This company sent me a notice right after filing my LLC with Idaho, claiming that I needed to pay them 73.50 and send in a form to verify my physical address and receive a certificate of existence. I called the Idaho Department of Labor and they informed me that this was a fraudulent company, and that I had been scammed. Now the phone number doesn't work, and I can't get my money back because I wrote a check to these douche bags. I'm not sure if there's anything you can do, but *** these scamming jerks. Thanks
Other (requires explanation) I would love to get my money back, since these sleezebags don't actually do anything.
SCAM!!!! We hired an attorney to setup our LLC. Everything was filed and official when we received a document that appeared to be official?
I don't usually file complaints, but I wanted to potentially help save someone else... We received a document titled "2020 CERTIFICATE OF EXISTENCE REQUEST FORM." I almost paid the $90.50 they requested until I called the attorney that setup our LLC, thank goodness he stopped me! The website was:
No resolution, just wanted to help others!
I registered two companies with Montana Secretary of State on May 18, 2020 and received two notices the same week from MT Certificate Service dated May 19, one day later... The envelope says: Important - Open Immediately. The email on the enclosed form is addressed to CertificateFilingService.com requesting $77.50 per filing for a "2020 Certificate of Existence" - wow, looks official and is totally bogus. I am warning Montanans and anyone else to steer clear of this company. I have never received a request like this before and have been filing with MT Secretray of State since 2005. I did my due diligence on this company to verify and they are registered out of Florida and in the case of this NEW Montana company called MT Certificate Service, their filing date was just 4 months ago, January 8, 2020.
My complaint is similar to other complaints here. I am receiving a bill stating that I owe $83.50 for filing in regards my new company in TN.
I just received (12/27/2019) in the mail a bill to pay $83.50 to this company that tries to come off as some sort of official agency of the state of TN. The appear to have no real merit or service in regards to my recent actions to start a new company in Tennessee. They refer to themselves as "TN Certificate Service" at 2817 West End Ave, Suite 126-387, Nashville, TN, 37203. Proving a ph at 833-492-6653.
Shut them down.
Company is wildly misleading and not forthcoming with the truth.
Same complaint as the others. I was sent what appeared to be an official state form asking for $83.50 for a Certificate of Existence. As this is my first time starting a business I placed it at the top of my to do list. Thankfully I had a question and this is where THREE things happened that made me suspicious. 1) the company address was not capitalized. Surely a government agency would be professional enough to capitalize West End Ave (not west end ave). 2) The number I called began with 833. Again, nearly all Nashville government agencies begin with 615. 3) I spoke to two people on the phone and they were very vague with their answers and overall just sounded fishy. Lo and behold, I looked over the form in detail and there it was, in teeny tiny writing: This is not a government agency. Folks, just go online and pay the STATE $20 for your Certificate of Existence. What a shady way to make a living.
I simply want this info posted on the Revdex.com. I will contact the appropriate agencies for further action against this SCAM.
Received letter from "NC Certificate Service" asking $74.50 for "2019 Certificate of Existence Request Form" made to look like from NC sec of state
Very deceptive. I own several LLC's and was still almost fooled into sending money to this fraudulent company. It was definitely made to impersonate official state correspondence.
These folks should not be allowed to impersonate state agencies. I am sure they have defrauded multiple small businesses.
Same complaint as the others, only this was for TN corporation filing.
Directly after filing received an official looking request from "Tennessee Certificate Service" for a "TN Certificate of Existence" for $83.50
I would like to know how this fraud could be perpetuated on young, naive entrepreneurs since 2017. How can it be stopped? What government agency can this be reported to in order to prosecute these criminals?
Requesting payment for something I do not need and making the request look official as if it came from the state of North Carolina.

No contact and no solicitation.
I paid for a 2018 Certificate of Status for my new business back on 9/1/2018 and I have never received it.
I started my business on September 6,2018 and within a week this 2018 Certificate of Status Request Form came, it says.
Congratulations! on registering your business with the State of Florida. Your articles have been filed with the Secretary of State and are complete. You have one step left in order to attain your elective Florida Certificate of Status and corporation agreement templates. Below is a form for your newly registered business. Please confirm the accuracy of the information below for your Certificate of Status request with template agreement.
A Florida Certificate of Status is issued by the Secretary of State and may be required for loans, to renew business licenses, or for other business purposes. A Certificate of Status certifies that your Florida business is in existence, is authorized to transact business in the State and complies with all state requirements. The Certificate of Status shows the official evidence of an entity's existence and provides a statement of entity's status, current legal name and the date of formation. The Certificate of Status bears the official seal of the Florida Secretary of State. If you have already ordered this years Certificate of Status, please disregard this letter.
Company Name xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Document Number xxxxxxxxxx
Certificate of Status Fee: $78.42, which I mailed out my check to CFS for $78.42
Since the letter also had my document number listed on it, it seemed real and ligament. As of today 12/11/2018, I have not received such a Certificate.
Please stop whoever is doing this to innocent people just trying to make a living, and trying to make that living in a responsible way, we should not have to be taken advantage of. Whoever is doing this is a crook and thief, and should be held accountable for what they are doing to all these new business owners that believe they need to have this document, as I did. I called the State Department and found out they do not send anyone a letter regarding the Certificate, but you certainly can get one through them if you would like one, but it is not necessary.
I would like the Revdex.com to investigate this issue, I see that there has been many complaints about the same issue and the same company. These people need to be stopped..
Deceptive and predatory mass mailings
My son filed for a business license via *** The process identified the business certificate would be $10. We paid that and approximately 3 weeks later we receive a rather official looking letter that leads the recipient to believe another $78.42 is due to complete the process. This type of predatory mailing is immoral and clearly the brainchild of someone that can't make it on their own so they prey on those new to the business world.
I've done a little research and these business leeches have been around for years. Why hasn't the State of Florida shut them down?
SHUT THEM DOWN
One star because negative stars not an option. I HATE places that attempt to deceive and prey on business people! That is ALL this is. I'd be real surprised to find out they ever even send any type of "certificate" for the $78.42 they charge. This is the second one of these I've received in the mail after filing for my LLC in Fla.
Within a week of filing my fictitious business name, received an official letter stating that I needed to purchase a Certificate of Status for $78.42
Within a week of filing my fictitious business name, received an official letter stating that I needed to purchase a Certificate of Status for $78.42. This seemed strange since when I filed my dba with the State of Florida (sunbiz.org; Division of Corporations), the website said that a Certificate of Status is not required and only charged $10.00 if you wanted to purchase one. The State of Florida website also clearly stated that these kinds of notices (which look quite official) are scams and that the State of Florida does not require you to purchase a Certificate of Status. This has apparently been going on for years - why hasn't it been shut down?
Shut down this scam.
Scammer! Looking at the previous reviews, I will note that they've RAISED their price to 78.42 to request a Certificate of Status that I can get directly from the State of Florida myself.
MISLEADING AND UNETHICAL SOLICITATIONS
RECEIVED A CERTIFICATE OF STATUS REQUEST FORM THAT GIVES THE APPEARANCE THAT A CERTIFICATE OF STATUS IS REQUIRED TO OBTAINED FOR A NEW LLC THAT WAS ESTABLISHED THAT I'M A MEMBER OF. FORTUNATELY, I'M EDUCATED TO KNOW THIS IS NOT REQUIRED AND IF I WANTED THE CERTIFICATE OF STATUS I COULD OBTAIN MYSELF MORE EFFICIENTLY AND EASIER FOR MORE THAT 50% LESS THAN THEIR FEE.
FOR THEM TO ADVERTISE AND SOLICIT IN A MORE TRANSPARENT AND ETHICAL BUSINESS MANNER
They sent me a letter demanding $61.25 for a status certificate I already applied for. Bad business.
I just filed for my business incorporation paperwork on 05/11, received notice that it was processed on 05/14 and I received a notice from Certificate Filing Service on 05/15! I'm not even sure how that's possible, but scam artists have nothing but time on their hands so I guess that would explain it.Upon initially viewing the envelope and visible portion of the letter through the glass window in the envelope, it looked like a very "official" form. I opened the letter immediately and less than three sentences into it, I smelled a rat. It claims that I had one step left in order to obtain my Certificate of Status, but that was the giveaway to it being a scam, because I paid to receive this (and did) immediately after registering my business online. The next giveaway was the Certificate of Status Fee of 78.42. Why on Earth so much, when it was only a few bucks when I filed last week? The nail in the coffin for this bogus "company" was the fine print at the bottom of the page. I know most people may not read fine print, but I do! I even try to read the fine print on television commercials! Their "disclaimer" reads as follows: Certificate Filing Service is a non-government agency and is not affiliated with the State of Florida. This is a voluntary request form." Seriously?!? If a person wants these documents, they simply have to pay a few bucks and they can have them sent electronically/immediately. So this "company" probably does just that, requests the forms online, sends them to the business owner and pockets the remaining money! And I guess that's how they circumvent being classified as a true scam, but it's still pretty screwed up! People, keep your money and print your own documents!
Received a "2018 BOC-3 Filing Request Form", requested amount for $89.42. However, reading the fine print it states that "Motor Carrier Compliance is not a government agency" Really? That was the first red flag, then at the very bottom, in the teeny tiny print I noticed "This is a voluntary request form". Please do not fall for this SCAM. I'm sending a copy to the Florida AG.
This is a scam. They send you an official looking paper after you incorporate your business in Florida. They have fine-print which maybe makes it "legal" for them to do this, but it is incredibly unethical. Shame on you Certificate Filing Service, tricking people to pay for something they get for free. Disgusting.
SCAM,,,read the fine print! Not a government agency. Do NOT give them money
Company is fraudlent. Sends letters to newly formed LLCs, often coming in same day with LLC official paperwork. Service is not legitimate.
Company is fraudlent. Sends letters to newly formed LLCs, often coming in same day with LLC official paperwork. Service is not legitimate, and the service is offered through Division of Corp in the state of FL.
None. Poor business practices/discourages trust in the state.
I think there might be some confusion, we do not go by that name or offer those services.
We are a court reporting firm. Could there have been a mix up with the address?
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This response is a clear attempt to deter the Revdex.com and other valid/legitimate services to disregard reviews and complaints made toward the service by claiming that they do not even offer the services sent in the letter (as a reminder, they offer to send you a copy of your FL certificate of status), and instead being a court service, which is not true in the least. There is no confusion with address, much like there is no confusion that the rest of the reviews left here on the Revdex.com are also true in that this company openly attempts to scam its letter recipients into paying for something that only the state can offer a true copy of.
This afternoon I was able to speak with Ms. directly regarding the matter, she is copied on this email.
She does have a legitimate complaint against Certificate Filing Service out of Fort Meyers, FL. I think the confusion stems from our company's address being listed with Certificate Filing Service's name. We are not the same company and are not affiliated in any way.
We want to ensure that the complaint ties to the correct firm, is that something you can assist with? Thank you.
