Mr. [redacted],
Good afternoon! I received a duplicate Revdex.com complaint regarding the application and deposit for you and Mr. [redacted]. I'm not sure if this was intended or if you were trying to get an update on the original complaint. As I informed your co-applicant, Mr. [redacted], the...
original Revdex.com notification was sent to a previous employee of Main Street Realty and it took a few days for the original complaint to make it to me. The deposit, check# [redacted], was returned to [redacted] (current address given). I'm assuming the check has been received since the original complaint has now been closed by the Better Buiness Bureau. Please let me know if the check has not been received or if you need anything else.
Thanks,

Refund was received much later than promised in the application contract. This closes the matter as far as we are concerned.

The rent responsible date for move out was listed as October 12th, 2017. Your prorated rent was due on October 1st, 2016 and was considered late after October 5th, 2016. The late fee was for October, not November 2016. We have over 60 pictures of the apartment which was...
left dirty and all charges are correct. I have attached our move out cost sheet that was signed by the tenant that lists our fees.
Mr. [redacted],
Good afternoon! I apologize for any delay in our response. The original Revdex.com notification was...
sent to a previous employee of Main Street Realty and I just received your complaint today. I am very sorry to hear of your discontent. I can assure you that we are not a scam and that we’re a very legitimate business in Richmond, VA. I looked through our records and I do show an application listing you as the roommate/spouse with [redacted]. I am re-printing the FCRA letter (the one addressing your portion of the application) to include with this correspondence. Since your application is a joint application, we can only discuss items pertaining to your portion of the application with you and vice versa. However, we can speak to both of you at the same time regarding any questions you may have about the approval status for your applications - as long as both of you give consent for the information to be discussed. Also, the deposit is being returned to [redacted]. Again, I apologize for any miscommunication. Please feel free to contact us at [redacted] if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Wendy H[redacted]

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have provided Revdex.com with the pictures of the apartment which reflect this company is nickle and dimming residence upon move out. The pictures will reflex 2- 3 crumbs on the kitchen counter, a strand of hair on the toilet base, dust on ceiling fan, and I have to pay? The apartment has indoor outdoor carpet located only in the bedroom and I am being charged $100.00 for a cleaning fee? There are No damages to report in reference to this apartment. This company is up charging me for normal apartment cleaning criteria after an apartment has been vacated. Several other complaints about this same action have been made toward this apartment complex. I don't feel this company's representative really cares about assisting the residences who spend thousands of dollars to occupy their apartments when other options exist. They set the price and I feel I have no say. They have not offered me a resolution beside, Pay!

Review: I completed an internet application at this company's website in order to apply for a loft apartment.
Some days later I called the apartment to learn the status of my application. My spouse was told that our application had been declined, but the employee who called, a man named Vinny, refused to give any specific reason. We felt this was unusual because we have proven assets of $450,000 in the bank, and didn't understand why we would be turned down for a loft apartment.
My spouse complained to the Revdex.com because the deposit which was collected was never returned to us. According to this website, deposits received for applications that are declined will be returned within 10 days. The deposit had been collected electronically, and we expected a refund to be processed in the same way.
Though you contact this company and they said that they had refunded the deposit by a check sent to our former address in Florida, no refund has ever been received.
It may be that a company that can rake in deposits from unsuspecting internet applicants could expeditiously refund deposits and not claim to send checks to various parts of the country.Desired Settlement: Arrange a refund of our rental deposit.

Review: Apartment collected application and deposit fees for internet application for a loft apartment. Notice that my bank reported that these "application and deposit fees" were transferred to a California "rent" account.

We were advised that our lease application was not approved, and no specific reason was provided. Two weeks later we still have not received a refund of the deposit fee. We want to be sure that this is returned to the account from which it was debited.
There are many warnings about apartments scamming people out of their money in just this way.Desired Settlement: Arrange for this apartment leasing company to refund our deposit. The "terms" which are available by looking at the terms and conditions on their website when you apply for a particular unit, indicate that if the application is declined that the $200 deposit will be refunded within ten days.

Response:
We did receive a check for $200 for the rental deposit which was forwarded from [redacted]. This shows that Main Street Realty did finally refund the deposit for the rental application, as they said they would, to our former address.
Review: I moved into [redacted], and apartment complex owned by Main Street Reality, in October of 2014. I was told that sound is not an issue and tenants won't be able to hear their neighbors.
I have provided a video of the noise that occurs in his apartment and how it can be heard from my apartment to management, and they refused to allow me to switch apartments in the same complex. In addition to this, there is a hole in the wall connecting to the ceiling between our two apartments, to which noise carries over with even greater intensity. They did not finish building the apartment, as my unit is unfinished.
In addition to this, the construction crew left a light on in my ceiling that only they could climb to to turn off. It took over a month for this light to be removed from when I initially asked management to have it removed. This lighted spilled over into my bedroom, so I constantly had a light on through the night.
I am well aware that thin walls do not constitute a valid reason to break a lease without penalty, but I believe that given the videos of the loud noise, the pictures of the hole between our apartments, the light fixture in my ceiling that took a month to remove, and the fact that I can't sleep at night is reason enough to break this lease.
I can provide all the videos, pictures, and correspondence I have had with management as proof.
I want to clarify this complaint involves health only in that I have trouble sleeping. There are nights when I only sleep 3-4 hours because of the structure wall between tenants. My neighbor is a [redacted] student who has people over and parties on a daily/weekly basis.Desired Settlement: I would like my contract broken

Regards,
Review: I came in on Friday 10/16/15 with my fiance and put down a $200 deposit for an apartment, and found out across the street had apartmetns that fit my budget better on 10/19/15. An application was not process yet since we didn't pay the application fee, we had not turned in all the paper work for the approval for the apartment, we were told we needed to turn in pay stubs which we havn't, and this was just on Friday, and Monday 10/19 I received an email telling we have been approved and the process was complete and my deposit wouldn't be returned to me, for no real reason.
How can I be approved for an apartmetn wihtout salary verification, or employment verification, and no lease was signed, but nontheless Im told my deposit would not be retuned. This was not clearly stated by the way during the time we visited the apartment.
I have checked several sources and this isn't common practice in Richmond VA. the apartment was not held for weeks or even days, we came in 4pm on Friday to hold the apartment, I don't think there was much hardship endured by the apartment building to legally justify keeping my deposit .
All I am looking for is a return of my deposit of $200Desired Settlement: I want a refund of $200.00

Ms. [redacted] came in to tour an apartment with [redacted] on 10/16/15. We received an application from [redacted] not Ms. [redacted]. Since they applied within 24 hours of viewing the apartment we waived the application fee as that was our currect special. They were both informed of this as well. I have attached the application pages that [redacted] signed that clearly state that if a prospect cancels for any reason the application deposit is forfeited. There is no time frame specified so the amount of time it took to notify us of the cancellation is not relevant and the fact that we needed to still needed pay stubs is not relevant either. We held the apartment and processed [redacted]'s credit as he authorized. I have attached the email correspondance where Mimi states they are cancelling due to finding a cheaper apartment. Thank you, [redacted]Vice President of OperationsMain Street Realty, Inc.
