Review: While in NYC we bought tickets to the skyline sightseeing bus. We paid 105 dollars for 3 tickets and were told we could "hop on and hop off" anywhere we wanted in the city. When we were up in Harlem we weret old by the bus driver that we HAD to start at the empire state building and we could not get on the bus. We were also told the busses ran until 930 at night. Apparently that was not true either. Because of our location and planning around being able to hop on and hop off, we were not able to use out tickets because we were given the wrong information. I called the company, and the [redacted] agreed that we were given false information and emailed me a refund request forn which I mailed out with copies of our receipts. I did this on April [redacted]. I called to check on the status and they told me to be "patient"... I called them again today to check on the status and all of the mailboxes at the company's phone nukber are full and there is no way to leave a message. We were given false information, and the [redacted] on duty agreed, but we have not received our refund and now I cant get through to them.Desired Settlement: I want my money refunded! for false advertising!!!!!!!

Business

Response:

Several times attempted to contact customer in regards to their refund request, issued a check in the full amount of the refund requested, that was cut and mailed on 05/**/14 in the amount of $105.

Review: Spent hours in bus queues. When buses came they were going past full or with very few seats to accommodate the large queues. No organisation at bus stops so people were queue jumping. Total chaos. They have emailed me a refund request form after I complained to them. However, they want a scanned copy of my receipt and tickets but I threw them away before returning to the UK. I do have proof of purchase which I would be happy to send to them because I paid using my Thomas Cook Cash Passport card and this clearly states on the statement that $161 were paid to Skyline sightseeing Tours on the [redacted] of August 2014.Desired Settlement: Skyline sightseeing has too many sales people selling too many tickets for a service that cannot cope.

I was saddened to hear about your recent experience with Skyline Tours.

A full refund has been issued for your purchase that occurred on August *, 2014 for $161.00 (see attachment).

I was especially upset to hear of customers jumping ahead in lines. Please know that Skyline Tours takes great pride in offering one of the most advanced sightseeing experiences in NYC for each of our customers.

We hope you give us another chance. As such, we’ve included two complimentary gift cards. Each card is valid for two people and effective for twenty-four hour use. Again, our sincere apologizes and we hope to see you in New York again.

Review: Was approached by a fast talking skyline rep as soon as we departed subway. He asked how long we were in town for, I said today only. He said he could get us to & from the Statute of Liberty with NO WAIT! He said what he had was priority boarding passes. Against my better judgement, knowing we were only there for a few hours, I reluctantly swiped my credit card for $120.00 and the salesman disappeared.

I get to the line & the port officer said that was a flat lie & that they just got over on me, to get in line & wait with everyone else. I specifically told the salesman we had a show to be at @ 2pm, now mind you it was already around 10am. Now we didn't have time to wait in line & that's ok, but losing $120, is not ok. I do not like being lied to. I contacted the phone # on the ticket immediately that day. The rep emailed me a form to fill out, which I did that day. (Sat 4/**/14) I was also asked later that day to submit a photo of my tickets, which I also did. I wasted no time getting them all of the proper documentation that they asked for. I followed up via email on Weds 4/**/14 to which they replied that I would have to wait 14-21 to contact them again. Their 21 days are up, still no word. This is unfair practices. Thank you for your attention in this matter.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of $120 via a credit back to my credit card or a check. I was sold non goods.

Business

Response:

Several times attempted to contact customer in regards to their refund request, issued a credit back onto their credit card in the full amount of the refund requested, which was for $120 on 5/**/14.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. However, make it known that I am the party that made several attempts to reach Skyline. I checked the credit card and was refunded. I am satisfied and have learned to go with my best judgement in the future. A fast talking salesman is usually not to be trusted and they proved that to be correct.

Review: Below is the complaint that my friend, [redacted], and I submitted to Skyline on 8/**/2014.

My friend and I went to South Ferry because she wanted to see the Statue of Liberty. When we got off the train one of your agents told us that it is a three hour wait, but if we purchase tickets with him we would be able to see the Statue now on a boat ride. I asked him "how much would it be to see the Statue of Liberty? He told us for the $47 the boat goes by the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and under the Brooklyn Bridge. My friend paid first and when she went to pay he told her the total would be $57. I asked him "I thought you said it was only $47?" He replied, I don't make the prices and showed me the $57 on his handheld computer. My friend went ahead and paid so I did too. After we were done paying he added that it came with a free museum pass. When we were walking to get on the boat my friend saw a sign that had the prices and at that point it seemed that we had paid way too much just to see the Statue of Liberty only. So we went ahead and got on the boat because it was time to board. But when we returned from our boat ride we went to another Skyline agent and got a price brochure. And that is when we realize that the agent did not just sell us a boat ride to see the Statue of Liberty. Instead he sold us a All Day 2 Day Pass which we were not interested in at all. The agent that we got the brochure from informed us that we could just buy a boat ride to see the Statue of Liberty for $28. And at this point we realized that we had been scammed for sure. We would like to know what actions will be taken to ensure that this agent will not scam people in the future.

Skyline policy is that they need 21 business days to get back to you on a complaint. We gave them 24 business days and they did not get back to us at all.

I think it is a shame that Skyline agents or a allowed to scam customers. And my friend [redacted] who is in the US Army left for Korea today. And I think it is even more of a disgrace that she is in another country and is still having to deal with this nonsense. By skyline not even attempting to correct the wrong that was done to us. That confirms that they know their agents are out scamming people and they don't even care!Desired Settlement: I want my whole $57 back at this point. I have spent a lot of time dealing with this nonsense.

Also, I want to know how the agent will be reprimanded.

How do we get our gift cards?

Sincerely,

Review: Around mid August I came to visit my friend [redacted] Fields in NYC. I wanted to see the Statue of Liberty. So we went to South Ferry. There we encountered with a man (Agent # ([redacted]. We told him we wanted and he said that the cost was $47. When he totaled it he said it would come out to be a grand total of $57. I inquired about the extra $10 and he said it automatically calculates up any extra fees. I was a little doubtful but I wasn't sure so I went ahead and paid with cash. My friend then went ahead and purchased the same. The agent informed us that it came with a free museum. We headed off to go board the cruise and noticed a sign that stated the cruise was $28. We reviewed our receipts and noticed we were charged for an All Day 2 Day Pass that we had not asked for.

Myself and my friend both made complaints to the company. There policy was that they would reach a conclusion within 21 business days and we have now given them 25 business days.I have not received anything from them and I have emailed themwithout a response. Every time my friend calls she always speaks with the same person and when asked to speak with the [redacted] that person is always out of the office.

I took 14 days of leave from the Army to visit my best friend in New York and am disgusted with the service I am receiving fromthis company to resolve this issue. When a person is on vacation they are not expecting to be treated like this.I understandthat agent has a job but scamming people out of there money to try to make an extra buck is very unethical. I am rerequesting a refund for the part of the trip that I did NOT ask for. It should not be this hard to resolve an issue so simple. And to be compliant with the refund process that Skyline Sightseeing gave to us and them not holding up to there end is a disgrace. Even if they want to deny the refund the least they should do per their refund policy is contact the complainant within the 21 business days and answer emails.Desired Settlement: Being that I am, as I type this complaint, on my way to Korea for a year I would like a complete refund due to the unprofesionalism of their agent and the personnel handling refund requests. I would alsolike for the Agent to be disciplined for his conduct.

Review: Dear Revdex.com,

During my recent visit with my family to [redacted], we were approached and decided to buy 4 tickets from Skyline Sightseeing on July [redacted], 2014, to visit the Empire State Building on that day to watch the firework show. We bought the tickets from a gentleman by the name of [redacted] who stated that he was a representative of Skyline Sightseeing. He insured us that the tickets would allow us to view that night fireworks show from the 86 floor ESB Observatory that evening. This information was also printed and verified on our tickets. We paid, via Credit Card ending in #[redacted], for 4 VIP tickets a total $236.00 USD. The ticket numbers were as follows: tix#[redacted], tix#[redacted], tix#[redacted], tix#[redacted]. These tickets were sold to us with the premise that they were "special VIP tickets for the [redacted] of July fireworks show" that night, and that is why they were also so expensive.

When we arrived at the Empire State Building that evening for the fireworks viewing, we were informed by the building staff that the tickets were not valid that night and that a "private event" was being hosted instead. This is not what we were told and presented by the Skyline Sightseeing sales representative when we bought the tickets earlier that day.

The next day I went to the Sales office to inform them that my tickets were invalid and I would like to receive a full refund. They agreed that [redacted] was an representative of Skyline Sightseeing and that his salesmanship was not acceptable to company policies. I was informed to contact customer service for a refund. I filled in the official company request form via email. I also included all pertinent information (scanned the original tickets, reason for refund, and a request for the full refund of my tickets). Initially Skyline Sightseeing did not respond. After several attempts to contact Skyline Sightseeing they responded and informed me that they would not refund my tickets.

I feel that I was mislead by the company who sold me premier VIP tickets for an experience that didn't exist, nor would have taken occurred in the first place, and refusal to refund the $236.00 dollars which I am due. This misrepresentation and refusal of a refund needs to be addressed immediately. Also, this special once-in-a-year/lifetime event was completely ruined for us.tix#Desired Settlement: Immediate payment of the $236.00 USD back to the credit card ending in #[redacted] and a personal apology for ruining a once-in-a-lifetime event and visit to [redacted] with my family.
