Re: Life Storage LP, Store #168, Located at Highland Avenue, Salem, MA [redacted] | Complaint ID # [redacted] Dear Ms [redacted] We are in receipt of your letter dated August 14, 2017, and we respond as followsCopies of all relevant materials are attachedOn or about July 23, 2017, Customer entered into a self-storage rental agreement at the above-referenced location Section 3c of customer’s signed agreement states, “Late charges: If Customer does not pay in full any monthly payment before close of business on the FIFTH (5th) day of the month, Customer shall pay Owner a late charge of TWENTY U.SDOLLARS ($20.00) for each delinquent installment or TWENTY PERCENT (20%) of the amount of each installment, whichever is greater.” I have attached a copy of the agreement for review It should be noted, the store did contact the Customer on the August 5, to let the Customer know that a late fee would be incurred if a payment wasn’t made by the end of the dayI have spoken with the store’s area manager and he has agreed, as a one-time courtesy, to credit the customer’s account for the amount of the late feeIf you require any additional information, please contact the undersignedThank you, Anne H***Paralegal, Legal Operations

Re: Life Storage LP, Store #531, Located at Gale Blvd, Thornton, CO [redacted] | Complaint ID # [redacted] Dear Ms [redacted] : We are in receipt of your letter dated August 17, 2017, and we respond as followsCopies of all relevant materials are attachedOn or about August 5, 2016, Customer signed a self-storage rental agreement at the above-referenced locationI have attached a copy of the agreement for reviewSection of the Rules and Regulations of the customer’s signed agreement states, “Access to your Space is restricted to the posted gate hours on premises.” Further, the Rental Agreement states, “Violation of any Rule or Regulation may be considered a default under the terms of this Rental Agreement and may result in immediate termination and/or non-renewal of this Agreement.” (Emphasis added.) Store surveillance and gate code log in records reflect that on August 1, 2017, the customer attempted to access the property via her gate code at approximately 12:a.mCustomer was seen on camera, accompanied by several individuals who assisted her in accessing the facility, entering her unit and removing items from the unit at approximately 1:a.mIt should be noted that this store’s access hours are 6:a.mto 10:p.mCustomer was subsequently sent a Notice of Rental Agreement Termination/Non-Renewal on August 2, via certified mail(Please see attached) The Notice gave the customer three days to vacate her unitIt is my understanding that the customer was given an extension of time to remove her itemsThe customer now has until August 31, to vacate and gate access has been restoredIf you have any further questions regarding this matter, please contact the undersignedThank you, Anne H***Paralegal, Legal Operations

Thank you for your intervention in resolving this issue I received a phone call today from a manager from Life Storage He was very cordial and he agreed to honor the pricing that was promised me as well as provide me access to the second unit now without having to pay for it until April 1st This is basically what I was seeking all along so all is well[redacted]

We are in receipt of your letter dated August 13, 2016, and we respond as followsCopies of all relevant documents are attached On or about July 21, 2016, customer entered into a self-service storage rental agreement at the referenced facilityOn July 22, 2016, customer’s space was found locked open and therefore unsecuredThe store manager secured the space by putting a red seal on the lockThe manager attempted to call the customer but phone number that the store had on file was a wrong numberThe store then sent a Notice of Unsecured Space to the customer On July 27, 2016, customer came into the store to make a paymentThe store manager told customer that her space was found locked openThe manager also inquired about getting a new phone number on file for the customer and the customer provided her with oneOn August 2, the space was again found unsecured; this time with no lockThe space contained only clothes insideThe store once again attempted to contact customer; this time, the phone number was disconnectedOn August 3, 2016, the store manager once again found customer’s space unsecured; this time it was completely emptyThe manager placed a yellow lock on the spaceCustomer came into the store on August 5, and stated that someone had changed the lock on her spaceThe store manager explained to the customer that her space was found unsecured, and also explained that it was empty when she found it unsecured The store manager and the customer then went to look at the space togetherWhen they arrived at the space, customer stated that someone had stolen all of her things and thought it may have been her ex-husband and asked if store personnel had seen him entering the gate in a blue ***Customer asked our manager to review the facility cameras, but unfortunately we could not oblige this request because there are no cameras inside the buildingsThe manager told customer that she should call the police to report the theft The customer was then refunded for the month of AugustShould you require additional information, please contact the undersigned Sincerely, Anne H [redacted] Paralegal

I remember her (the manager) giving me a notice to vacate form to fill out, but I don't recall if she ever gave me a copy or notThere was some severe cold weather going on at the time and I remember her saying it was affecting her computer and connectionsI called the business numerous times after finding this item on my credit, but they ignored me and would never respond to any inquiry

left dozens of messages with multiple employees requesting that their corporate office contact me in regards to this matterIt took for me to file complaint for this company to contact me back because the absolute wrong answerLife Uncle Bob’s Storage to include MsAshley B [redacted] have treated me, as a customer, as a person, and as a United States Army Soldier that they have complete lack of respect, dignity, and by far the worst I have ever been treated in my life in regards to this matter I am now requesting that this matter is now moved up to an higher level moving forwardI am now leaving on another Military Permanent move with NOTHINGThe military had to ship my move around due to this overall the situationI have been investigated by the military due to this whole situation the Life/ Uncle Bob’s storage have createdThis company is standing behind their MrsAshley B***, who has fraudulently re-created a contract and trying to cover up this entire situationNo information on the entire contract, to include every piece of documentation that they have is in accurate information, everything misspelled, and deleted pertinent contact information to cover up this devastating mishap They have sold off myself and my daughter's entire life because I was behind a total less than $and have not made any attempts to pay me the overages or provide me any information about my entire Life that they have now placed into the hands of the complete strangerThis stranger has went through my paperwork, highlighted and returned my LES (Military paystub), highlighted and return a check that was removed from my checkbook with all of my accounts and routing informationHe has refused to return any pictures what paperwork that I have requested through this third party request and also working with MrsAshley B*** Harris County District attorney’s Office now have this illegal auction listed as a Federal Grand Theft/Larceny with Ashley B [redacted] as the suspectThis company auctioned off my entire life away in attempt to make a quick buckThey sold every picture, military award, diplomas, every irreplaceable I obtained in my lifetime, tax documents, any sense of security that may have had to a complete stranger that has my entire life in his hands Every piece of my belongings is now considered as stolen property and I want my belongings, my life, and my security back that they have stolenI've even begged LIFE/ UNCLE BOBS Store manager an area manager to make an offer to the buyers, to return the Government laptop, my military equipment, along with my pictures, Military ID cards in passports for myself and for my daughter, drivers licenses, and all paperwork in exchange for $12,They have refused to give me the buyers information or inform him of my intentMy military equipment, irreplaceable tangible thing that represents me and my daughter have been auctioned off without my knowledge, without my consent, and without a court order (Whic is by law, protocol)They have sold myself and my child's entire identity, I feel more vulnerable than ever I have had to request my PCS move, May to be prolonged, due to this entire nightmare that Life/Uncle Bob’s Storage have causeThis Company have sold off government equipment, Military equipment, and they have ignored and refused all request including that of the Harris County Investigating Detectives information about the whereabouts of the government propertyI am requesting that this case be moved up to a higher level and that Life/Unle Bob’s Storage be reprimanded Very Respectfully, [redacted]
