It took weeks of calling the solar
panel manufacturer and Solar Alliance of America before someone was scheduled to come fix the problem. Most of the run around was due to the manufacturer. Once it was back in the hands of Solar Alliance, it took a couple of weeks to schedule an appointmentIt was made for 8am, by 1pm no one had arrivedI contacted Solar Alliance again, and they agreed to have someone come out by 3pm.The issue has been resolved, and the system is working as it should

The response is that we have no record of this individual or his complaint to us. If a meeting with a customer was had, and a gift card was not given, it could be because they failed to meet the criteria which would have been conveyed when the appointment was set – i.e. min $150/mo...

Hi, the response is complete nonsense. There was a flyer on my door which said to get a quote for solar and we will give you a [redacted] gift card, will I did get a quote and never received the gift card. I phoned the company around 6 times, and they said its in the mail. I still have the flyer for further proof. The company needs to honor what they are saying.B

The problem I had with my system did not show itself for 2 years. However, it was an installation problem and I believe Solar Alliance should have helped me in getting the problem resolved in a timely manner. The time it took me to find out who was involved and how to have it repaired was unacceptable. Solar Alliance teams up with Sun Power ( whom I love) and another company Solar West for repair work and that made for a huge mess. Solar West was not truthful either and they prove to be very difficult to do business with as well. All the while I was paying for electric usage because I couldn't get anyone out to fix the problem and the system was completely down. Solar Alliance would not help as I was told it wasn't their responsibility. Between Solar West and Solar Alliance the can was kicked down the road and I was left paying a lease payment and and electric bill to the tune of 150.00. Sun Power was the only responsible company in this whole mess. Now Solar Alliance wants to "sell" electricity to residents and I personally would never do business with them again for any reason. Solar West, in my opinion, just as bad.

To whom it may concern,We worked diligently to find a roofer that would service this customer and that took some time. Unfortunately the customers roof type has been involved in a number of class action suits (Example:...
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/property-owners-to-be-compensated-under-...⇄ and we could not locate anyone that was willing to subcontract partial roof work or installation of panels with the existing roof type. We have extensive documentations of these communications if needed. Furthermore, the third party finance company that he signed up under declined the project due to the roof type. Again, we can produce evidence that this is on there no-go list if needed. There is no reason that we would have wanted to cancel the project with this customer. We have tremendous sunk costs in seeking a solution and we actually took a loss trying to figure out how to get it done. [redacted]@solaralliance.com with any questions.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I had heard some of you commercials that indicated that certain restrictions do apply. However, when I initially called for the first estimate I questioned the call taker reference the $100 gift card. He assured me that I was eligible and would receive one in the mail after I received the estimate to buy the system. This was a VERBAL statement made you one of YOUR employees. At that point I was never informed that my bill had to be a certain amount. When the person came to give me the estimate, I decided that it was not feasible at that time to buy the system. The person that gave me the estimate stated that I was not eligible for the promotion because my electric bill was not high enough. This is a contradiction of what I was told by another representative from your company. Strike 1.Your company started leasing the systems. This sounded like a better alternative to buying the system so I decided to get an estimate. During the same time, your company was advertising free iPads. I SPECIFICALLY mention this to the call taker. He told me with a completed estimate I WOULD be eligible to receive it. I was never informed that I would have to have the system installed or my bill would have to be so much. Which according to your reply was NOT the truth. The representative came to the house to give me an estimate for a leased system. It was determined at that time the savings would be very minimal at best so I decided against leasing the system. Your representative was informed of this. The representative also said I would not be eligible for the iPad because my bill wasn't high enough. This is in conflict with what the call taker had told me. Strike 2.However, I knew my neighbor across the street ( [redacted]) was looking to buy/lease a solar system. I only did this because I know a few of your customers that satisfied with your company.I telephoned [redacted] while your representative was still at my house. [redacted] confirmed that he wanted an estimate from your company. Your representative told me that if I referred someone that bought/leased a system from your company, I would receive a $500 check upon completion of the work. Your representative also informed [redacted] of this when he decided to lease your system. After the installation, I called your company on at least 3 occasions to find out the status of the referral fee. Each time the caller asked my for my name, number and who I referred. Each time I was told that this information would be passed on to a supervisor who would get back to me shortly. I had never received a call back or correspondence from your company until I filled this Revdex.com complaint. On 5/20 I received a the following email: Good Morning, I have been trying to get ahold of you for the referral fee that you have called us about. Thank you for your referral. Unfortunately the referral is only for customers who got installed and referred someone who also got installed. We know your neighbors got installed but in order to qualify you would have to be a current customer with us having solar from us :) Since you were nice enough to give us a referral we will be sending you a $100 visa gift card, which you should be receiving within the next week. If you have any questions feel free to ask :) thanks again. [redacted]Admin AssistantSolar Alliance of AmericaT : [redacted]F : [redacted]406 9th Avenue Ste 304San Diego, CA 92101 Per your response to the Revdex.com:Please provide me with your neighbors name, address and phone number so
we can investigate further. If proven, that you referred our client and his/her
system has been installed and received permission to operate from SDG&E we
wi;ll send you a referral fee for $500.00.I am sorry for any confusion, but we have no record in our system of you
providing us with a name or addressStrike 3.When I called reference the referral fee, they were able to bring of the information. I see a just little contradiction between the two statements. Just like the contradictions between what I was told about the gift card and iPad. Even your company's response to the referral/complaint issue are in conflict with each other. I would think these issues are handled at the mid to upper management levels. If these are in conflict imagine what type of conflicting statements are made at the call taker stage. A company is only as good as it's word, work and integrity. That also applies to it's employees and representatives. Whether the statements are made in print, radio ads or by it's representatives in person or on the telephone. I was raised in the notion that a man is only as good as his work. In this instance a company.

I WAS NEVER KEPT IN THE LOOP WITH ALL OF THIS ACTION. I WAS PROMISED THE PAPERWORK FOR THE RECALL ON MY ROOFS MATERIALSBUT HAVE NEVER RECEIVED IT. IF I CAN SEE ALL ACTIONS TAKEN TO GET THE PANELS INSTALLED AND ANY PAPERWORK TO SUPPORT THEFACT THAT THE ROOFING MATERIALS ARE INADEQUATE. THIS WOULD SATISFY ME. I SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON MATERIALS FOR A 50 YR. ROOF AND WOULD LIKE SOME SUPPORT IN BEING ABLE TO GO AFTER THE MANUFACTORER.

This system appears to be working but is not reporting correctly for technical reasons. We are still working through this technical issue on behalf of the customer. He is awaiting new parts and we will follow up after Christmas.
We are in contract with Mr. [redacted] to build a solar system.Roof Type, Precludes Solar BuildMr. [redacted] has a roof type (Cal Shake Roof) which is not feasible to build a solar system on. Please see previously referenced correspondence. We have tried numerous ways to overcome this challenge without success. At this point we have incurred a tremendous amount of sunk cost. The facts are:A. We are in contract to build a system.B. The roof responsibility is the consumers, not ours.C. As per our contract, the consumer is obligated to upgrade the roof or pay our expenses.D. We have not pursued collection of our expenses with this consumer up to the present.SummaryWe are happy to build the solar system at our first opportunity, should Mr. [redacted] fix the roof material defect. This is ultimately a challenge to be dealt with by the consumer. We have done everything possible to treat this consumer in a fair and ethical manner; this includes not pursuing reimbursement for our expenses. Please RemovePlease remove this complaint from our record.---------------Respectfully,[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. There is no proposed action. They state that the delay was due to rain, but the panels were installed long before the rain occurred. This delay (as opposed to the numerous previous delays) was in them filing paperwork with [redacted] and the county to get the project completed, which was NOT affected by rain. Secondly, getting the project completed by the end of February is completely unacceptable since I was told six months ago it would only take two months. PTO from [redacted] should come any day now that SolarAlliance has finally paid [redacted] for the work they did a month ago, and all that is left to do is install the monitoring equipment.

Although I did eventually receive a $500 check for referring someone to the company. It took filing a Revdex.com complaint and negative reviews on the internet, before Solar Alliance issued the check. They demanded that I remove my reviews before the issued the check so I did. I see this as just sort of blackmail. They also demanded that I sign a document stating that I would not post any more negative reviews about the company. I explained to them that I would not surrender my 1st amendment rights. When I told them that, they stated that they needed me to do that as a condition of issuing me the check. I explained to them that if they did not honor their promises that I would explore other legal options that may include small claims court. And if I did that, I would seek additional fees for my time as well as compensation for my witnesses. After telling them that, they finally delivered the $500 check. They also stated that I would not receive the $100 gift card for the estimate or the I pad. They stated that they checked their phone records and that I did not call multiple times which I did. Since all my phone numbers are blocked, there is no way they could do the records check. I have invested a lot of time and effort reference this complaint and this issue. If only Solar Alliance would have honored their word, there would have no need for any of this.
