Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I was in the office before am, just like the office told me to be & then office had informed me prior to this visit that the bottom would be sent to the lab and be back by noonWhich is what I wanted to do originallyThen when I got to the office and was in the dental chair, the dentist came in and we talked about the lab and that is when they told me the process would take all day, meaning that it would not be ready till about pmI asked the dentist about acrylic and he agreed to fix it likeHe never tried to discourage me in anyway not to have it fixed with acrylic and he never explained that it might not work The material he used was outdatedThey charged me an amount of $when I went in and then on my way out they demanded more, which was $and I asked why and they said for the work doneIf they put as much passion into their procedure as they did to get money from me, we would not be where we are at today Regards, [redacted] ***
Overall I had a really bad experience, on the positive side I was able to get a same day appointment, after that, most of it is downhill, even with an appointment I was waiting for about another hour, I was from out of town so they were not willing to work with my insurance, even though I was told by them I had coverageThe staff continuously argued with me regarding my insurance and refused to accept insurance that they had affirmed over the phoneI was told by the central office that my insurance would work great, and was then told by this office that "those guys don't know what they're talking about"I was patronized, disrespected, and not taken care of as a customer OR as a patientI was not treated with any compassion or sympathy, even given that I was in a lot of painThis is not to mention the absurd waiting timesWaiting for my appointment, waiting for x-rays, waiting for an exam, waiting in the exam room for the doctor, waiting in the exam room after the exam for the PCC to return with paperworkI left as soon as I could, refusing all attempts to make another appointmentI then went to a different dentistI attempted to give verbal consent to send my X-rays to the new practice; I was told I would have to pay for themNot only is this poor patient care, but it is ACTUALLY ILLEGALThese people should have their license suspendedYou have a legal right to your X-raysAfter going to a different dentist, it was confirmed that my issues were not as serious as I had been toldMisdiagnoses and overcharging, as well as literal illegal activityDo not go here
The patient came to the office in need of a dental procedure The doctor explained this type of procedure would require a dental lab The patient refused, did not want to have a lab involved, and wanted something done within the office setting The providing doctor strongly discouraged this as he couldn’t guarantee how long an in office fix would last, and explained it could last minutes, days or years The patient was adamant about having it fixed in the office and the doctor agreed to try and fix the appliance as long as the patient understood it couldn’t be guaranteed how long it would last The material used was not outdated, but as explained, was not the ideal solution to fix the appliance Unfortunately, the in-office treatment didn’t last and the patient called back the next day It was recommended for the patient to come back in so we could send the appliance to the lab and fix it the way the doctor recommended in the first place at no additional cost to the patient However the patient has yet to schedule an appointment so we can fix the appliance properly
After months and months of waiting, the company has finally sent my refundEverything has been resolved. *** ***
I am writing this review for both charges and horrible experience
First let's talk about my experienceI had a abscessed tooth when I went hereI am terrified of dentists so we decided to pay for gasI was in the chair for almost hours (discussing money) before they finally turned on the gasI sat there for what seemed like forever, I had to go to the bathroom so the assistant turned off the gas and left the roomAfter about minutes the dentist came in (remember I had no gas at this point and still had to go to the bathroom) he just started cranking on my teethI told him it hurt horrible and he didn't care he just yanked the teeth out, after the assistant heard me screaming she finally came back inI have never experienced such horrible pain in my lifeThan the dentist went to put a stitch in, he missed 2X and poked my lip and cheekI ended up going to my regular doctor who had to give me pain pills because my jaw ended up dislocated, here we are months later and my jaw is still cracking and I still have a lump on my jaw from the trauma
Now let's talk about the billFor the first over a hour all they talked about was moneyThe assistant said it would be $125-a tooth but as soon as we were approved for Care Credit it went up over double thatThey charged me for the gas that they turned off because I had to go to the bathroomI have the actual charges they wrote it would be, what they charged Care Credit, they are the exact sameNow here we are months later and they sent me another bill stating it is over due for $moreThey called my insurance knew exactly what they would pay, wrote us exactly what they would charge and sent Care Credit the bill, now because I wrote them a truthful review months later they sent me another bill
Emergency Dental Care has charged me for more than the agreed upon amount, at first tried to tell me that I was wrong about my bill amount, and then backtracked and agreed that I was rightThey have claimed they processed a refund for the money they took from my account, but it will take 4-Weeks to processTwo weeks later, they charged my account yet again, and I'm supposed to wait another 4-weeks to see it back

The consumer does not owe any money The consumer has a zero balance
This was a service snafu on our part that is most unfortunateThe first impression given the patient (by the doctor) was that due to patient insurance double coverage it would be complicated to know for sure what the insurance would cover and what it would not? (Non-duplicating or coordinating
double coverage policies)The doctors concern was about patient out of pocket costs being understood and do-able by the patient… as the impression the doctor was given by the patient was that he wanted the work done, but expected no out of pocket cost for the visit due to his double insurance coverage, as was the case at his regular dental clinicEverything unraveled from thereMisunderstanding and misimpressions lead the doctor to believe the best help he might offer was to issue an appropriate prescription until the patient could get to their other clinic, and did not explain that effectively either
We have a relatively new person that goes over insurance and financing with patients before treatment is agreed to, and the doctor traditionally is expected to stay un-involved in that processThe doctor thinking he was being helpful to her unfortunately judged the situation inaccurately, related to insurance and payment for services requested, and unintentionally created the whole situation
Unfortunately the misunderstanding compounded between the patient and doctor before insurance and finance options had even been properly presented and explained by the appropriate personOnce this happened confidence had been lost by the patient, and efforts by the office manager to rectify the situation were unsuccessfulIn fact had the doctor not intervened, before the procedure could be followed, because we are a Delta Dental preferred provider and both policies were through Delta Dental, there would have been *no out of pocket cost by the patient, and collection for services would not have been the concern the doctor thought it might beThe procedure could have been done at the time, as the patient wanted
*Due to the large quantity of “new patients” with varied insurance companies and benefit allowances, and no way to know benefit amounts available at the time of service, all patients pay the exam and x-ray/office time in advanceIf patient insurance covers the charge they are reimbursed this charge
The $exam and x-ray and general office time service was rendered by the clinic, before the misunderstandingThat amount will be reimbursed once the insurance pays that portion of services rendered

It's unfortunate that Emergency Dental wasn't able to help out a patient that was in pain because they were not willing they were afraid of not getting paid by the insurances provided to them They wasted my time and money coming into there establishment because they were not willing to help until there were concerns raised Its too bad that you have poor customer service Sincerely,*** ***

Then when I got to the office and was in the dental chair, the dentist came in and we talked about the lab and that is when theytold me the process would take all day, meaning that it would not be ready till about 4 pm. I asked the dentist about acrylic and he agreed to fix it like. He never tried to discourage me in anywaynot to have it fixed with acrylic and he never explained that it might not work. The material he used was outdated. They charged me an amount of $60.00 when I went in and then on my way outthey demanded more, which was $100.00 and I asked why and they said for the work done. If they put as much passion into their procedure as they did to get money from me, we would not be where we are at today.

Revdex.com:I received the refund but it was not how I requested--they credited my [redacted] account instead of sending me a check for the $499 amount. This company is terrible, as you will note they...
processed the refund on January 30, 2018 and they told me they processed my refund on August 2017. Nevertheless, thank you for your work. I am glad we got the refund and we are done dealing with this poorly ran company.
