Our records indicate that you ordered a one dollar credit report along with trial membership on May 10, 2014. The membership was not cancelled; consequently, in accordance with the published terms of our offer, the credit card provided was charged our monthly membership fee on May 17, 2014. We received notification from you to cancel the membership on July 7, 2014.
Our website describes the offer and the order form details the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing at the end of the trial and monthly thereafter unless and until the customer notifies us of their wish to cancel. The consumer agrees to these terms when submitting their order.
ConsumerInfo.com(R) and its membership of Triple Advantage(R) monitors by soft inquires to the customer’s credit file as it is the customer inquiring on their own record, and as such, are not counted in credit score calculations, as do hard inquiries.
We wish to emphasize that for the duration of the membership we provided a number of benefits available to you at any time through our website, including, but not limited to, unlimited access to your credit report, as well as credit monitoring alerts which were updated daily.

They obviously did not read my complaint and provided a standard form letter in response to my complaint. They must use it a lot because they sign people up for their subscription automatically. I did not give them permission to sign me up for a subscription. I am requesting a refund of the money they charged me. They can check their system and clearly see I did not use any service except for the $1 credit report which was a separate transaction. Their response shows they do not care about customer satisfaction. They just care about deceptively taking people's money.

The details of the 7-day trial were hidden in the confirmation of the $1 product I did purchase. I have never purchased anything online that didn't include a receipt with details about what I purchased, how much I spent and other details. Experian didn't send any kind of confirmation email like that. Under the pressure of being away from home and away from my desktop computer (I bought the $1 credit checks while using a hotel computer), I was left to trust the company wouldn't raid my checking account for a product I didn't want, didn't need and certainly did not order.Also, when I called the company on April 5 to complain about this, the first question they asked was for the card number of the debit card I had placed the order ... NOT my name or other non-financial information. That threw up all kinds of red flags -- you've just raided my checking account against my wishes, and now you want to know my debit card number to raid my account again.All of these problems -- the lack of a clear statement of purchase of the original $21.95 (times two) and the request to get back into my debit card a second time led me to believe that this is nothing but a scam meant to defraud me of my money AND open the door to further scam artists. I'm shocked that they would try so hard to defend what I consider the theft of my money.

Since the complimentary trial membership was not cancelled in accordance with the published terms of our offer, the card provided was charged our monthly membership fee on March 16, 2013 Additionally, our records show that you contacted CIC on January 25, 2015, and stated that you are the holder of the Visa card, did not open the account in question and believed that the order was fraudulently placed with us by a third party utilizing your Visa card. In response, CIC cancelled the membership, and locked the account. Since you believe that the order was fraudulently placed with us by a third party, we encourage you to file a police report and to watch your accounts carefully in the event of other fraudulent use. I did not see this information anywhere when I entered my credit card information - thinking I would only be charged the $1, and assume that, if it was there, it was "buried" within the fine print. I did not know I was charged the $21.95 until it showed up in my account, conveniently AFTER the 7-day trial period. The response claims that fine print noted that I'd be charged $39.95 for a credit report and $21.95 per month for some sort of service, yet the entire site claims in numerous place and large type that $1 gives you access to your score and report. I interpreted this sale to be $1 for my credit report. I did not want, nor did I use any other services. They can't have it both ways, the report can't be both $1 and $39.95 simultaneously. This site is intentionally deceptive and I am not responsible for deliberately misleading sales techniques.
