Filing a complaint against *** AKA Mission Hills Federal. A company claiming to be with the federal government to help collect student loan payments and keeping them for themselves. Enrolled in 2014 with the name of *** and then the account was transferred to a different named Mission Hills Federal as of 01/01/2018. Continued to withdraw payments until 06/13/2019 when The *** got involved and sued them. Case name is *** Case is still pending. There have been no payments applied towards school loans resulting in increased interest rate and higher balance owed. Credit has suffered resulting in the *** has put a collection/delinquent charge on my credit. I will have to dispute that charge to be able to remove it. I have been unable to be approved for home loan with my bank to be able to purchase a home for my children and I. Thinking this was an approved federal business I gave my personal information like social security number, address, DOB, baking account and routing number. I had to close account number and cancel debit card and all change all automated payments linked to my checking out. I work for a federally funded clinic and the clinic does have a legit program that does help with student loan repayment. I got the information from a coworker assuming this was the student loan repayment program my work offered.
I was paying money every month to MHF student debt relief and was contacted by my student loan service stating that no payments were being made I told them that I was paying through MHF they stated that they are not getting money so I called MHF and the number was disconnected and they never sent emails back. I am out thousands of dollars and and wanting to know how to get my money back or what I need to do from here.
As many of you already know, this company is a scam. I wrote a story about this company in an essay competition. If Mission Hills Federal screwed you over too, please share this story.
Mission Hills Federal falsely filled out paperwork with fabricated responses and submitted to *** without my consent. I have been paying $186.85 to them from 2/2017-6/2019 when the government shut them down. In that time, Ged Loan Servicing did not receive any payments from me. I am looking to get the money I paid to them back so I can apply it to my loans.
Like other complaints on the Revdex.com website, I have learned that Mission Hills Federal has been collecting $61.00 each month from me for the past 4+ years. It was my understanding that they were managing my Federal Student Loan and using a portion of the $61.00 to make payments on my loan.
I learned today that this is not what has been happening and I am posting this complaint to help others who may have fallen into this trap.
If you go to the Mission Hills Federal website ***/ you will see a notice stating that the *** has shut down Mission Hills Federal and its parent company and filed a lawsuit against them.
The Receiver has established a webpage with information about the lawsuit which will be periodically updated. ***
*** I checked with my loan servicer and while Mission Hills Federal did file documents with my loan servicer postponing my requirement to make payments, they have not made any kind of payment for more than 4 years.
Shame on me for not looking into this sooner I guess, but shame on them for fraudulent activity.
Five years ago to the date I negotiated a payment plan with Mission Hills Federal to start paying back my student loan debt. For the last years, I have paid approximately $6,000.00-$7,000.00 to Mission Hills Federal. I found out today that on July 8, 2019 the FTC filed a law suite against Mission Hill Federal for defrauding its consumers and not apply our payments to our student loan debt but to find out that Mission Hill Federal was keeping our money for themselves. I also found out that Mission Hills Federal would change our account information with our loan recepitents in order for the the lender unable to contact the lendee. My desired outcome would be to recoup the money that has been stolen from me for the last five years as I had Mission Hill Federal automatic pulling their monthly payments. I was under the impression that Mission Hill Federal was paying on my student loans with the money they were taking but now only to find out as of today I don't know where the money is
I have student loans threw Fed loan services and somehow Mission Hills Federal took it over and they have not been giving the money to Fed Loans for 3 years.
Mission Hills Federal is supposed to be a 3rd party assistance with student loan management. Initially my account was active with *** of *** · Aliso Viejo, CA 92656, however on Jan 2018 I was informed Mission Hills Federal was now servicing my contract. For the past 2 years I had been paying $61 monthly to this company who would in turn send the payment to my loan provider, ***. After speaking with *** to access my tax information, I was informed that they had not received a payment from me since 2017. I contacted Mission Hills Federal today and was informed that only $10 of my $61 was going toward my loan and that it was not being sent to my lender and instead into a "trust" since I had no payments due with my lender. When I requested my payments I made be returned to me or be directly sent to my lender, I was told that they would not be sent because I still had an active contract with them until July 2019. I was also informed that if I cancelled payments now, the $61 per month would be taken from the money I paid for my loan and then upon contract completion, the remainder would be sent to my lender. This feels like I am being forced to pay fees for services I am not receiving if no payments are being made to my lender. I was also told that my account would go into collections for remainder of the monthly fees.
Mission Hills told me they were my student loan servicer for the department of education. I had been paying them for over 2 years and not one of those payments went to my student loan. they pocketed all of that money.
These people are fake , they have been taking my money since 2014. Nobody can tell me how I can get any of my money back. They want give you any info on how to file suit on them or anything. The Federal trade Commission doesn't know anything and I don't think they even care because it's not their money. Can anybody give me any info concerning this matter ?
I was initially consolidating my student loans through *** and was informed in 2018 that they sold my account to MHF and had been paying them monthly without fail. However, I am now being notified by the *** that none of the funds I paid to either entity were applied to my student loan account. They somehow managed to obtain access to my account thru the *** and had changed my phone number and email address so I was not being notified of any of this. In addition to this I have now accrued almost $10k in additional interest. I filed disputes for the charges, but the bank will only dispute the last few months. Now I am unable to get ahold of anyone at this company.
I have been paying Missions Hills Federal since 2017 , $62 a month thinking this was going towards my student loans repayment for student loan forgiveness. I just found out through *** that no money has been received and I didn’t need to go through them or any other third party. I tried to stop my contract but couldn’t. I can’t afford to be out that much money.
My original student loans were (what I thought to be) consolidated by the company "***". I contacted this company December 2014, and on 1/30/15 I received a confirmation email stating they had begun working on my account "handling all correspondence with those lenders and the Federal Government" on my behalf. On 5/13/15 I received an email that stated "Everything is going according to schedule" and "your lenders verified all loan balances". Every month, $61 was deducted from my checking account, to which I thought was paying on my student loans. Then, this company gave my account to Mission Hills Federal on January 10, 2018 without consent- the email states "Your account has been assigned to us for completion of your contract agreement. This assignment is not due to any problems with your account." The initial email also stated, "You should experience no difference with your student loan payment terms, payment dates, and payment amounts.". I was notified that my monthly student payment will now show as "EDU Student Loan" when it withdrawals from my checking account monthly." (The term "EDU Student Loan" was the same for the *** used.). Every month, $61 was still deducted from my checking account, to which I thought was paying on my student loans still. I found out today, after speaking with *** Services, NO payments have been made to my student loans from either company. They also told me I had a $0 monthly payment due to income based reasons. There were accounts created on my behalf, that did not have my personal information correct (someone else's email etc..). They have never received any *** application information regarding employee verification for loan forgiveness (I'm a Florida state teacher in public schools), which I sent both companies each year they held my account. I have some emails- lots- but not all. In which, the companies state how much money is going towards my loans yet no money ever did.
I was informed by *** that my account was delinquent. I told them I had been making payments to Mission Hills Federal, but they said the payments were only going toward administrative costs, and that I should cease making payments to them immediately. I have seen several other Revdex.com complaints related to this company.
I would like to end my services with Mission Hills Federal due to reading complaints that they scam college students to avoid paying towards their student loans. I recently contact *** to pay them directly; when contacting Mission Hills Federal they denied ending my contract without paying $299 dollars non of which will and has ever gone towards my student loans. This is a scam and ex student paying college loans need to be warned prior. I have been told that I signed a contact (in 2016) and cannot be ended without paying the $299 OR continuing to pay $60 a month (again which does not nor has ever gone towards my total student loans balance). I feel like this is unacceptable and that this is a money grab for desperate ex college students.
Absolutely fake! I signed up years ago. Never once did they paid anything to my student loans.
Mission Hills Federal is supposed to be a 3rd party assistance with student loan management. Initially my account was active with another company and I received a letter that Mission Hills Federal would now take over and service the loan, however on May 13,2019 I was informed by *** who sent me a letter/statment from the *** requesting an update on income for my Income Based repayment plan that Mission Hills Federal was not sending them monthly payments for my student loans. I have been paying $61 monthly to Mission Hills Federal who I understood would in turn send the payment to my *** loan provider. After speaking with ***, I was informed that they had not received a payment from me since 2009 when I graduated and started payment, until one payment of $210.00 in May 2019. Telnet also told me that whoever I am paying is likely a scam and has nothing to do with paying off my student loans. I contacted Mission Hills Federal yesterday and was informed that only $10 of my $61 was going toward my loan, sent to them once yearly but the rest of the $61 is a "managing fee". When I asked to cancel and return the payments to me or the *** then I was informed that according to the contract with the previous company that they bought my service contract from, I could not cancel until Oct 2019 without a $215.00 additional penalty, and if I stopped payments additional penalties would then accrue in addition to the $215.00. THIS IS A SCAM FORCED ON GRADUATES THAT ARE STRESSED WITH A MOUNTAIN OF DEBT! I am being forced to pay fees for services THAT I WAS LED TO BELIEVE WAS PAYING MY LOANS OFF ACCORDING TO CURRENT GOVERNMENT RULES, I am not receiving the service I was led to believe I was. I do not know where to turn for help and do not understand how these companies continue to operate praying on unsuspecting people.
I was contacted by this company to consolidate my student loans, they informed me that if I paid them monthly they would pay my loans until I was forgiven. The issue is, I recently found out that my monthly payment being taken from my checking about for the past few years now of approximately $90 has disappeared. Last week in feb 2019 I had *** take back over my loans and they informed me that there has been 0 payments made towards my loans and they have had my loans since 2016 but were charging me 0 since I was on a income based pay back plan with *** . They said they have no idea who is taking my money or what they that money has been going. I contacted Mission Hills Federal via email to stop taking money, I then blocked their account from automatic bank deductions. I then contacted MFH on their 1800 number and they informed me that they have a contact w me until 2020 of april and that if they don't receive their money I will be sent to collections.
I was contacted by phone in January of 2014, by Student Loan Services about my federal student loans. They gave me information that *** can buy out, pay off my loans from ***, which is now ***. They said that *** would take care of my loans from that point on. They stated that my payment monthly on my loans would be $51.00 a month. I asked how could that payment cover my loans? that amount doesn't even seem to be enough to cover the interest on my loans. *** representative stated the the government will be paying the interest. I asked the representative why would the government pay the interest, and he answered, because that is what they do. I said to him that is not a ligament answer. I contacted *** about the amount of my student loans, that the balance has been increasing over the years, and why do they still have my balance if my loans were supposed bought from them by Student Loan Services. They said my loans haven't been bought from us, and that none of the money that I have been paying to Student Loan Services has gone to my loan balance at all. They said they are just charging you a fee for their services for filling out an Income Based Repayment Plan application for you, in which you can do yourself for free. I stated I have filled out that application twice myself since being with ***. Since doing business with Student Loan services they have changed names to National Secure Processing, and now Mission Hills Federal. I have never been contacted that the company sold to another one or changed names. I have never in 5 years received any mail or an email from either company. I contacted Mission Hills Federal by phone and talked to a representative, and they did not have my new phone number or email address. Non of the money I have paid to them over the 5 years has gone to my federal student loan. this has to be a scam. I would like if I could get my $3,060.00 back. I believe they have also changed my email address and password several times with ***. Feel I was mislead.
My loan processing was given to a new company that will not allow me to terminate the contract; however, my contract was never with Mission Hills Federal it was originally with ***. In addition, the company is not doing what they were contracted to do. I have been paying a processing fee and nothing has been applied to my loan. I have also been contacted directly from *** that I am required to begin monthly payments of $699...which is not the $0.00 amount I am currently being told through Mission Hills Federal for my Income Based Repayment. When I requested to terminate my account with them, I was told I could not until September of this year. The company is not submitting or requesting paperwork, they are only taking my money! I want to terminate the contract and work directly with ***.
