Tell u Complaint# [redacted]Consumer: [redacted]? We are in receipt of the consumer complaint filed by [redacted] in connection with their Intelius’ Premiere Plus Membership? Intelius customers are presented with a two-tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius
websiteEach offer includes the standard full one-time purchase price and a second discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membershipIf the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membershipHowever, if the user does not cancel, the member is enrolled in the Premier Plus membership and their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $(plus applicable taxes) going forward? Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier Plus membership offer.? Below, I have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified [redacted] of the membership offer and details.? On November 17, 2017, [redacted] purchased a discounted People Search Plus report in the amount of $6.95, which included a 7-day trial membership of the Premier Plus membership[redacted] was notified of this offer and trial membership when they selected this report type and again on the payment information pageAdditionally, they were required to manually select a checkbox on the payment information page before they could complete their report purchase that specifically notified them of the offer and the membership terms, including that their credit or debit card would be charged $(plus applicable taxes) if they did not cancel the 7-day trial membership, a phone number to cancel their membership, that their membership benefits would continue through the last month for which they paid and that there are no refunds or partial month credits[redacted] was presented with language in the same checkbox that by clicking the button to purchase, they agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (with hyperlinks to each)A copy of the purchase page is attached for your review? The “Automatic Renewal Program” section located under the “Paid Services” portion of the Terms of Service states: ? “Upon your acceptance of an offer for the purchase of any subscription-based Paid Services, you will be enrolled in our automatic renewal program to help ensure that there is no interruption in your access to such Paid ServicesUnder this program, you authorize us to automatically renew your subscription at the end of the term of the subscription you purchased, and each subsequent term, for the same term length of the subscription you initially purchased (unless otherwise stated in the offer you accepted)Unless you change your renewal status as described below, at the time of each such renewal you authorize us to charge your designated Payment Method at the then-current, non-promotional price (unless otherwise stated in the offer you accepted) for the renewal of your subscriptionIf you no longer want to be enrolled in our automatic renewal program, you can change your renewal status at any time by completing the following steps:? ·? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Intelius.com ??" cancelling your membership on the My Account portion of the Intelius.com Website or by calling (888) 445-2727.? Please note that completing these steps will only stop future automatic renewals of your subscription and will not impact any automatic renewals that occurred prior to the date that you completed these steps.”? Shortly after the report purchase, [redacted] would have received a receipt confirmation email sent to the email address associated with their Intelius accountThis email contained the amount paid for the report and the Intelius Premier Plus membership terms and conditions and instructions on how to cancel the trial membership? According to our records, [redacted] did not opt out of the Intelius Premier Plus membership or contact the Intelius Customer Care team about their membership prior to the expiration of the trial membershipAs a result, their credit or debit card was charged $on December 10, at 2:am in accordance with the disclosures and the Terms of Service that they agreed to during the initial purchase.? On December 10, at 10:am, [redacted] cancelled their paid membership via the Intelius websitePer the Terms of Service, Intelius has a no refund policy, however as a courtesy, an Intelius customer care representative who spoke to MrLuca via telephone on December 15, granted [redacted] a refund of the membership fee in the amount of $[redacted] should note this refund on their account within the next to days, depending on their financial institution’s billing cycle and internal refund policy? This information should successfully resolve [redacted]’s complaintShould your office or [redacted] have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me at [email protected], ? Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: The business is talking about something that happened years ago and for which I was not billed directly from the companyIt makes no senseIf I receive a charge back, I contact the client and ask for an explanationI do not simply refuse, I cannot even if I wanted to, stop working on that matterFurther, I would like to see what was the, "report" from years ago and the time frameMy credit score when last reviewed is over 800, I pay my bills unless there is some problem with the merchandiseCannot understand this response from the merchantI best guess would be that the,"report" came late,This is the only reason I can imagine for not paying for it, and I would have notified the merchaht of my reason for refusing.? Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me but with some comments I would like you to take in mindIntellius in their response to my complaint, mentioned a second refund of that will show in to days in my bank account, in that order of ideas, I would like the Revdex.com to keep open my complaint file until that happens, or to give me options, based on your experience to protect my consumer interests and rights, so I don't have to file another complaint in case I don't get that money in my accountBecause It will be one month to two months for that to happenOther than that, I find the resolution satisfactory.for?
