Stanton Optical Reviews (44)

Wow I wish I had read the reviews before I ever visited Stanton Optical. I agree 100% DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. They not only lied about the $69 dollar deal (that ended up costing over $100) but the glasses broke after the second use and they want to charge me more to replace them! I called corporate and they are even worse. Maybe someone should tell Ms. [redacted] on the commercial. She use to be our local news anchor and I believed her ad. Shame on Stanton. [redacted] I am coming back!

I purchased two pairs of glasses at Stanton Optical in Albuquerque, NM. One of the lenses in one pair was defective. I returned the glasses, was told they'd be ready within the week. I went back more than a week later, and they were not ready. As I sat there, they put the lenses into the frame scratching it. After I pointed that out, I was told to pick our another frame. I told the her that she'd need to go get another frame as I had business to take care of. She found the same frame, and had the lenses put in. The sides of the lenses looked like they'd just barely been done, with no finish. The employee then told me to take them back within a week, and she would ensure they were done correctly if I had problems with them. I had my parents take them back for me as I live two hours away from Albuquerque. I then received a phone call from my son that they had no intention of making things right unless I paid 20% of the lenses. The woman who told me she'd be there, [redacted] was not available, and she failed to write anything on the notes in my file. I am very disappointed, and do not appreciate being "sold" a product that is not and [redacted] not be useful. My mother has also had problems with this business, and they have refused to make her product right, as well.

I certainly do not have anything good to say about Stanton Optical. I started the eyeglass exam and purchase in February 2014. Today is July 7, 2014, and am still waiting on a good quality product. In February 2014, I ordered a pair of regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses (prescription). The first two pair of glasses were made wrong. Measurements were not correct according to the directions the laboratory received in the first place. Waited another 2 weeks. The glasses were sufficient. About 2 months after my purchase I noticed how scratched up my regular pair of glasses were. They looked like they were abused and about 3-4 years old. I had only had them for 2 months. I went into the store and was informed that I should take better care of my glasses. I can assure you these glasses are either on my face or on my night stand when I go to bed. I do not treat these like junk. I take very good care of my glasses as they are my eyes. I also only clean them with Bausch and Lombe glass wipes. So, I nowhave to leave the glasses to have them replaced. I explained to the technician that I am legally blind and have to have my glasses. So I picked out new frames and was told the new glasses would be back in 2 weeks. After 3 weeks, I went into the store in Omaha NE on Dodge Street and was told the glasses were never ordered. The new technician informed me that the anti-scratch coating was defective. There were also little bubbles in the lens itself. She placed a new order 3 weeks ago. So, again, today is July 7, 2014, I went in to get my new glasses to find they are not correct. The technician informed me the laboratory made a -2 instead of a -4, which I have no idea what that means. But she was letting me know that yet again I do not have my glasses. This is ridiculous. I have never seen such a business. I [redacted] never ever go back to Stanton Optical. I want a full refund. I will go someplace else to get my new glasses.

went in for the 2 pair of glasses & free eye exam for $69. that does not include the lenses which could cost over $200. wont be going back

Extremely poor service on a continuous basis. I have been a customer of theirs since they first opened in Roseville and I wanted to support new business coming to our town. Over the years, the frames have broken and have needed repairing. I am also tired of them trying to sell me on an eye exam as well...

Four years ago, I purchased two pairs of glasses (I only need to wear them at night to drive, not very often). I have had to take one of the pair of glasses to be repaired 3 times. The first time, not a big deal, waited a long time, but that is typical of this store. The second time, which was just over this past summer, I took the pair in once again to be repaired (again, I hardly wear these). I stood and waited and waited and waited while I was finally called for my turn, then I wait for at least another 45min to an hour for the technician to fiddle with them and fix them. Never fixes them. I told him that I did not have time to wait and to please call me when they are fixed. A week goes by, never hear from anyone. I finally call, a woman manager tells me, "Oh, yes they are fixed, come in today!" I get there, and of course they are not fixed!!! She never even checked. Then they couldn't find the glasses! Finally they located them in the original technicians pocket! Really???

Then just a few days ago, they broke again! I go back and wait, wait, wait. I can not wait too much longer, it was my only day off. I finally ask a man if I can leave these to be fixed and call me later please. He says, "Oh these can't be fixed, these have to be soldered and we don't do that. But go across the street to Fast Fix at the Galleria and they will fix them at no cost, we have an under-written agreement with them." So, here I go to Fast Fix, the manager didn't know what the heck I was talking about and tells me they have no such agreement and that it would cost me $49.95 to fix them!

I go back over to Stanton Optical (still, my only day off) and tell the man that I spoke with earlier what the Fast Fix store doesn't have such an agreement and that they would charge me $49.95! He proceeds to look up my original order and finds I ordered the pair of glasses in 2011 and that I purchased a 2-year warranty, but that it is no longer valid because it is 2015! Now mind you, I wear this particular pair only at night to drive, may once or twice a week, if that.

He is arguing with me and won't have the glasses fixed! I finally get completely fed up and leave the store, leaving my glasses with him!

The right thing for him to do would have been to call Fast Fix himself and get the glasses repaired for me or send them out to be repaired! Extremely poor customer service, I [redacted] never buy another pair of glasses there again.

Every single time that I go into this store, someone is complaining about the service, the long wait times and the quality of the product. I am not joking, every single time there is always an issue.

I ordered sun glasses about a year and a half ago, the arms on the frames are cracking, it's ridiculous. I will not do business with this company ever again.

The worst business ever!!!!!! I got my eye exam on 4/30/2015 and today is 6/11/15. I have been to the store 4 times and have been lied to every time! I have called them now more then 30 times and have called there corporate offices 4 times!!!!! Still I don't have my contacts or glasses! I even gave them a deposit! They suck!!!!!!! Time to sue!!!!!!

..I purchased a special that was advertised on national television. two pair of no line bificals and a free eye exam for $99.00 this was done on 07/09/15 after my eye exam I sat down wit a "manager" to complete my order after I picked out my two frames. she was pleasant at that moment she began typing and then turned to me and said you owe us $187.00 I said I came to purchase the $99.00 special. at that point she got up and yelled to her employees that it wasn't fair and she then told me that they were not participating in that sale. I was also told by the general manager the same thing. I have called the store several times only to be told we will call you when your glasses come in.one time I went into the store because I was in the area to check on my purchase. I was asked by the technican why I chose just to come in. she said not to do that. they would call me.even the general manager told my wife and I that they were not honorind that commercial. I called the coroperate office only to be told they would try to send my order in about 10-15 days. this was 07/04/15 also the person was very rude on ansering any of my questions. the general manager said he was sorry about the whole issue but he could not control the issue. these people are very unprofessional. .

10/20/16: I had heard the special Stanton Optical was offering for 2 glasses for $69 plus a free eye exam. I made appointments for my 3 children by phone. We had gotten to the Optometrist 's office and the technician was doing front desk and exams. She had complained about not having a day off the past 3 weeks. I tried to put her in a good mood. She was rushing through the eye exams and then told us to go to see the Optometrist. When we got in the room, we had questions and asked the Optometrist. He ignored us and did not address us at all. We then paid the technician and then went to the frame displays in Stanton. We asked the sales people where were the 2 for $69 frames. He pointed out some frames in a case in the back of the store. We went to see the case and there were only 10 frames to choose from. I asked the sales person when they would be getting more of the frames 2 for $69. He said they will not be getting more in. I told him the frames they have for the special are ugly and out-dated and that is why my children chose other frames. I told him that the special was misleading and I will go and get frames from another eye wear business. The Manager then stepped in and gave me another special of buy one, get one free. I was reluctant to take it due to the unprofessional and unfriendly treatment from the Optometrist. When I received the automated call the order was ready, I picked it up. My kids tried on the new glasses and said their vision appeared crossed-eyed and skewed. I then went back to tell the Manager about the experience with the Optometrist and the glass order being incorrect. The Manager said he is not authorized to give a refund on the eye exams due to being a medical visit?! I then asked him for a refund on the glasses due to their error. He said the order was correct. I told him if the glasses were correct, my kids could see through them. The Manager was giving me the run around and I told him to stop that talk and give me the refund for the glasses, which he did. He said I can call customer service for a refund on the eye exams. (XXX-XXX-XXXX) I have called them twice so far for a refund and they said that they are not authorized to give refund and cannot due to it being a medical visit. (same old line; this is how they train their employees to talk and act like car salesmen!) I had requested to speak to a Supervisor, but each customer service representative said this is not a corporate office and there are no Supervisors present and said they will forward to the Corporate office. I was told that I would hear from them in 24 hours. (It is now 4 days later!) I have emailed this complaint x 5.([redacted]@stantonoptical.com) I have mailed the complaint to: Stanton Optical Corporate Office, [redacted] Ave.,Palm [redacted] Florida, XXXXX.
I don't anticipating getting a refund from Stanton Optical.
This is my first and LAST time going to Stanton Optical.
I WILL NOT recommend this business to anyone.

I have spoken to the property manager, the tech and our tech advisor and the problem has been fixed. We unfortunately did have to go out several times to find the source of the leak. It was confirmed on 8-14-2015 it was a leaking manifold. It did take several applications and products to seal the...

pipe thread. This did stop the leaky manifold. To our knowledge the Resident is happy with the repair.  Please let me know if you need additional information.

I've had good service from local eye care professionals but when the big Stanton store opened closer to me in Palm Springs Fla. advertising lower prices I brought them my new prescription and gave them a try. Big Mistake! At $771 I didn't save much but the bad service was so extreme that $50 would have been too much to pay.

The glasses didn't fit well so I went back to have them adjusted as I have done before at my previous optical supplier. The two clerks at the front counter simply looked at my glasses and said they looked OK and then ignored me. I tried to get help but they just said your glasses look OK -and rudely went away. I took the hint and went for help elsewhere.

That was a couple months ago. Then today, I brought back the sunglasses that I use only occasionally for golf because the eye pads had fallen off and when I tried to put them on it was clear that they didn't fit and would fall off again. So I went back and was again rebuffed by the very rude employees they told me that they did lenses not sunglasses and I'd have to go to the manufacturer of the frames even tho I bought them from Stanton just a couple months before.

I asked for the manager and she brought the frame to him and he just told her that they didn't fix stuff like that. He would not talk to me.

Then the kicker: she handed me back my sunglasses and with an exaggerated fake smile said, "have a nice day." Her associate laughed and repeated mockingly, "have a nice day."

My worst experience in over 40 years of buying glasses.

Do not shop or support Stanton Optical in Modesto unless you like getting horrible service. I have experienced this companies lack of customer service on more than one occasion. The first time I went to Stanton optical in 2008 I had a wonderful experience. This experience made me want to come back. The second time I went to Stanton Optical, I notice that all new people were working there and the nightmare started. My glasses were over a month late. I came by on two separate occasions to try to get my glasses as dictated by the promise date they had provided for me. I received no phone call tell me about the delay. When I did receive my glasses they mixed up my order with someone else. I was given glasses that were not even close to the ones that I picked out. To make matters worse they were unable to locate my glasses. I was force to pick out a different pair that I did not like as much as the ones that I had before because they did not have any more in stock. When I finally received my glass two months had passed since my initial appointment. Despite my previous experience I recently went back to Stanton Optical. I was hoping they would have fixed their issues, that tainted my previous visit, I was hoping for an experience similar to my first visit in 2008. I talked to the store manager and told him of my previous experience and he promised me that they would get it right this time, this was far from the truth. I came the day after they were promised for pick up. I received not phone call tell me that they needed more time. When I went in to Stanton I they informed me that my glasses would take an additional three days from the time they promised. I have worked retail before. I know that things do not always work out the way that they were intended. Most of this experience could have been solved by simply picking up the phone and telling me. Instead they took precious time away from me for their due to lack of organization and the their complete disregard to their customers. I was a loyal customer who had referred several people, but now will not step foot in Stanton Optical ever again. I am extremely dissatisfied. I hope that others [redacted] heed my warning and take their business to other competitors that know how to treat their customers.

My wife bought new glasses at their Glades Rd location. Both lenses fell out of the frames on different occasions within weeks after purchase; once while driving. In all my wife made 8 ( yes, that's eight ) trips there to have these issues addressed and resolved. One lens fell out twice and the other once. They supposedly made one new, better fitting lens that took 2 weeks to complete .Their advertised low prices are more than offset by the time expended in making multiple trips to their store. Don't waste your time and money--take your business elsewhere. I've worn glasses over 50 years and have never seen such a shoddily run operation. My wife has also worn glasses for decades and NEVER had such a negative experience before. They refused to give a refund on our most recent repair visit.

Buyer Beware Stanton Optical is a scam, Check with the Revdex.com Business Review's . Stanton Optical was sued the Ohio State Attorney Generals Office. The owners of Stanton Optical in West Palm Beach and Boca also own Stanton Optical's store fronts in Ohio. I personally have submitted a dispute to my credit card bank for the purchase at Stanton Optical. Thank God I put it on my credit card and not my debit card or payed cash. They have False Advertisement. When I first called in the West Palm Beach Office to inquire about there special. I was told by the sales girl that I would get an eye exam for $79.00 and I would receive 2-pair of glasses that included the frame and lens for $99.00, and that the promotion was good until Sept. 30, 2015, Funny I just saw a commercial where they advertising a promotion 2- for $69.00 . Well to make a long story short I have not gotten anywhere with speaking with customer service and I have yet to receive any product from them or any returned phone calls. I have contacted Florida State Attorney's Office and have Filed a formal complaint and I have also reached out to Consumer Affairs of Palm Beach County and Filed a Formal complaint with them. They [redacted] be be investigating [redacted] Optical and Filing a Law Suite against them. I urge anyone that has complaints with Stanton Optical to call your State Attorney's office and the Consumer Affairs Office and File a complaint and let the Law take care of it for you. Stanton Optical already has a BAD REPUTATION the LAW IS ON YOUR SIDE.

Worst service ever. Ive been waiting a month for a pair of glasses. The first time they ordered they came back with the wrong prescription. I have called two different times to see if my prescription was ready after the two times they ordered them both times they said they were busy and would call me back. They did not call back either time. The third time I called I was just hung up on without even speaking a word. They also keep telling me about my 2nd pair of glasses being on its way???? I only ordered 1 pair. They are so confused and seem to have no idea what they are doing. I called and spoke to corporate they told me they were on there way no apology nothing. Its been over a month still no glasses.
