Paramount Equity was a phenomenal company to work with. Nathan S and Mellisa O were our Loan Agent and Loan Processors, respectively. From starting the paperwork to funding took two weeks!!! They were thorough, gave us a great service, always checking on us and letting us know exactly the paper work they needed from us to get the loan processed quickly. They were always available to answer questions and responded quickly to emails and voicemails. We definitely recommend going with Nathan S and Mellisa O at Paramount Equity!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!

We, my wife and I, went through the process of re financing our home. Having completed all requirements given to us by Mr. *** of Paramount Equity Mortgage when all of a sudden we not longer had communication with Mr, *** all forms of communication from him stopped. We were also required to get an appraisal which we were promised to be reimbursed the $500...After reviewing comments on Facebook we decided to add to the complaints
Our records indicate that we have revived the borrowers updated stips today, 6/12/2017 and we have reengaged the loan with the intent of submitting tomorrow.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Dear Revdex.com Customer Service Agent:
I am writing to complain about my recent experience attempting to obtain a refinance of my home with Paramount Equity Mortgage. I have submitted two complaint letters directly to Paramount Equity.
The FIRST was complaining about my inability to get a response from either my loan officer or processing agent after a period of nearly 3 months since the process was started. I had emailed and called for about 3 weeks to get an update with no response, until I sent a letter through the company’s website. I then rec’d a response from the loan agent apologizing and indicating that he had been out sick and that my loan could not be approved because of a late payment. I asked him to provide me details of whether he was referring to a late payment on a commercial mortgage that I had with the Church in November that I had informed him of on Day 1 of our meeting back in Feb when he said that it was not a concern as it was ‘commercial’. I waited another 2-weeks and he never emailed, so I sent a SECOND more recent letter of complaint via the company’s website (5/24/17) with no response to date.
MY SPECIFIC COMPLAINT AND REQUEST FROM the Revdex.com:
I believe that the company’s advertising regarding their Triple Protection Warranty to new clients is ‘false advertising’ and the way their loan officer’s, specifically the one who dealt with me, was unethical and misleading.
On my first conversation with and email from the loan office,, I was informed about the Paramount Triple Protection guarantee, which he explained to me as a ‘type of insurance’ to back-up their reputation as a company to follow-through with an applicant that once they reviewed my information and started the process for a loan but did not follow-through they would pay the customer $500. I appreciated that this was not a guarantee that a mortgage would be approved without having any information about the applicant, but once the info had been shared, and I signed the proposed loan information, then that was confirmation that the loan officer’s words had some validity.
This was one of the reasons I went with Paramount, as $500, was a sufficient amount to give confidence that they were not ‘out to play games’ with the customer. However, it seems that this was not the case. Outside of the obvious poor and insensitive customer service that I received over a period of 3-months dealing with this company with long periods of ‘no-contact’,
(a) my Home Appraisal is now worthless, so money lost,
(b) my credit rating has fallen too low for anyone to provide me a cash out,
(c) my current Home Mortgage's Loan Shared Appraisal, which is dependent upon their appraisal of my home over 3 months ago, which also cost me money, is now most likely no longer valid,
(d) my time, anguish and stress.
Finally upon my inquiry to *** about the Paramount guarantee after the company forced him to communicate with me, he then told me that, the guarantee only covered clients if they are RETURNING customers of Paramount and not NEW customers. In my reading of the ad, which I have also posted below, I don’t see that listed anywhere and therefore, in addition to the unconscionable actions of my loan officer and processor, *** , I think that the company’s guarantee, as copied below is very misleading. Just in case any other people may also be fooled into dealing with a company that they thought was reputable because of a mid-led promise, I wanted to Question the ethical posting of their Triple Protection guarantee, as I believe the ad to be misleading and it’s use by loan officers of their ‘promise of conscientious service’ based on the ad to be unethical. (See 3rd item below: Set and Secure Closing Guarantee)
At Paramount Equity® we give our customers triple protection with a unique approach to the loan experience we call the Paramount Pledge. We pledge to eliminate up-front costs, provide long-term rate protection for your loan and a guaranteed closing.
No Application Fee – Some lenders charge up to $400 just to start the loan process for you. At Paramount Equity® you won’t have to pay an application fee just to lock in your loan.
Better Rate Warranty – We protect you for the next 7 years. After you complete a loan with us we will cover most of the cost to refinance or purchase within the next 7 years, for any reason.
Set & Secure Closing Guarantee™– Our “Set & Secure Closing Guarantee” states that once we receive all borrower information, your signed disclosures and lock your loan, we guarantee we can close your loan at the lock rate and terms we provided, if we cannot, we will pay you $500.
Finally, I have enclosed a sampling (4 out of 20+emails) shared throughout my transactions with *** and his processing agent, ***, from 2/28/17 - 5/24/17, not counting the numerous phone calls, scans and paperwork. Despite my upholding my obligation to respond to all inquiries and requests within 24 hours, I went multiple weeks without hearing anything and jeopardizing my opportunities to pursue mortgages in a timely fashion.

Dear ***
I am writing from a reply from one of our earlier email exchanges earlier in the loan process, as there is a discussion of 'transparency'.
I discussed the details regarding my application with Paramount, especially my concerns over the Commercial account and any impact it would have on the success or failure of my application. The last time that I heard from ***, which was over 10 days ago, he indicated that the Commercial Loan may be a problem and there's a chance the loan will be denied. As I have not heard anything from *** since then, with weeks between his communication with me even before then, I am writing to ask for transparency on your part.
I check my email multiple times a day to ensure that I don't miss an email request to provide additional information. I have striven to return any requested information within a 24 hour period of the request, and want to be proactive about any future requests, as well.
However, I am writing now too request if you could call me to give me a 'heads-up' on the situation, rather positive or negative. The waiting without having any timetable of then to check my emails has become quite stressful, as it is approaching 2 months since we had our first communication.
I am not writing to complain. I would just like to know from you where I stand in the process or even if I have been denied.
Please feel free to call me on my cell phone at ______, or even give me a day or time-window when I should check my email for an update, if that is possible..... whichever suits you best.
Sincerely,

Good evening Name removed,
I wasn’t able to meet with my UW team tonight so I will have to follow up with you first thing tomorrow. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
I look forward to updating you tomorrow.
Note: (Name removed Client name removed) – I waited a couple of more weeks and heard nothing else from *** despite two calls from my husband to the Paramount office with no reply.
I then submitted a complaint letter through the Paramount Equity online complaint portal in early May describing my inability to get any response from *** or his office.
*** then called me on the phone a couple of weeks later indicating that the Corporate office had contacted him about my concerns. He then told me on the phone that my application was declined as it looked like I had missed a payment, and my income level was too low with the Commercial mortgage. I asked him to inform me of what missed payment he was speaking of, especially as I had shared with him on Day 1 in Feb 2017 about the missed Commercial property payment in Nov 2016 due to a website malfunction and whether that would be an issue. He and ***, his processing agent, indicated back then that it would not be of concern as it was a commercial property, and *** had indicated to me that even if they included it, my income was sufficient.
He indicated then that he would email me ‘the next day’ to let me know which missed payment to which they were referring. That was about 2-weeks ago, and I have yet to have heard anymore from him.
we are deeply concerned to hear of any inconvenience caused in this matter. Attached is record from both our marketing team and call center team that all records indicating you contact name have been removed and add to our DNC list. In addition, we have reached out to the sales team responsible for you loan at Paramount Equity to further take care of the request below. Please allow 2 business days to complete the additional requests.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I recently completed my second home refinance with Casey S, Senior Mortgage Specialist, at Paramount Equity Mortgage. I first worked with Casey last year on a refinance and when I decided to possibly refinance again, Casey was the reason why I returned to Paramount. Although I knew he was juggling a lot of different customers each day, Casey pretty much made me feel like I was his only customer. When he said he would call me back, he did - even after regular business hours. I never felt rushed when I had questions that needed to be answered. He's been in the business for twenty years and he knows his stuff. Let's face it, refinancing your home can be a rather tedious and sometimes stressful process, but Casey minimizes those situations with his positive personality and superior customer service. I recommend that anyone looking to get a mortgage for their home, wherever they live, give Casey S at Paramount Equity Mortgage a call. I've already recommended him to a friend who is moving out of state and he'll be the one I call the next time I refinance.

Subject: RE: Hello Name removed!
Sincerely,
Name removed

Hi Name removed,
Thank you for your well written letter.
I am looking into this now and have escalated it to my manager.
I will have a more in-depth analysis and update for you tomorrow.
I truly apologize for the inconvenience, as well as the delay on my end.
I will be sure to notify you immediately upon getting my updates in from underwriting and processing.
You will hear from me tomorrow as soon as I have a complete review on everything and where we stand.
Warmest Regards,
***

Please allow 2 business days to complete the additional requests.
can you please assist me in adding this to the complaint. We are issuing the 500 dollars:

I would like to share positive experience I have had with Paramount Equity Mortgage and in particular with Austin B. We had been working with another CO. and had been getting a bit of a run around and we had mortgage with this Co. in the past. When by chance I had a call from Paramount and was turned over to Austin and the refinance went great.
Thanks so much Paramount and Austin
John, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Austin and the team here at Paramount. We're happy to hear we could take a bit of a mess and turn it into something positive for you. Thank for you choosing Paramount for your financial services needs, we look forward to assisting you in the future.

The mortgage specialist provided excellent customer service throughout the entire process. Only short coming to the process was the time it took underwriting to complete their review. U/W was just not as fast as the rest of the process.
Well what can I say just that Paramount Equity Mortgage is simply that PARAMOUNT! The customer service is off the charts, these guys work extremely hard to the loan done, fast communication, and stress level on getting a refinance done in my small window was very very minimal. Shout out to my Loan Officer Patrick C, if you want a Loan Officer that will fight for you and stay with you and follow up and do what needs to be done to close a loan this is your guy. Also, shout out to Andrea S, she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the closing forms and working through some minor set backs with closing. All and all this California based company hit on all 5 stars for me and my family, low rate and low payment and minimal closing cost (shocking). I'm from Texas, and all my future loan closings, will be done through Paramount Equity Mortgage and passing the good word onto family and friends. This company and it's employees is what you want in a mortgage business hands down! Thank you again!
