Emergency Dental Care USA Reviews (26)

The patient came to the office in need of a dental procedure.  The doctor explained this type of procedure would require a dental lab.  The patient refused, did not want to have a lab involved, and wanted something done within the office setting.  The providing doctor strongly...

discouraged this as he couldn’t guarantee how long an in office fix would last, and explained it could last minutes, days or years.  The patient was adamant about having it fixed in the office and the doctor agreed to try and fix the appliance as long as the patient understood it couldn’t be guaranteed how long it would last.  The material used was not outdated, but as explained, was not the ideal solution to fix the appliance.    Unfortunately, the in-office treatment didn’t last and the patient called back the next day.  It was recommended for the patient to come back in so we could send the appliance to the lab and fix it the way the doctor recommended in the first place at no additional cost to the patient.  However the patient has yet to schedule an appointment so we can fix the appliance properly.

This is the most unprofessional organization I have ever had to work with. I had an emergency situation on the 4th of July weekend and as a result this was the only office I could be seen at. I had an exposed nerve and they said they could resolve my problem. They charged me $1041 out of pocket and said they were going to do a root canal and potentially put a crown on my teeth.

While in the chair for over three hours there were numerous times where the dentist and the assistants would chatter back and forth and were not certain what they were doing. The dentist did not know the name of all the instruments.

Long story short they didn't complete the root canal and I had to have my regular dentist fix the issue. When I called back a few weeks ago I communicated the issue and they told me on the phone they would refund me $925 of the $1041.They went back on their word and I am now working with their corporate office on the terrible experience.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I was in the office before 9 am, just like the office told me to be & then office had informed me prior to this visit that the bottom would be sent to the
lab and be back by noon. Which is what I wanted to do originally. Then when I got to the office and was in the dental chair, the dentist came in and we talked about the lab and that is when they
told me the process would take all day, meaning that it would not be ready till about 4 pm. I asked the dentist about acrylic and he agreed to fix it like. He never tried to discourage me in anyway
not to have it fixed with acrylic and he never explained that it might not work.  The material he used was outdated. They charged me an amount of $60.00 when I went in and then on my way out
they demanded more, which was $100.00 and I asked why and they said for the work done. If they put as much passion into their procedure as they did to get money from me, we would not be
where we are at today.

Overall I had a really bad experience, on the positive side I was able to get a same day appointment, after that, most of it is downhill, even with an appointment I was waiting for about another hour, I was from out of town so they were not willing to work with my insurance, even though I was told by them I had coverage. The staff continuously argued with me regarding my insurance and refused to accept insurance that they had affirmed over the phone. I was told by the central office that my insurance would work great, and was then told by this office that "those guys don't know what they're talking about".
I was patronized, disrespected, and not taken care of as a customer OR as a patient. I was not treated with any compassion or sympathy, even given that I was in a lot of pain.
This is not to mention the absurd waiting times. Waiting for my appointment, waiting for x-rays, waiting for an exam, waiting in the exam room for the doctor, waiting in the exam room after the exam for the PCC to return with paperwork. I left as soon as I could, refusing all attempts to make another appointment.
I then went to a different dentist. I attempted to give verbal consent to send my X-rays to the new practice; I was told I would have to pay for them. Not only is this poor patient care, but it is ACTUALLY ILLEGAL. These people should have their license suspended. You have a legal right to your X-rays. After going to a different dentist, it was confirmed that my issues were not as serious as I had been told. Misdiagnoses and overcharging, as well as literal illegal activity.
Do not go here.

Absolutely awful service. I broke my tooth on a Sunday, and went in Monday evening, the first available appointment they had. The dental hygienist took xrays and the dentist came in. He NEVER looked in my mouth at my tooth, just told me I needed a root canal, I KNEW I didn't since my nerve wasn't exposed. They were going to charge me $1,856 for a build up, root canal, consultation and xrays, because I had an over due balance, which I tried to pay 2 yrs before over the phone and they refused. So I said no, and took my business elsewhere, turns out, I needed a FILLING! Not a root canal...
