Our records indicate that this homeowner was unhappy that per the warranties, a hairline concrete crack does not justify or necessitate a replacement of the front porch. Our Quality Assurance personnel was on site on 7/21 and did a follow up on 7/23. Every discussion we had with the homeowners...
reiterated the fact that the nominal width concrete cracks are not covered under warranty. Mr. Ward indicated that he was not happy with this determination and He said he would not sign off on his paperwork. Our preliminary inspection of the roof indicated that it appeared to be within the warranty tolerances, but we committed to have a roofing company perform an inspection. We have asked 84 Lumber to perform this inspection. They haven’t completed this yet, but are tentatively set to do so this Friday, 9/25, when they are in the area for an unrelated appointment. This is the e-mail chain confirming the contact dates and information. When I requested a person to speak with - they just provided me with a response indicating that I can only submit a request in writing - which I have already done.

I am rejecting this response because:Below is the list of major problems which I sent to Dominion on 8/18/2014 and...
were never fixed, most of them were not even tried to fix. There are few other small issues as well but here I am putting only major issues which should be FIXED ASAP.1. Big Dip (depression) in the ground in the front of the home, soil is sinking.Dominion came to fix it and when I asked them if they are going to fix the backyard, this is what they said:“Since fixing front and backyard is big job so they will some other time to fix both at the same time, no point in fixing the front yard now and then coming back again for the backyard. Do not worry we will come back and fix both at the same time”.I am still waiting for them to come back and fix both.2. Depression in the ground on the side of the home.No one never came to fix it.3. Backyard slope is towards the home. Informed this so many times before as well and dominion said they will fix it in the one year call. This problem is there right from very first day and dominion always tried to push it to later date and now trying to avoid it completely and trying to go away without fixing it.4. Basement door frame should be at least 6” up from the grade (outside ground), because of this rain water comes inside. This problem is there right from very first day and most probably cannot be resolved, problems because of this:1. Rain water comes inside as backyard slope is towards the home.2. In winter snow accumulation goes above the door base.3. Cannot leave the door open, all insects and worms easily comes inside. Please give me solution of these problems.Since water comes in so there were water stains on the door frame so instead of fixing the real problem dominion painted the frame. I don’t know how painting a frame can fix water leakage.5. Backyard grade not levelled. As I mentioned in the point number 1 above, dominion never tried to fix this issue and always tried to push it to future date so that they can get rid of this without fixing it.6. Holes below the basement door frame.Never got fixed.7. Broken / very Bad quality wood on the basement steps. If such kind of wood is there where you can see it then I am not sure what kind of material is there inside the walls which cannot be seen.Good nice looking wood should have been used, atleast where it is open and visible all the time.8. Sump-pump running so many times a day even on dry days. Water pond at pump outlet. Not sure from where all this water is coming into the sump pit.My question to Dominion- There are 12 houses in my lane (including my house), why only my sump pump runs all the time? Dominion answer: Dominion has made my sump pit so deep and long that’s why I am getting more water in it.1. Why my sump pit was made so long and deep?2. Because sump pump throwing so much water all the time even in hot dry summer, there is always a pond at the water outlet which is ruining part of my backyard and also my neighbor’s backyard. They can always complain about it and I won’t be having any fix. Because water stays there for days, definitely it’s an invitation for new insects to grow which is definitely a threat. It’s been more than 3 years now HAS TO BE FIXED ASAP9. Squeaky noise all over on the kitchen and hall floor.Dominion tried to fix it, but it never got fixed, I thought I will let dominion know when they will come to fix other issues but Dominion never turned back.10. Squeaky noise on the bed room floor.Dominion tried to fix it and it got worse since they fixed it, again I thought will let dominion know when they will come back for other issues.
I am rejecting this response because: I emailed customer care on 04/08/15 and still have not gotten a response. I find it upsetting that they were able to answer this complaint promptly, but they do not respond to their customer's emails for months on end. The tree issue was initially being handled through HOA OMNI. OMNI is the Homeowners Association who handles our community. They told me that it was the City of Columbus' responsibility to replace or repair the tree. The City of Columbus stated that it is the obligation of Dominion Homes to repair the tree as the tree died within a year of being planted and it should be under warranty. My husband and I will make sure that when the technician comes out on 07/10/15 he is made aware of the tree issue. I have paperwork from the City of Columbus that details this.
