I suggested that she check out an HRV at Performance Honda. It was Certified Pre Owned and I felt that would be a better choice for her. We drove to Kings and she and I test drove the 2018 green HRV. She was happy with it and proceeded to purchase it. I noticed that the TPMS light was on during the test drive and did not mention it. I now regret that decision.
My daughter lives in Cleveland and had to go back home. I picked up the vehicle and drove it home to Wilmington where I live. The TPMS light was not on when we picked up the vehicle.
I installed a dash cam for her. I did that on Wednesday. After that install I changed her oil and cleaned the windows on the vehicle. They were filthy. Whoever detailed it did not do a very good job. I also noticed the rear wiper was ripped and deteriorated and I had to replace it. I did not do anything else that day to the vehicle. I planned on driving the vehicle to my daughter’s apartment on Thursday May 20th.
Before we left that morning, I decided to check all of the tire pressures. 3 of the tires were reading around 41 PSI. The right rear was reading 22 PSI. No TPMS light on. The door panel says 32 PSI front and 30 PSI rear. I set all of the tires to 34 PSI and headed to Cleveland. 3 miles down the road the TPMS light came on. I turned around and went home. I checked all of the pressures and they were all 34 PSI. After reading on how the TPMS system works on a Honda HRV, I did a TPMS reset.
After driving to Cleveland I told my daughter I had better check the right rear tire. I did and the pressure was 27 PSI. Still no TPMS light. We took the car to a Mr. Tire near her apartment to check the right rear tire. The technician said there was a small nail in the tire. It was too close to the sidewall and the tire had to be replaced. He suggested that it was purchased at Walmart and to check there. She called her local Walmart and they had the tires in stock. To replace the tire, she was out $104.22.
So, what happened? When the technician saw the TPMS light, he just did a TPMS reset. The light went out. The other 3 tire pressures were never checked. They were over 40 PSI, nowhere near the 30 and 32 PSI that the door panel says to put them at. It is sad that the tech gave a 25 year old female a vehicle in that condition. If I did not look at the car for her the right rear tire would have been flat and on the rim. She works in the evening and getting out of work at 11:00 PM with a flat tire in Cleveland is not a good situation.
They prided themselves on their 100 something point inspection. All they did was pencil whip it. I called and talked to her salesman about this and he assured me a manager would call either me or my daughter. No one has bothered to call.
You did not put a smile on my face Performance Kings Honda! Do not purchase a vehicle from this dealership!

I have had nothing positive to say about this dealershipFirst, I called to tell them I was coming to look at a van they had for saleI was not informed that the van wasn't cleaned out and made the hour drive there to check it outWe drive there to look and see this van a wreck and we notice a nail in the tire We give them the benefit of the doubt and talk to the salespersonThe salesperson gave us the *** value the first time we were there and we discussed how they are a five start dealership and they have won the President's award for a given amount of yearsAnd with that information, he gave us a priceWe decided to come home and look over that information and talk about itThis is a couple days later, and we came in the afternoon, so they had those couple days, and that morning to make sure the van was cleaned outIt was notThe nail was also not removed from the tire and we were informed he had to get a new tire for itHe knew in advanced when we were comingWe still gave them the benefit of the doubt of being busy and we understand things happenWe also were very interested in that van considering the mileage and the year and everythingBut we had a few concerns when we came back with the information that he had given usIn the *** paper he had put all the features the van could possibly haveI didn't think it had all that stuff and when we went to talk the second time, I asked him about itHe fumbled over his words and proceeded to tell me that he had made a mistake and only some of it was included in thatI asked him what was and he had lied againEspecially about the part of the van having rear A/C which is what I really wantedWe didn't get to see the van to confirm this because it was being cleaned out (finally)I understand that this could be considered my fault but I figured that he wouldn't consider lying to me AGAINWell once again, it could be considered my fault but then we decided on a lower price and negotiated on it and came to terms with a priceThen we were pressured to buy this warranty they were offering and we said no THREE TIMESFinally, he lowered it so much and wouldn't leave it alone, we finally just said yesWe go to pick up the van and we find out that they had to get a new tire for it and it wasn't in yetSo we had to come back to pick up the vanI come that morning to pick it up and find out I have to wait hours for the tire to be fixedI was cutting it close to being late for work so as soon as the van was ready, I had to take offI get home later to finally have time to enjoy the van and realize there is no rear A/C like I was toldLike I said, I understand that this could be considered some of my fault by being naive but some of the blame does need put on them considering they flat out liedSo a month later, the van won't startWe find out there was a recall on itI was not told there was a recall out on itI would have gotten that fixed before I got strandedThen currently, the van's check engine light came on and we find out it's the computerI call the warranty provider to see if it's covered, it's notSo the warranty that I'm pressured to get, doesn't cover a four figure cost to meI call the dealership to see what they can possibly do to fix this and they tell me that I should have got a Honda, not a DodgeHe said there's nothing he can do unless I want to trade it in with him to get a nicer Honda that won't have problems with it like my *** has had in only six yearsI just find this completely unacceptable that there was no service offered to fix this issue, to preserve their name, or anything like thatHow can you claim to be five stars and tell me I have to pay extra for that and this is what I receive? Then I get told it's my fault because I didn't buy a HondaI don't recommend this dealership and their shady ways to ANYONE
