Dear Revdex.com: I am writing in response to the complaint received about my business which has been assigned ID [redacted] I would first like to stay that the complaint received is not at all truthfulI would like to take you through the eventsI have been out to this address twiceOn the first visit, on 11/24/2014, the customer complained the fireplace had insufficient flame and that the glass was dirtyThe reason the fireplace was not performing is because the home owners admitted to me that they rearranged the logs, not according to the manufactures design, and smothered the flame which caused the carbon build up on the glass, so I made all repairs that day and the customer signed off as acceptance of the work done on my invoiceA year later on 11/05/2015, the customer calls me to ask me to come back on another service callThe customer was aware of the amount of my service call fee of $but still wanted me to make better adjustments, which is how he described what he wanted from me on the phoneI went to look at the fireplace again and adjusted air mixture wide open per his request and then spent up to hours trying to explain to him the mechanics of the productThis involved explaining to him that the fireplace is a listed product and it was designed to produce the flames that it was doing at that timeI explained that I could not alter the product because it would be unsafe and could become a fire hazardI also explained that this would be a liability concern for my companyThe product is well over year old and the company is no longer in businessThe customer became very mad and abusive with bad language because he didn't like that I would not alter the productBoth invoices were signed off by him stating that what work was performed and he paid meNo parts were sold to him because that fireplace was working as it shouldThe customer continued to call and harass me and was very rude at which time I informed him that I would not tolerate the abuse any longer and he needed to find someone else to work on his fireplaceIn the years I have been in business this is the first complaint I have received through the Revdex.comI have always been able to resolve issues but I have every right to expect courtesy and I will not be yelled at and called namesI work very hard with many companies and have a good reputationThere are many companies here in Albuquerque who refer customers to me because I have a reputation of doing excellent work and being very knowledgeable in fireplacesI would like to point out that I spent up to hours with the customer but only charged him for one hourThis is far from the practice of someone who would be a "price gouging hustler" as he statedThe statement the customer made about the "flame on our fireplace adjusted and he refused to do it" was inaccurateAs I stated above the air mixture was adjusted wide open as he requestedBasically, the customer is unhappy because I refused to alter an old fireplace and he did not like being told noI will continue to protect my company by not conducting unsafe practices and that will occasionally mean that I need to tell a customer no for their safety and othersSince I did spend a great deal of time with this customer trying to explain the fireplace, adjusted the fireplace air mixture as he requested, customer was aware of the service call fee when scheduling the appointment, and signed off on the work done a refund will not be givenPlease consider this my response to this complaint and if you wish to meet with me, please feel free to give me a callThank you, Jay [redacted]
xxxxx is a great guy His work is very good value for the money He and his crew did a great job
Typically I negotiate a service, pay the agreed fees, and go on my way But [redacted] and crew did such a fine job cutting down trees and cleaning up that I was inspired to tell people about them This company is "old school" in that they take pride in their work and want to see the job well-done as a matter of principle They had the "Revdex.com" logo on the side of their truck which led me to this website to vouch for them You just don't find many people these days that do quality work at a fair price and are dependable Being the 2nd time I've used them in two years, I would easily allow them to work without me even being home and trust all will be fine
I recently use Belmont Tree & Landscaping at my home on a much needed yard that had over growth from the previous ownersAfter cutting trees (over 40ft), pulling schrubs, completely removing vines, weeds, and who knows what else, I didnt even recognize my house and yard! [redacted] is completely knowlegable on any landscape, he's give great advice, his crew is very nice and respectfulthey arrived on time, and work hard to please the customerWe will use them again!
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Mr [redacted] is attempting to double talk his way out of reimbursing me for a job he did not perform adequately, and most importantly, for causing me to contact him again to revisit the shoddy work he was responsible for doing when he initially came out to service my fireplace November 14, First let me once again reiterate he spent no more than minutes in my home, and then had the audacity to hand me a bill for $(invoice # dated 11/5/15) to address a problem--(a pilot light issue) that he was initially responsible for causing. It should be noted by the Revdex.com review staff that I had called another service provider at [redacted] Fireplace--immediately after we had a problem getting our fireplace serviced properly by Mr [redacted] , and was promptly told that the cause for the pilot light going out was due to the logs being adjusted incorrectly by the previous service provider--none other than MrJay [redacted] of American Fireplace Installations, LLCNow, as I see it, Mr [redacted] claims to be a professional, and yet HE IS THE ONE WHO ADJUSTED THE LOGS INCORRECTLY WHEN HE INITIALLY SERVICED OUR FIREPLACE LAST NOVEMBER.This begs the question: why is he lying to you now by saying I adjusted the logs, and why is he not responsible for the fireplace not working properly resultant from his shoddy, faulty workmanship?Mr [redacted] has also stated in his response that: " the customer is informed that there is a $service charge JUST to come out and inspect/repair their fireplace." So again my question is: are customers like myself likewise required to pay for services that have not been repaired, and moreover, equally responsible to pay a service charge he is responsible for causing (the faulty placement of the logs) At any rate, as I indicated, it is my opinion Mr [redacted] is not only a price-gouging hustler and scam artist, but also a double-talking liar.Indeed, when he refers to my moving the logs in the fireplace--and having no explanation for their being moved--he neglected to mention a single undisputable fact: Mr [redacted] moved the logs himself on 11/22/14, when he initially serviced our fireplace! Here is what Mr [redacted] wrote on my previous service call invoice #"Relit pilot and adjusted logs per manufacturer."Having said that, I would kindly ask the person (s) who review my response to Mr [redacted] 's to ask him to explain why, if he has not attempted to fool the Revdex.com by lying about the services he has provided for me, that his invoice reflects, in his own handwriting, that he adjusted the logs in my fireplace that directly caused the pilot light to go out.In fact, after reading the multiple layers of lies voiced by Mr [redacted] in his response to my complaint, I am wondering if he deliberately sabotaged my fireplace, by adjusting the logs incorrectly, to guarantee another service run to my home, at a cost of $for minutes work! My math indicates that cost reflects a whopping, unbelievable cost per hour of $Even attorneys do not charge as much.In closing I respectfully request the Revdex.com publish this complaint to ensure future consumers are made aware of the unscrupulous, disingenuous, price gouging, and faulty workmanship tactics MrJay S [redacted] of American Fireplace Installations, LLC, provides to unsuspecting customers. And finally, I request you ask Mr [redacted] to provide you with a copy of invoice# 4779, dated 11-24-14, so that you can read the portion of the invoice, written by him, that clearly says he "adjusted logs per manufacturer." Which obviously proves he lied when he said I adjusted themAnd to direct him to either fix my fireplace--as guaranteed by his service statement, or to reimburse me the full amount billed ($133.98) for a job that was not completed properly.Have a great holiday! Regards, [redacted] [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the responseIf the consumer does not provide a reason if he complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 14, 2016/02/22) */
Per a phone call from the company, they stated that the customer is welcome to stop by and ask for the owner and they will provide a refund back
I am rejecting this response because:I first call the customer service number and they told me that I needed to go into the storeI go to the store and they tell me that I need to call the customer service number
Belmont Tree & Landscaping is the best tree service I've ever used Owner was immediately responsive to schedule tree removal service and communicated in excellent manner and showed up when he said he would On the second day, he called in early in the morning to advise that he had received an emergency call to deal with a tree that was falling toward a house, but that he would arrive on our job that afternoon Again, he showed up on time, and he and his employee completed the job The entire service experience was excellent Much emphasis on worker safety was evident from the beginning Equipment used was in good condition, and all workers were well-trained and very efficient...steady, hard workers Clean up work was excellent Owner is very customer oriented and truthful, which is a refreshing departure from a number of the services in our area I'm always when a service provider does what he/she promises *** with Belmont Tree & Landscaping is one who does This company was recommended by a previous satisfied customer, and I highly recommend it with no reservations, whatsoever Excellent company with competitive, fair pricing
Review by xxxxx in xxxxx, NC
Project: Trim Trees
xxxxx and his crew did a fantastic job trimming four overgrown trees; one of which was a large oakHe ldid exactly what was needed, offering advice before and during the job and did a badebris removal, all at a fair priceWhereas other tree services would not bother to return my calls or take any small jobs, xxxxx returned my call promptly and came out to give me an estimate on the same dayNow that's good service!

I am rejecting this response because: Mr*** is attempting to double talk his way out of reimbursing me for a job he did not perform adequately, and most importantly, for? causing me to contact him again to revisit the shoddy work? he was responsible for doing when he initially came out to service my fireplace November 14,
First let me once again reiterate he spent no more than minutes in my home, and then had the audacity to hand me a bill for $(invoice # dated 11/5/15) to address a problem--(a pilot light issue) that he was initially responsible for causing. It should be noted by the Revdex.com review staff that I had called another service provider at *** Fireplace--immediately after we had a problem getting our fireplace serviced properly by Mr***, and was? promptly told that the cause for the pilot light going out was due to the logs being adjusted incorrectly by the previous service provider--none other than MrJay *** of American Fireplace Installations, LLCNow, as I see it,? We never used any derogatory language with Mr. [redacted].We again reiterate: Mr. [redacted] is indeed a scam artist and charged us for work that was not acceptable. We are now respectfully seeking your help and asking for you to subject his business practice to investigatory scrutiny to(a) determine if all his licenses are in order and,(b) if he offers a customer guarantee for services provided. And finally and most importantly,(c) to explain what his refund policy for customer dissatisfaction is.
Regards,
