Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We still have no received the full refund of monies owed.  We have contacted the company directly time and time and time again to resolve this issue.  After many attempts to resolve with them directly with no success, I turned to the Revdex.com for assistance.  It appears that the company is attempting to skate around the issue and not accept responsibility and accountability for their actions by asking us to contact them directly versus proceeding with the Revdex.com complaint.  I do not wish to contact a customer service representative directly; however, I would be willing to discuss the matter with a member of upper level senior management.                   This letter is in response to the complaint # [redacted] submitted by [redacted]. By way of background, Defenders, Inc.  DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.   In summary, the consumer would like the services terminated.   My records show the termination fee was paid and the account has been canceled. The consumer had a valid contract on file with us. A service appointment was offered for the system issues but it was declined. Without an attempt to repair any system issues, we do have to enforce the terms of the contract.   If the consumer would like to further discuss this, I can be reached directly at 317-860-6797. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I filed a complaint against Protect Your Home on 7/20/2105 with Revdex.com. Protect Your Home indicated that I would receive a refund of 105.19 and the equipment cost of 796.88 once a service tech picked-up the equipment. The service tech picked-up the equipment several weeks ago and I have not been refunded the 796.88. My wife has called twice to request the refund be sent and the customer service agents don't provide the same answers and indicate the service tech had not entered that the equipment has been picked up in their system. We ask for the numbers of the service tech and his boss and are told we can't contact them. This issue is not our fault and we simply want our money back now that Protect Your Home has collected their faulty equipment. Below is the message Protect Your Home stated to Revdex.com. So far the full refund has not been made. Complaint ID #[redacted] MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS: July 27, 2015 Revdex.com of Central Indiana 151 N. Good Morning. I received phone call from ADT on Monday on 6/19/17 at 11:14. They decided to give me my refunds for $1271.80. They said that the refund was approved and I need to wait another 30 days. On Wednesday I tried to contact and ask if they can email  me the new decision about the refund they never called me back. How can I be sure they will return the money after so many times they have cheated me 2 times.

We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT
monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract
is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.Summation of Complaint:Owner of
complaint alleges grounds for release of contract, client states that she was
misinformed on service/product compatibility.Acknowledgement of Resolution:In regards
to Complaint #[redacted], we have
carefully reviewed the matter and bring forth the following recommendations.
Owner of complaint under “express consent,” voluntarily provided contract
signature. Her voluntary actions bind her to a “financial” duty relative to the
length of contract. Owner of complaint was provided access to the terms and conditions
of the 36 month contract.  Failing to
comply within contract’s three day opt-out period, contract holds as irrevocable
(w/limited relief) and enforceable. Our notes reflect that customer was installed
a security system on 10/02/15. Continuation of notes show that customer waited
until 10/15/15 to attempt cancellation. Therefore, placing her out of the “3
day rights of rescission” time frame. Client was clearly communicated this
information and her signature on the contract serves to signify “reasonable
person” comprehension thereof. After reviewing the initial sales call, we have
confirmed that client was made fully aware of her decision and any/all relative
consequences. I have provided notes below to serve as an account of the dispute
process. (**Let it
stand that these notes act to “only” summate communication via client and our
office, names of those involved have been removed)10/26 –The
customer alleges that she got the GSM temporarily until her home phone was
installed. She alleges that she also advised the telephone provider she
intended to get. She confirmed it would be compatible, but now the ADT
technician has advised it is not. The customer is upset she was lead on and
wants out of the contract within 30 days the dealer told her she had. I
explained there is only a 3 day cancellation that she is outside of. I reviewed
the initial sales call. Ms. Ward stated that she was planning on getting a land
line phone through UMA and that it was through the internet. The sales
representative stated that we can test it however they might not be able to use
it; if they could not use the landline service then we would hook up through
cellular uplink service that goes off cell phone towers. Called and left VM.10/26-
Client calls in and above mentioned notes are communicated to her.10/27-Schedules
a service appointment (apt scheduled for 10/28)10/28-
Tech called in and said the customer still wanted to cancel, transferred to
Escalations Dept.10/28-spoke
to tech who is at client’s home. Downgrade cannot be done because not
compatible with UMA. Explained to tech that during sales call, client was
advised that once she was installed with UMA that we would try and connect to
it but if it were not compatible then she would have to remain with cellular service.
Client proceeded with install before having home phone installed and signed
contract agreeing to cell service. Advised tech that this is not grounds for
cancellation. Offered to add (2) 4200 Visa cards however, client is responsible
for contract terms and conditions. Added (2) visas to account, allow 7-15
business days.10/30-called
in about needing to downgrade-schedule tech (11/3-redo paperwork, removing
protection plan-$27.99)11/4-
Client called in about MMR (monthly monitoring rate) not being reflected on
recent payment withdrawn from her account on 11/3. Contacted ADT billing who
advised they do not have updated contract on file yet.11/4-
Client called in to inquire about refund because paperwork and refund. Advised
customer that the paper work hasn’t been processed just yet since that was just
done yesterday but called ADT billing who was willing to process customer
refund back to card due to overdraft.*Further
research reflects that (2) $100 Visa gift cards were shipped on 11/4/15. Again,
please allow up to 14 business days to receive.*Further
research reflects that a refund (via ADT-$53.50) was credited to client’s bank
account on 11/10/15. This may take up to 7-10 business days to properly
reflect.If
client’s decision is to cancel services, client immediately becomes responsible
for the balance of contract. To date, this amount is $1219.62. The amount has
been calculated based on the original contract. We have not received the new
signed agreement and cannot prematurely refer to it.  Regardless of the final outcome, we will not
remove the system from the client’s home. We ask that you refer to the contract
in which it states equipment becomes that of the account holder after lapse of
“3 day rights of rescission.” Any further billing discrepancies, should be
rerouted directly to ADT, as they manage the client’s billing. They may be
contacted @ 800 369 0996 (press option 1).Our
primary goal is to reach a reasonable resolution and terminate the business
relationship on amicable ground. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience
this matter has contributed.Regards,Customer

Lastly, she states no one told her about a permit and that she was not provided the option to obtain it herself.   Ms. [redacted] contacted Protect Your on January 3, 2017 in regards to an ADT monitored alarm system. She paid $105.19 for the installation fee which is $99 plus her local sales tax. She was advised that the amount being charged to her that day was $105.19. Also, she was informed that her state, county or local municipality and/or police department may require permits for the installation and/or operation of my security alarm system. She was advised that if permits are required, Defenders, Inc. dba Protect Your Home will cover the initial cost and then invoice me for the permit fee, unless my municipality requires her to obtain it directly. She was also informed that she is responsible for completing any steps mandated by my municipality including, but not limited to, an inspection of my security alarm system. Not only was this advised to her on January 3rd, she also signed a document on January 6th stating that she was made aware of this. Her local municipality requires Protect Your Home to apply for this permit. Protect Your Home paid for it and is not invoicing her. We do not make any money off of this transaction. Ms. [redacted] will be responsible for paying for her electrical permit. If she would like to research the permit requirements, she can visit http://www.town.billerica.ma.us/133/Building-Department.   In regards to the incentive shipping and handling costs, it is disclosed in our advertisements. Dear Ms. [redacted],
This letter is in response to the complaint #[redacted] filed by [redacted]. By way of background, Defender Security Company DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.
We have researched into Ms. [redacted] complaint regarding [redacted] and located her account.  Our records show we installed an alarm system for Mrs. [redacted] on September 3, 2014.   On October 14, 2014, we received a call from [redacted] who claimed to be Mrs. [redacted]’s Power of Attorney.  She claimed Mrs. [redacted] was taken advantage of and requested the account be closed.
In reviewing her account, it does show we did perform full disclosure during the sales call.  However, I have agreed to release the contract and waive the balance owed.  I did call and speak with Mrs. [redacted] and confirmed the contract was being waived.  We scheduled the equipment removal for November 1, 2014 and her equipment costs will be refunded after the pull.  A refund for her install cost of $106.38 was entered today.
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that the consumer may have experienced and we appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns.
Sincerely,
Customer Advocate
