Our experience with Steve's Plumbing was nothing short of AWESOME. We did experience an issue which involved a misunderstanding with a certain sales representative but that was resolved expeditiously thanks to Chris on Maui and Rachel . Maka and Mike and their entire crew completed a huge job in our home without interrupting our daily living. Not only did they complete this job with minimal disruption, they were friendly, professional and very patient with our questions and concerns. The issue we had with this certain sales person could have been extremely unpleasant without the much appreciated help from Maka...who not only did the physical job but also helped iron out a billing issue. I also have to commend Rachel who also went above and beyond making sure we were satisfied. Thank you all for a job well done......and thank you Maka for always being available when we called and for making sure EVERYTHING was good before you left. You are a very dedicated worker and an asset to this company.

Work was satisfactory, billing at $300+ an hour for 2 hours of labor was not.
Two jobs in two different showers: (1) a leak (2) no cold water). Worst case estimate involved cutting tile or cutting into sheetrock with an approved estimate of around $1,500. Neither of these extreme fixes were required. Job (1) was labor only. Job 2 required a mixer cartridge that retails for around $56.
Worker was on site approximately 2 hours. Dispatch fee of $49.95, part retails for $56. Total bill was $843.93 leaving a 2-hour labor charge of $737.
Although the worker promised to provide an itemized breakout on the final e-bill, after two weeks I did not have an invoice and called Steve's Plumbing Service 2. I requested an itemized bill and was told they do not, and will not, itemize job costs and only provide a “total job cost”. Apparently since the original estimate was so high, the technician felt he could charge $300 an hour for labor as long as it was less than the original charge. Final bill also came with a pre-authorization statement to “proceed with work at a flat rate of $843.93.” Obviously that is not possible since that figure did not appear until after both jobs were complete and technician worked up the final bill. Receptionist asked if I wanted her to put me in touch with technician over what he promised and didn’t deliver. I said no, that’s your job.

From beginning to end, my experience with Steve's Plumbing was very reassuring. Lyle and Austin came first and listened to what we said and then prescribed a solution with the price. They were very knowledgeable and personable.
Maka then arrived to do the work and he too was knowledgeable and personable. He also was respectful and professional.
I liked how they were organized and that they had a process to do the work.

Super prompt and professional. Had a clogged drain outside our house and Maka and his crew knew exactly what to do to fix the problem. Never once felt like I was a burden. Maka super nice and spent time explaining to me what he was doing as he was doing it, and he didn't mind my incessant questions. I will be using these guys for future problems (hopefully not many) and would recommend them to anyone looking for prompt and reliable service. Thank's Maka and Steve's Plumbing!

My wife informed me of a small leak in our 1st floor toilet room. I was not a constant leak but one that was randomly occurring. I figured it was time to change the wax ring (seal) at the base of the toilet. I went to Home Depot and purchased a ring and went to work on this simple fix. As I began to remove the old wax ring, I noticed the flange (sealed to the main PVC pipe) was broken. I did some research and quickly realized I did not have the tools to replace/repair the broken flange and that a professional repair ranged between $200-$450. After a yelp search, I decided to call Steve's Plumbing. They quickly arranged a house visit to assess and begin repairs. During the visit (by one of the managers) they began to explain to me that the reason the 20-year-old flange broke was because it was sealed on wet concrete and over time (20 years) the uneven flooring caused the flange to break and to properly repair they need to not only cur the flange off (the original request) but they need to drill the old concrete up and repour new concrete (ensuring it fully cured level) before resetting a new flange. That process would take 2 days and cost $2000. Shocked but convinced I agreed. The next day, the plumbers arrived and began working. After about 20 min, I walked over to offer something to drink and noticed they had already begun installing a new flange. Surprised I questioned and was informed that there was no need to drill and pour new concrete. Relieved I said, "awesome, I can use the savings for the approaching holiday season". At that point, they offered me a $200 discount off the $2000 bill for what was now a $500 (TOPS) job. I immediately called their office and complained. A day later I received a call and was informed that I would only be charged $500 (plus tax): still on the high end; and to expect a refund to my credit within 7-10 days. Patiently, I waited. Today is day 10 and no refund. I called and was informed it had not been processed yet and that a note would be left for management (who was out until Monday). I share this information to anyone considering using Steve's Plumbing. If you have expendable cash that you don't mind throwing away or loaning this company until they feel comfortable returning, then this company is right for you.
I also encourage any potential customer to research costs for reference.

Complete rip off! 0830 appointment that they called me (when they were instructed to call my tenant) at 0810 to tell me my appointment was cancelled. Rescheduled for 3-5pm. Called me at 520pm (still not at residence). Charged me a service fee $52.30 and $394 to install a faucet. Literally a 30 minute job. Of note. Physicians in this state with doctorate degrees don't make that hourly rate. Absolutely, the worst value for service I've experienced!

My toilet was repaired and for the part and labor I was billed $262.00. I did agree to the price, but at the time of the agreement I did not know that the part being replaced was listed on ***'s website for $18.99 (Part # ***). The repair took less than an hour, so I feel the labor cost was excessive. I paid well over $200.00 for the labor to install the part! I don't know what the hourly rate is for a plumber, but it can't be that high.

I am rejecting this response because:I do not believe I should have to pay more than $200 in labor for an hour of work. $262 - 18.99 for the part = $243 labor cost for an hours work. Steve’s Plumbing does good work. It is fixed after one visit, but I can’t see how they can justify this labor cost. They can keep their 10% discount. I will never use them again.

Very bad experience, I have been fleeced. I called to have a water line break fixed. Worker glued the pipe fittings and turned the water back on prematurely resulting in his work getting undone. He repeated this scenario for TWO days insisting that the bond had set! Finally, at 5:30 on Day 2 it held but, alas, a section just a couple of feet away- on the same pipe- had been overlooked. Worker was a nice, young man but obviously incompetent.
I had to call another, this time a licensed plumber, who cut out everything that Steve's guy had done, and started over. It was done in 3 hours!
STEVE'S PLUMBING SENT ME A BILL FOR $1600 PLUS TAX!!
I am taking them to court.

I DON'D GIVE THEM ANY STAR !!!
A few days ago, we had noise in the rental house toilet in Hawaii. Our tenants
contacted the STEVES PLUMBING SERVISE company. They didn't elaborate on what they did for more than $370.We were surprised to see the bill. Call them and ask them how much they charges for an hour and how much they pay for the parts? They replied that they are not charged according to time and are charged according to job. We really don`t understand how they valued to eliminate toilet noise for more then $370.So they will ask for the price at just they want ! !
They don't want show how many hours worked and did not show receipts for parts. It’s strange that such a big company is actually collecting money indiscriminately!
I contacted them. They always used an excuse not to answer the phone. In the end, they only gave a 10% discount and still charged more than $340.
Do you think it is reasonable to pay $370 for repairing toilet noise?
Do you trust in such a company?
I don't know who is working my house. I just put a person’s name, otherwise I can’t pass the review.

Mahalo to Lyle & Audie for the excellent service provided, they were awesome! Would not hesitate to call Steve's Plumbing Svc again if needed. They politely answered all my questions & concerns & went about their task in a methodical & professional manner.

Excellent, professional service. Aaron, Audie and Lyle arrived promptly (they email you and call to say they’re coming) and all work was explained clearly upfront so there were no surprises. Our plumbing issue was resolved in a timely manner and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended.

I had a plumbing work to be done. Apparently, it is still undone because Steve's Plumbing gave me the run around and I was not given respect as a paying consumer. Plumber, left his cable down my drain pipe and it took several attempt to have it completed. Because cable is stuck, plumber must cut pipes and walls to get the drain free. Also, a neighbor's home need to be entered to fix my drain. Neighbor needed a letter from Steve's to assure all work will be carefully clean and tidied up as if no open seam of hole cut to reach my troubled drain pipe. I followed protocol to get my plumbing repair complete. I used my credit card to pay for the complete job and never got a decent proper call to say work will continue. I was put on a 4 plus wks hold to get a simple yes or no. I needed to find out if plumber Martin could return on a Saturday because that was my only free time to be at my Condo. I waited and call many times and not return call, until I got fed up and called. I month was wasted to work on my repair. Martin put cable into the drain and it got stuck so he had to cut the cable with sparks flying in front my eyes. Safety was not done properly, to alert me of what Plumber was going to do. He cut the cable with a saw and then left to return with a new cable and trying to pull the cut cable out. Before he cut the cable I asked if he need to use a camera to see what was down the drain. Instead he shoved and pull the cable, until it could not move. A second plumber came after I complained about 1st plumber and his lack of knowledge. Ken came on a Saturday and checked out the repair. It was worse than expected. Prolong the job was until I made some noise about why taking so long to contact me. It ended up where a false invoice was sent to me with a signature from October 29, 2018 was found on the new invoice dated 5/13/19. Two same identical signature on a invoice that was suppose to be the original that got lost. Can't go any further no space.

I understand there were some scheduling issues due to one of your neighbors recovery after surgery (I hope she is doing well). We are unable to meet your request for compensation of lost wages and rent, however, we will commit to the following requests asked in the letter dated May 3, 2019Complete necessary repairs to drain and remove broken section of cable for a fully functional and free flowing drain that is water tightComplete sheet rock repairs and painting in the 2 area's of both neighbors where Ken has cut one hole, and the other we will need to cut for completion of pipe repair & broken cable removalI will draft a letter neighbors stating we are responsible for repairs to sheetrock and painting of access area's. This letter will also include the promise of keeping all work area's clean, neat, and tidy during all phases of repair work.I will provide you with copies of all invoices and payments on file associated with this property.Please provide me with direct contact information of your neighbors so we can coordinate access and your availability. I understand you are available only on Saturdays, please confirm this is still correct. I want to finish this for you and truly believe we can make this right if given the opportunity.
