I decided to update my grandparents bathroom. This would make their bathroom accessible to them, as well as my disabled brother. The entire process went well except because we went with the lipless tup it leaks all over the bathroom when ever anyone takes a shower. I called to complain and they were very understanding and said they would send someone to fox it.
The catch is I personally need to be at their residence because I am paying for it... which is very inconvenient with my schedule and it is their bathroom I wont settle unless they are happy regardless but I still agreed to set up a time to meet with [redacted] their Quality Assurance Manager.
He did not even have the audacity to call and tell me he was not coming or running late what ever the situation may have been.
I would not recommend this company to anyone! the work looks nice but they do NOT stand behind their products!
I had my tub replaced with a walk in shower. I was very pleased with the sales & the installers. I really like my new shower! I would definitely recommend Mad City to do any kind of remodeling to be done to others!!! Thank you! [redacted]
I was in the process of getting quotes of my windows and had gotten about 6 before I heard of Mad City. Wish I would have heard of them first, it would have saved me a lot of time. The sales associate was excellent, thorough, down to earth and was relate able. I love the Windows, it is a dream come true.
HAD A BATH WRAPS SHOWER STALL PUT IN. CREW WORKED EXTREMELY HARD AND GOT THE JOB DONE IN ONE DAY EVEN THO IT WAS SCHEDULED FOR TWO DAYS. ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS AND RESPONDED QUICKLY TO SEVERAL REPAIRS THAT AROSE. LOVE THESE GUYS.
Windows turned out as we had hoped.had a couple issues that needed correcting, they were down in couple days to take care of problems. Employees very easy to work with. Very happy with outcome
Review: No drip edge on bay window they installed. So the water runs down the window when it rains. They replaced entry doors and storm doors and they don't close right. The front and back door sill plate has a big gap between the sill plate and storm door. The weather stripping on storm door is torn off. The door knobs hit each other on the entry door and storm door keeping the storm from closing properly. This is both front and back doors. Both storm doors are not adjusted properly so they don't close right. They didn't replace the trim on the front door that they split when putting it up.Desired Settlement: I want everything fixed and in working order like it's supposed to be and was contracted to be.

On Friday May 1st Mad City returned to this customers home and completed all work on the customers punch list. The customer is currently happy with the work performed. Our field manager was at the job site and did a walk through with the customer at the end of the day and confirmed there is no more service to be completed
I contacted this company for an estimate for windows. They advertized no interst payments for 60 months. Even though their quote was twice as high as their competitor I agreed to the installation. The initial paperwork I signed was 0% interest for 60 days. A few weeks later another representative from their company came around and said they needed the final document signed. There was no mention of a change in terms. After the installation they wanted to set up payments. I noticed that they were charging be 14% interest. When I complained, they showed me where I had signed on the contract where the interst rate was printed was in very fine print and extremely hard to read. They also promised a $25.00 Walmart gift card which I never received.
I had an old bathtub/shower combination removed and a new walk in shower installed. The communication from start to finish was good and they were on time and knowledgeable. I really like my new shower and it looks great. I also like the peace of mind with the warranty. It gives me confidence with our decision to go with Mad City.
Installation occurred on specified date as planned without any problems. Installation went very smoothly and accomplished on time line specified. Worked performed was out of this world. Completely changed the looked of the bathroom. Bathroom look's excellent. Installers very nice people to work with. Any questions asked were promptly answered.
We are very pleased with the installation and quality of products of our new shower that replaced our pink all in one tub installed in the 70"s. The installers (Nick and Darious) were so pleasant to work with and did a super job. I just love it. My husband say's I will wear it out. We will be sure and let anyone we know how pleased we are with the looks and installation of our shower.
I called Mad City to get an estimate on windows for my house. Sales rep was on time and took measurements and then went into a 2 hour sales pitch that lasted till 9pm. I was told first that he would not be able to tell me the estimate because my boyfriend was not home and that would be "illegal". I told him that he was working and would not be here, this apparently is not acceptable with estimates. After he continued to make me uncomfortable with numerous times telling me I needed to make a decision right there or I would loose any "special pricing" he offered. Once he knew I was done with his sales tactics he then called his "boss" and was able to come down a generous $10,000 for me to sign tonight. AMAZING MARK UP I MUST SAY. I let him know again I would not be writing a check for $16,000 tonight and he then continued to pressure me to sign up for something, anything, 1 thing only. I let him know he was pressuring me and he grabbed my hand and shook it (pretending to make me sign a paper) and said "this would be pressuring"! I again said I will not make a decision tonight and I felt uncomfortable with his pushy sales tactics, he said he would wait out front of my house for my boyfriend to come home so he could get him to agree to $16,000. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO UNCOMFORTABLE IN MY OWN HOME AS HE MADE ME FEEL! By 9pm after working all day, my family had not had dinner, my dogs have been outside barking the entire time I let him know I was done and he needed to go. THIS HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTIC IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS AND SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED. I DO NOT WANT YOUR "CERIFICATE" FOR A DINNER AT RED LOBSTER, WHAT I WANTED IS FOR YOU TO LEAVE MY HOME NUMEROUS TIMES.
Run far away from them.. or better yet don't let them thry ur door. We had to sit thru five hours of high pressured sales pitch. I kid y not. He arrived at 6 pm and it was after 11 pm when he left and its only after we signed the contract. Next morning after realizing we didn't want to spend $30, 000 on 12 windows I sent thethree day cancellation letter FedEx. I'm still angry at his insistence that night. The lies I'm sure he told and like everyone else we never recieved the $50 gift card. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't go thru with this. Never will I recommend them!!
After seeing a commercial on TV for Mad City Windows, which included a $60 gas card just for getting a quote, I decided to give them a go with the windows in a house I just bought.
Now, I know nothing about how much windows should cost, but I imagine $2000 per window is a bit on the high side. Unlike other reviews here, the presentation and measurement period only lasted about 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the final hour of the total 2.5 hour ordeal was pure hell.
Initially, I was given a price of over $10,000 for 4 windows and a sliding door, and over $24,000 for all 11 windows and the sliding door. But, if I agreed on the spot to do the work through them, they could drop the price to a bit over $8,000 for the 4 windows and sliding door.
When I explained that I never make a decision on the spot, I was interrogated as to just why I wouldn't make a decision - "what do you have to think about?" he asked. Ok, reasonable question, but no answer I gave him would suffice.
Finally, as it was getting past 6:30 in the evening, I've had a wife attempting poorly to control 2 hungry, bored, and tired children, I told the salesman that I had to get my kids home (I am not yet living in the new house, as there's work to be done). 15 minutes later, I repeated myself. This salesman ignored me a 3rd time as well, and finally I had to plainly tell him that I was done.
I only wonder if he realizes that he talked himself right out of a sale, or if he thinks I'm still considering it?
Oh, and I never did get the gas card. By the time I was able to get out of there, it was worth the $60 just to get rid of him.
Review: I was at [redacted] on 10-23-2015 and this company was there doing advertising. They offered me to scratch a coupon for prices. I won a $25 restaurant gift card and they told me I would get it free if I just do a quote with them. They came to do the quote on 10-24-2015 at 10am. A worker name [redacted] number [redacted] came to do the quote. At the end of the quote I showed him my wining coupon for my $25 restaurant gift card. He told me that he forgot the coupon at the office but promise on Monday 10-26-2015 he would send 2 coupons by mail which I believed. I never received no coupons I called the company twice and they told me that they will send it through the mail which never happen. I don't know why they lie so much and use this fraud as advertising promising customers something that they won't honor.Desired Settlement: I want my $25 restaurant gift card that I won.

To whom it may concern; This was an oversight on the part of our office and we will be sending out a $50 Gift Card today to the homeowner. Most of the time the sales reps physically carry the cards on them however in this case [redacted] had run out of a stock of them and needed to get more. When we mail them out it typically goes out every 2-3 weeks.Regards,[redacted]

Review: After holding my deposit for months, due to my travel schedule - as clearly explained to my sales rep - Mad City Roofing dba Mad City Windows did not show up as promised for installation, nor did they respond in any sort of meaningful fashion to multiple call attempts and emails. When I finally spoke with [redacted] the production admin assistant, I was greeted with excuses and an insistence that my deposit would NOT be returned. As I no longer trust this company to execute our contract in professional workmanlike fashion, I do not wish them to even waste my time with rescheduling and further empty promises.Desired Settlement: Refund of partial deposit for job that was never started, let alone, completed.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Per conversations with Mad City Windows, our dispute has been amicably and well resolved. I request that my complaint be removed from all public Revdex.com websites, or, that this text is posted in its entirety stating that Mad City Windows and I have very much solved the problem at hand, and no negative actions nor perception should result.
We had someone come out for a quote for replacement windows... nice guy very knowledgeable of his scripted presentation. There was NO way we were going to be able to say no and still have the guy leave. He told us we had 3 days to cancel so we signed so he would leave. We called to let them know we were going to cancel and would be sending paperwork in the morning. The lady said NOT to send anything because we had to do a exit meeting to sign the paperwork and the soonest would be 5 days. We sent everything signed to them registered mail the next day since the meeting would be past the 3 day cancel period. Over $1000.00 per window was just crazy and the 27% interest from the first day of the loan if you don't pay it off in 60 months but they bill you just under what is needed. Never got the promised gift card for having them do an estimate. Very Shady Company :(
The point where my experience with Mad City Windows turned negative was right after we signed the contracts and the financing was complete. Within a few weeks, the installers were out and done within a day. Their work was shoddy to say the least, and horrible to be more accurate. One window leaked significantly, all windows had exposed wood, and exterior trim work looked like it had been done by someone who didn't know that the bottom of the window should be parallel to the vinyl siding that was already on the house. It took three more visits by technicians to get the job to an acceptable state, and one of the items that was promised is still not complete. Two of the windows have privacy coatings on them and they fog up when it's humid outside. I called the company twice to request that those windows be replaced, and they even sent out a customer satisfaction rep to review the entire job and I've YET to get my replacements...two months later! To sum it up, I wouldn't have this company put windows on my doghouse!
Quality, professionalism and timely are what I think of when I consider Mad City Windows and Roofing. I will have them do more work for me in the future.
Review: We have a number of sizable issues that which have yet to be resolved.
First, every window was sized to small for our house. Before this process the windows were a perfect fit in every cavity. They were flush with our drywall and looked great. Now because the windows are too small we have this nasty wood "stop" as our installer called it around every window. This should have been disclosed during the process. A custom fit window should be exact and we were told they would look exactly the same. This was not the case.
Second, the skylight was replaced and new shingles were put in around it. They don't match our existing shingles and now we have a funky patch on our roof. Again, told it would look the same. Far from it.
Third, and most concerning, the mold cost of $10000 seems particularly exorbitant after talking with other contractors. We have contacted Rapid Response and a few other companies who literally responded with "They charged you what!?" when we told them of our situation. They all have stated that in no way should it have ever been that much. They estimated our job at $3000 - $4000. In fact, Rapid Response recommended we take this to small claims court and they offered to come in as experts to testify on our behalf about what was done and the cost. The only redeeming thing they said was that the steps taken seemed to be right. It’s also suspicious that an original quote of $5000 jumped to the exact number the insurance company might cover. Not to mention that our original quote said that it would be taken care of anyways. The additional mold was not that bad especially when those affected areas were being removed anyways. If anything we should have been charged for only a very, very small cost for some air scrubbers to be placed in our home. I even heard [redacted], our installer and mold specialist, tell [redacted], the service manager he was only at our house doing work at night a few times for a few minutes to check readings and that was it. We were told all mold was gone. Then more was found in the attic. That should have been handled by your company not me. Beyond that, mold removal should never have been done with an infant and child in the house. This huge health hazard is unacceptable and probably the thing that infuriates us the most. For a company that values safety and family this did not show. We should have been given a complete list of the cost breakdown for the mold from the very start and never were.
We have been asking for receipts and invoices for 4 weeks. Finally we received a paid invoice receipt that simply listed the window cost and the $10000 for the mold. No details about what we were paying for, the product cost or the labor costs. Not to mention detailed price breakdowns for the mold. We were told we would not have any subcontractors working on our house. The subcontractors told us that they were sub's from the very beginning. In fact, they were very honest with us about the questionable business ethic of Mad City and their employees, explaining that the price we paid was significantly inflated, and that if we had negotiated we would have gotten them much cheaper. After reviewing numerous reviews from previous customers, this seems to be true.
Our family feels completely taken advantage of by Mad City Windows. We understand there may have been more to the job than originally anticipated, but to exploit us by charging us well over fair market value simply because turning to another company would have entangled us further, is dishonest at best. They forced us into a position where we had to procure much larger financing and now are struggling to find ways to pay off all of this. My wife has to take extra shifts, and I have to try to find extra ways to cut our budget just to meet these additional payments! This is immoral way to conduct business, and I am thankful that I have found other companies in Madison willing to do business the right way, serving families instead of bleeding them every dime they can get.Desired Settlement: We are asking that Mad City Windows adjust our bill by a total of $10,000 from our original billed amount of $27000. $6000 of this is for the cost of the mold remediation. I feel this is in line with what we should have originally paid for the mold to be taken care. The additional $4000 is for the poor quality of the install done, mis-sizing of all the windows and not communicating that our window area would look completely different than the original windows. We are also asking that Mad City return to our home to replace the shingles from the skylight with matching shingles.

Hats off to Mad City for employing two truly great installers of windows, John and Phil
[redacted]. They were thorough in both their explanations and work performance. They worked without a break for more than 10 hours and did some work that they did not have to do without my asking. They cleaned up very well and answered all my questions. They worked professionally with routines that evidenced that they knew the work very well and without any mistakes or breakage The windows look good, operate well and I appreciate the lifetime warranty for both myself and the next owner.
