Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Once again Select Auto Group is avoiding fixing the sun roof of my Hummer that was purchased at their location The sales representative promised that the car would be in complete working order I brought the car into your company’s reference, John’s Sunroof of Englewood, CO to be evaluated Select Auto Group denied the repair order with John’s Sunroof All I want is my sunroof to completely work as you promised me Sincerely, [redacted]
Dear Ms [redacted] ,We're sorry you are having trouble with the vehicle that you purchased from us on 2/5/ We did have [redacted] complete an extensive point safety inspection on the vehicle as we do with all of the vehicles that we sellThere were no apparent safety or mechanical issues including check engine lights etc., engine problems, transmission problems prior to or after the inspectionHowever, [redacted] did determine that the car needed an oil change and front brake pads, so we promptly had that work completed prior to putting the car on our lot for saleDid the vehicle pass emissions? If the check engine light was on prior to having the car emmissioned, it would not have passed emissionsIf it didn't pass emissions, we would have been more than happy to fix the problem that caused the check engine light to be onThe month/ 3,mile limited power train warranty that you mentioned is complimentary on vehicles years or newer and under 130,milesBeing that the car that you purchased is more than (sixteen) years old, this complimentary warranty is not availableAdditionally, the complimentary limited powertrain warranty covers the engine and transmission drive train onlyI'm not sure what the issues are on you're vehicle as this is the first correspondence that we have received from you regarding thisHowever, per our records you declined an extended service agreement which is an additional cost and different than the month/ 3,mile limited warranty that you mentioned Therefore, you purchased the vehicle as-isIf you have any additional questions, you can reach me directly at ###-###-#### Sincerely,**
Mr***, We're confused, you traded in late model vehicles valued at more than 4x (four times) the price of the year old used vehicle with over 100,miles that you purchased from usYou test drove the car and decided to purchase the vehicle We gave you over $4, (four thousand dollars) more than retail book value on both tradvehicles and paid them off for youUnfortunately, you neglected to disclose the hail damage on one of the vehicles that you traded in, which is required by law Fact: all used cars in the state of Colorado are sold AS-IS- not just the one's sold here at Select Auto GroupIn fact, this is a federal law enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) called the "Used Car Rule" and reiterated by the "Buyers Guide" that is prominently displayed on all used carsThis document was thoroughly explained to you and signed by you at the time of purchaseAdditionally, we offer every one of our customers an option to purchase an extended service agreement that protects consumers from out of pocket repairs in-which you declined Also, we have a policy to allow customers to have a car checked out by their own mechanic before purchase Then over one week after your purchase, you wrote a threatening email to our Dealership stating that "If these problems (worn CV boots and power steering boot) cannot be resolved we will ensure anyone that pulls up your site, Revdex.com, utilizes ***, social media, or any other avenue will know of your poor business ethics and never want to buy or purchase from your auto group." Again, we are more than happy to and consistently go above and beyond to help our valued customers before and after a saleHowever, we will not stand for, condone any mistreatment or threats, nor will we accept it online or offlineThat is exactly what you didYou threatened Select Auto Group and are defiling our character We gave you an opportunity to have us fix these "wear and tear" maintenance items at our cost and you refused to bring the car to us We complied with all regulations in the State of ColoradoAgain, the offer still stands, you are welcome to bring the car in and we would be happy to replace the worn CV boots and power steering boot If you have any additional questions about how we do business or would like to schedule the service, you are more than welcome to contact us at 303-993- Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:
Hi, I wrote a complaint against this dealership a few weeks ago my reference number is ***The day after I contacted you they called
the next morning stating the car was fixed and readyMy husband left work early to go pick up the car in DenverWhen he arrived they told him I needed to call the Revdex.com and tell them they fixed the issueI refused to do so at that time because I wanted to make sure the car was really fixedonce we got it home we realized the problem had NOT been fixed at allThe dashboard still stayed on the Windows could still be rolled down with no keys and other lights in the car did not fully shut offThis is after them having our car for over weeks! They sent us to a place down here in pueblo (*** ***) where they have had our car for almost weeks as well and all we keep getting is run around. We bought the car January 20th and have actually had it in our possession for days totalIt's February 23rd so for over a month we haven't even had the car one full week! We made the payment for insurance as well as the car payment for a car we don't even have! This isn't going anywhere and im tired of paying for a car I cant even drive.
Sincerely,
*** ***
We have reached a mutually beneficial agreement with this customer

I am rejecting this response because: I was lied to, mislead and was told that Select Auto Group would take any action neccesary to make the vehicle safe and reliableThey flat out lied to my father and I and had me sign predatory paperworkI hope that no one ever has to deal with what I've had to deal withI was hoping that Select Auto would take responsibility for the $2,worth of work that needs to be done to the car, but it's looking like I am going to have to pay for it myselfI feel fully taken advantage of, and stand by my word when I say that there was no way for anyone to have known that there were that many things wrong with the vehicle before purchasing. The last thing I am going to mention on this matter is that when you call their number (###-###-####) they specifically state that all of their vehicles have a guaranteed warranty of months, or 3,miles and that all of their vehicles are under 130,milesNot only is my vehicle 25,miles under that limit, but it is completely that the year of my vehicle is the reasoning that there was no warranty.
Sincerely,
*** ***

Mr. [redacted], We're confused, you traded in 2 late model vehicles valued at more than 4x (four times) the price of the 10 year old used AS-IS vehicle with over 100,000 miles that you purchased from us. You test drove the car and decided to purchase the vehicle. We gave you over $4,000...
(four thousand dollars) more than retail book value on both traded-in vehicles and paid them off for you. Unfortunately, you neglected to disclose the hail damage on one of the vehicles that you traded in, which is required by law. Fact: all used cars in the state of Colorado are sold AS-IS- not just the one's sold here at Select Auto Group. In fact, this is a federal law enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) called the "Used Car Rule" and reiterated by the "Buyers Guide" that is prominently displayed on all used cars. This document was thoroughly explained to you and signed by you at the time of purchase. Additionally, we offer every one of our customers an option to purchase an extended service agreement that protects consumers from out of pocket repairs in-which you declined. Also, we have a policy to allow customers to have a car checked out by their own mechanic before purchase. Then over one week after your purchase, you wrote a threatening email to our Dealership stating that "If these problems (worn CV boots and power steering boot) cannot be resolved we will ensure anyone that pulls up your site, Revdex.com, utilizes [redacted], social media, or any other avenue will know of your poor business ethics and never want to buy or purchase from your auto group." Again, we are more than happy to and consistently go above and beyond to help our valued customers before and after a sale. However, we will not stand for, condone any mistreatment or threats, nor will we accept it online or offline. That is exactly what you did. You threatened Select Auto Group and are defiling our character. We gave you an opportunity to have us fix these "wear and tear" maintenance items at our cost and you refused to bring the car to us. We complied with all regulations in the State of Colorado. Again, the offer still stands, you are welcome to bring the car in and we would be happy to replace the worn CV boots and power steering boot. If you have any additional questions about how we do business or would like to schedule the service, you are more than welcome to contact us at 303-993-5905. Thank you.
Mr. *-------, Please see the attached "WE OWE" from the dealership. As soon as the rest of the sunroof is fixed by you as we discussed at the time of purchase, we will be more than happy to take care of the switch as we agreed to in writing on the "WE OWE". We did fix the heat/ ac fan function...
and radio swap as agreed. Additionally, we were very disappointed that you did not disclose that your trade-in was reported "Total Loss" prior to you trading in the vehicle. By Law, you are required to disclose this. Again, we will "Fix sun roof switch" as soon as the rest of the sunroof is operational and fixed by you as we discussed. We stand by our word and contracts. Please contact us at your earliest opportunity to schedule the repair. Thank you for your prompt attention.
Mr. [redacted],We appreciate you sharing your experience, but we have to say it differs from what we recall. Due to a high workload and volume of retail cars that we sell, we do not take on outside retail work, nor do we service outside customer vehicles. Somehow, as a retail customer you struck a deal directly with your friend who was a mechanic at our shop at the time to complete the work. You were dealing directly with him and we were never told about the work that was requested. Shortly after, that tech was let go for other issues and we determined that your truck was not fixed. At that point, you asked us to "get the car back together" and we immediately, pulled another tech off another job to get on your job. We picked up where your friend left off on the truck. We replaced all of the pertinent issues with the truck related to the accident including the following parts and labor; an oil cooler, radiator, grill assembly, header grill assembly, bumper assembly, headlight assembly, a/c lines, trans cooler, radiator shroud, power steering assembly, power steering cooler, charged the A/C, replaced serpantine belt and all of the fluids. All in all, our second tech spent well over 20 hours of labor on the truck. We did not account for the previous techs labor, nor did we [redacted] you for it. Additionally, we discounted our labor time and parts because of the delay in the job from the previous tech. After the new tech completed the work, you took delivery of your car and you called on the way home to let us know that your water pump went bad. There was no way of knowing that this would fail, as there was no evidence of failure prior to delivery. Even though a water pump fails for several reasons not including direct impact in an accident, we responded immediately and called a tow truck to pick up your vehicle at our expense from your home over an hour away, we gave you a loaner vehicle for several days and replaced the water pump all at our own expense. After we completed the work on the water pump, we road tested your vehicle for over 100 miles as you requested. Then, we had your truck detailed at our expense and re-delivered your truck. Never at any point in this process, did you ask us to completely inspect your vehicle, nor asked us to go through wear and tear items like tires, inner/ outer tie rod ends, brakes, engine tune etc. As a truck with over 150,000 miles on it, these are all items that should be addressed in basic maintenance over the time that you have owned your vehicle. There was no eveidence that your inner or outer tie rod ends were damaged in the accident that you were involved in, nor were we asked to replace them. At this point, Select Auto Group has done everything it possibly could have done to take care of you and your vehicle. If you would like to discuss this further. Please feel free to call me directly at [redacted] and I would be happy to discuss it this with you. Sincerely, General Manager, Select Auto Group.
Dear Ms[redacted],We're sorry you are having trouble with the vehicle that you purchased from us on 2/5/16. We did have [redacted] complete an extensive 23 point safety inspection on the vehicle as we do with all of the vehicles that we sell. There were no apparent safety or mechanical issues...
including check engine lights etc., engine problems, transmission problems prior to or after the inspection. However, [redacted] did determine that the car needed an oil change and front brake pads, so we promptly had that work completed prior to putting the car on our lot for sale. Did the vehicle pass emissions? If the check engine light was on prior to having the car emmissioned, it would not have passed emissions. If it didn't pass emissions, we would have been more than happy to fix the problem that caused the check engine light to be on. The 3 month/ 3,000 mile limited power train warranty that you mentioned is complimentary on vehicles 10 years or newer and under 130,000 miles. Being that the car that you purchased is more than 16 (sixteen) years old, this complimentary warranty is not available. Additionally, the complimentary limited powertrain warranty covers the engine and transmission drive train only. I'm not sure what the issues are on you're vehicle as this is the first correspondence that we have received from you regarding this. However, per our records you declined an extended service agreement which is an additional cost and different than the 3 month/ 3,000 mile limited warranty that you mentioned. Therefore, you purchased the vehicle as-is. If you have any additional questions, you can reach me directly at ###-###-####. Sincerely,**

I am rejecting this response because:Once again Select Auto Group is avoiding fixing the sun roof
of my Hummer 2 that was purchased at their location.
The sales representative promised that the car would be in
complete working order. I brought the
car into your company’s reference, John’s Sunroof of Englewood, CO to be
evaluated. Select Auto Group denied the
repair order with John’s Sunroof.
All I want is my sunroof to completely work as you promised
me.
