Hello ,I have reviewed the complaint from the customer. Mr. [redacted] came in for a oil and filter change. We performed a visual inspection of the vehicle while performing the service. The hood release latch would have been pulled to release the hood and then the hood would have been closed at the...
completion of the service. This would have been our only contact with anything involving the hood. The customer made the comment that we performed a diagnosis of a leaking water pump. The coolant leak was visually seen in the timing belt\water pump area while we performed the oil service. The vehicle was not disassembled . Mr.[redacted] vehicle is a 2005 Audi A4 with a 190603 miles. The micro switch that triggers the light is located in the latch between the radiator and the nose of the vehicle. It is unfortunate that this concern has happened but there was nothing that was intentionally done to Mr.[redacted] vehicle to cause this to happen as he has stated. Sincerely Bob C[redacted]###-###-####[redacted]
The vehicle lower shield (under the vehicle) is not near where the hood latch switch is. The lower shield be removed\loosened may have to be done to change the oil and filter as part of that service. There was no connection of the latch\switch for the hood during our service . The only interaction was when the release was pulled and the hood was lifted up. We do apologize the your vehicle has had a concern after the oil change was performed but I can see no relation to the service we provided. Sincerely bob c**
