirmed until December but the only reason for this was because
you kept stating that the information was false. The moment that we confirmed
this information with [redacted] we acted on it and started the rehab program
right away. We did not fail, you simply just did not let us finish the
work that was being done. My employee worked very hard on this file and could
have finished if you had let her proceed."
Also,
he had SAI completely set up the rehab program and did not ask for the refund
until the work was finished.
On
January 23rd he was totally fine with all of this and he completely understood
the process from what I could see, so if you want me to send you some email
chains just let me know.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Please understand that, SAI did NOT offer to refund any monthly fees at all. They ignored tons of my calls and emails once the issue was bought to their attention. In fact, the only email response I got from their CEO, stating that they will not be able to issue a refund for me since I still qualify for loan forgiveness and they did succeed in lowering my payment. I still have the original email and can forward it to you as proof. In addition, I had to go to my bank and asked them to block SAI from their monthly automatic withdrawal since I asked SAI numerous times, over a month period, to deactivate my account once I discovered this faux business.
I want a full-refund back from SAI. This was not what I signed up. This is one horrible and repulsive agency, even at this particular moment they would still lie and state that they have tried to offer me a refund yet in reality no such peculiar gesture has ever taking place.
Regards,
[redacted]
I have reached out to client by phone and email with no response back. Our firm has been waiting on the client to provide the documents needed to submit the application for his consolidation. We have attempted multiple times to collect these docs and at no point has the client conveyed...
any concerns or displeasure with our service. I am here to assist him in any matter necessary to remedy the situation. We are still waiting for him to reply so that we can arrange to collect his docs and process his application. The client has never requested a refund from any of our employees. If he would have, the company would have obliged. I would like to hear from the client via phone or email and once that occurs, if he requests a refund, it will be given.
[redacted] CEO.
SAI was hired to assist in the consolidation and repayment placement for client. SAI performed and client received a $0 payment on over $222,000 in student loans. SAI also performed the re-submission that is required each year and the client was quoted a payment of $119. Client...
stopped monthly fee payment and SAI has offered to continue to work on the file and complete the re-submission process at no charge.

A sales presentation that failed to disclose key conditions of the offerI was withheld terms of the contract services until I paid a couple of payments for the services. I was not told I need to give power of attorney for my loans until after the fact I was signed up.I was getting hassled for a while to give them w2 documents and power of attorney and I was not willing to give them that when I found out I had to. I recently emailed the sales person about terminating my contact with them and everything was smooth. Then she said she had to run my request for a refund by her CEO and she would give me an answer. She emailed me back the next day saying my request was denied. I paid close to 250 dollars for services I was never able to receive. I believe it's only right I am refunded what I spent. I would like to solve this issue with as little hassle as possible.
[redacted]
I spoke with [redacted] and discussed her concerns. SAI issued a refund of her partial enrollment fee. SAI sent an email confirming the cancellation of her file and confirming the refund. [redacted] has my contact information and I've offered to advise and assist her with any help she made need in regards to her federal student loans.

I recently put in a complaint against the Student Aid Institute I would like to rescind that complaint against the company I have talked to them and resolved my issue with them myself. [redacted]
Revdex.com:
I agree with some parts of the reply but a few points are flawed. I have attached a screen shot of the person I have been in contact with and his name definitely is [redacted]. And I have spoken with him no less than 3 weeks ago. I tried to get the point across that I did not want to do business with this company any more but all he would do is pitch more information and tell me I should just go along with the plan. There is obviously a breakdown in communication in this business since I was supposedly dealing with a woman advisor. The main reason I would like to cancel services and ask for my refund is that the services pitched to me and the services I have received are 2 different stories. Before I had paid any money there was no talk of giving you guys power of attorney or access to my w2s. I do not wish to talk with anyone else about the situation because I know all they will try and do is talk me into keeping the account open. I just wish to receive my full refund and go about paying my loans the regular way. Thank you very much for hearing me out.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.See email thread disputing Student Aid Institute's (SAI) claim that they fullied their end of our orginal agreement. It's very clear they failed to secure my loan and it took them 7 months to figure out that they could not help me. During the [redacted]e SAI was trying to gain my business [redacted] was able to secure it out from under them, once that happened SAI had no way of helping me or setting up any program with me. They denied my refund fully aware that they were not able to help me on establish a repayment plan. My loans also fell into collections during the [redacted]e I was working with them, so having to set up a rehabilitaion program is partially SAI fault. See email thread below for more details
You
did not do anything on your end to secure my business with your company. Now
you are telling me that you manage loans, which is misleading from all
our other correspondence we have had. Your company failed at attempting to
secure my loan as originally agreed to, [redacted] achieved what you intended
to do. Consolidation, which is what I paid for with a guaranteed of service,
Establishment of a program or my deposit would be returned. Your company was
unsuccessful in this and now you are legally obligated in returning my deposit.
Your claim to what I hired you to do is false, as stated on your website and in
previous emails “We provide federal student loan processing services. Our team
will work with you to find a viable solution to your student loan debt. We will
help you identify the most appropriate program based on your unique situation
as well as assist you to fill out all the required program paperwork. Our job
is to help you maximize your savings and ease the burden of the entire
process”. Your company was not successful processing my loan or setting
me up with a program.

When we
spoke I did not know my loan had recently been placed in collections by [redacted].
When we started discussing [redacted] you said that [redacted] still had my loan
and that it was not in collections. Also this statement is false: “[redacted]
also informed me that you yourself have started and stopped rehab programs with
them in the previous years, and you were fully aware that they were in
collections since 2010”. I had two loans that were
placed into rehab and I satisfied my obligations and they are paid off, I
started the program and finished; I never started and stopped. So being in
collections since 2010 is a false statement, which you should know as well
since my loans were with [redacted] prior to contacting you.
I am
requesting my enrollment fee back due to the fact that your company was not
able to secure my loan. When I get out of rehabilitation we can take another
look at my options with your company. I am a little confused on why your
company thinks it can hold my enrollment fee when you did not secure my loan?
100% guarantee is in effect and that money is better served in my account
drawing interest.

[redacted],
When a
client first calls in, the agent always asks if the loans are in
collections. This is for many reasons, such as: 1. It is significantly more
work (usually 5-9 months) to get them back in good-standing 2. We tend to
charge more because of this reason. 3. It allows us to know exactly how to
approach the file from day one.
We
also always look at [redacted] to verify the loan amount and who the servicer is and
there is where we saw that you were still with [redacted]. The day you paid the
enrollment fee, I submitted your consolidation application. Because of this, I
did not even think that you would be in collections because a consolidation
normally takes 3-4 months to go through and you told us that your loans were in
repayment and not in collections. Navient themselves stated that the
consolidation was still processing and that is where I received the information
that I relayed to you.
As soon as I confirmed (I did not want to act
on just the fact that you got a phone call because it could have been a scam
and it could have cost you a lot of money if it was not true) that you actually
were in collections, I made sure to get you started in the rehab program as
quick as I could. [redacted] also informed me that you yourself have started
and stopped rehab programs with them in the previous years, and you were fully
aware that they were in collections since 2010.
I spoke with
my CEO and he stated that if I cannot consolidate your loans after they are
out of collections then he will refund your enrollment fee.

have documentation showing that you said it was still in processing and things
looked great. I will stick with [redacted] during the rehabilitation process,
once I am clear of that we can look at other options. Until than I am
requesting my $450.00 back due to the fact that your company was not able to

Hello Mr.
[redacted],
I
was forwarded your email requesting for a refund. We are still able to help you
with your loans, we were just never informed by you until recently that you had
previously started a rehabilitation program. We spoke with [redacted] for you
and sent in your new rehab application to them. As long as you stick with the
rehab, your loans will be out of collections in 3 months and your consolidation
that we have previously submitted will still get pushed through. We are
definitely helping with you, but unfortunately we need to wait 2 more months
until they are out of collections and back with [redacted].

I responded to an email that was sent to me. My email went out on 8/15/14 at 4:34 pm. If the conversation that my husband had with the business was indeed recorded like he was told then they will hear that my husband clarified that he didn't literally mean blow up a building but to expose how they scam people. We are not violent and we are good hardworking busy parents. But again my husband was told at the end of the conversation that the conversation is being recorded so its there in the recording that he clarified what the expression meant.
As stated before, SAI has never advertised on the radio. But in the end, that has no bearing on this situation. We have attempted multiple times to collect the documents needed to submit the client's file. We have been working with the client for over 1 year. Client has promised to give us the docs needed and then does not follow through.

Student Aid Institute advised me more than once that they were operated by the Federal Government and never once was I told SAI was a third party. They did not receive an email from me saying I was thankful or satisfied and I would like to see this. They did not reach out 15 times and I have been nothing but cooperative and polite. In fact, SAI had a huge lack of professionalism due to false information and a lack of communication with in their departments. For example, I was told I was having services cancelled and then [redacted] with a different outcome saying its fine and this was not the case. After I cancelled via phone with [redacted], a week later I received an email from Bonita saying "You have three days to get in touch with Student Aid Institute and failure to do so will result in cancellation" This was after my discussion and cancellation of services.. [redacted] told me that I would save 350$ monthly and in actuality this was not the case. I was paying the same amount in total. This was a huge concern for me. I held off and tried to voice my concerns and had no response on their behalf unless it involved collecting more money from my account. I called [redacted] to discuss these concerns at length and he had no problem telling me that everything was fine and I would need to make more payments. As soon as I advised [redacted] I would not be proceeding with SAI he got very upset and was not able to assist me in anyway and only spoke about Sallie Mae and how bad they are trying to invoke the fear in me once more. This is not acceptable, I work as a Social Worker and do not make my money in unethical ways and neither should SAI. This is wrong and I pray and hope SAI stops taking money from innocent hard working individuals that can be used to pay off their actual debts.

SAI took on this client in April of 2014. WE made 15 attempts to collect the documents needed to submit her consolidation. In June we received an email from the client stating how thankful she was to have SAI working on her behalf. At no point did she request a refund and disclose...
her concerns. SAI has made every attempt to perform on the client's behalf and has received no cooperation. SAI does not claim to be apart of the Federal Government. We are a third party, independent processing firm that handle the submission process for it's clients.
My name is Alisha [redacted]. I went through these people because I wanted to do a forgiveness of debt on my student loan. They stated that I had to pay them $450.00, which this would go towards my student loan. I paid them in installments form October 2014 until January 2015.I am totally not satisfied with anything that these people have done. The money did not go towards my student loan. The lady later stated that the money was for a service fee that I didn't know anything about. Then they changed their number. After called Fed loan services about my account, which I didn't know that I had until I tried to create an account. I found out that they people at the student loan institute created an account for me and was not planning on giving me my user ID or password. She stated that, that's how she was able to keep track on my account. But I didn't have access to keep track of my own account. Is that even legal, to create an account for someone without them knowing. I was totally upset at the fact that they made an account without my knowledge and was keeping my user ID and password from me.
I think that these people are a fraud.
I feel that these people owe me my money in the amount of $450.00.
All of the information that they gave to me was a lie. I am totally not satisfied with these people at all.
I hate that I ever worked with these people.
I am no longer working with the Student Aid Institute and requested that they remove all my bank account information from their system and stop the automatic payments. They did not. A payment was deducted from my account the next month.
I have called twice and gotten only voicemail as well as emailed on several occasions that I need my bank account information removed from their system. I have requested a refund be given based upon this transaction and that all future payments not be automatically deducted. No response.
If there is something further that I need to do to stop these automated transaction, they are not providing me with any kind of guidance for what I need to do in order to stop these automated transactions. I’m not getting phone calls back, and emails are now not being responded to, so I need to take this to the next level.
I had a positive experience up until I decided I no longer needed/wanted to work with them…now it’s been ridiculously poor service.
Review: I contacted student aid institute, they began to take out monthly payments in January and February though I had not sent them any documentation back. I called and told them I don't want their services, I am working with my state financial aid to resolve my debt. They responded by e-mail informing me they were closing and shredding my account. I asked in return email about a refund and they replied their would be none. I emailed back to inquire why and never got a response back. My voicemails go unanswered. I asked if they could take out bank fees and return the rest or at least apply it to my student loan balance. I get no response. I feel that I have not used any of their services and would like my refund.Desired Settlement: I would like a return on the money they took out my account $600.00 or at least applied to my student loan balance. (Preferably a return).

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
This is to inform you the SAI institute has now refunded all my money. I appreciate any help you have been in getting this corrected.
