I have a sign on my door that states no printed materials at all are allowed.
If this company employs people that are to stupid to read then how can they be trusted to operate a business. One of their employees left a door hanger soliciting business from me. My sign is less than 18 inches way from the door [redacted]. Either this is a willful disregard my wishes or it is an attack ad targeting seniors.
This company needs to respect other peoples property it is NOT OK to leave solicitations when there is a sign stating solicitations are not wanted.
I will do all in my power to convince my neighbors to NEVER use this companies services.
Improper estimate provided and unprofessional handling of my concerns.I hired college hunks for the second time to move a 1 bedroom from 2 story home to a 3rd floor apartment. When I called to schedule the move the woman advised that my last move took 3.5 hours, therefore, moving up to a 3rd floor may be up to 4.5-5 hours. I advised I had the same furniture but one less bedroom than before and less boxes. There were fewer items to move then the first time I hired College Hunks which that move took 3.5 hours. When the two movers arrived on the day of the move 3/20/2015, they assessed the items I had to move, went over the paperwork, hourly rate and travel fee but did not provide an estimate of how long the move would take. The last move in 2014, the 2 men wrapped all furniture and they both starting loading the truck which could be why they were so efficient. This time, the new crew (2) one wrapped furniture while the other moved boxes in the truck. I was concerned it took 3 hours to load the truck. The location was less than 5 miles away. It took them 3.5 - 4 hours to unload the truck. I agree there was some difficulty to move in the couch, which maintenance promptly arrived to remove the door as the crew did not have the proper tools to do so. I am upset as a 1 bedroom move took 7.5 hours when my last move took 3.5 hours and I had 2 bedrooms and more boxes. The crew that moved me on 3/20/15 stated the woman who takes the scheduling provides inaccurate estimates all the time. I also shared these concerns with the franchise manager, who agreed and advised he would have this addressed. He told me the owner will not refund me any money for the over charge of the moving costs. He did provide the owners contact information and when I reached out to Mr. Roper about my concerns, he became combative and told me I was frustrated with myself for providing inaccurate information to his estimator. I tried to reach out to corporate to resolve the matter and they refused to assist me and referred me back to the owner. Since my last conversation was not a pleasant one, I am filing a complaint with the Revdex.com to have this resolved. Thank you.Desired SettlementRefund 2 hours at an estimate of $230 plus taxes and fees.Business Response We apologize that [redacted] feels the way she does. However, phone estimates are non-binding. Estimates are based on an over the phone conversation where we attempt to access an approximate amount of time that it will take our movers to move items from the customer over the phone. During our conversations with [redacted], she admitted that our Hunks (movers) not only worked hard, but also with great care to move her belongings. The Maximum Rate Tariff governing Household Moves within the State of NC states that phone estimates are non-binding. It is impossible to be able to access all aspects of a move when we cannot observe the physical surroundings of a move. Moving from one 3rd floor to another 3rd floor apartment with the elevator out of order and having an additional walk up the stars is difficult to be assess. Our men had to wait a half hour for the buildings maintenance department to remove a door to the apartment to get an extra large sofa through the doorway. Our Hunks are professionals who worked hard and completed a very difficult move. We cannot predetermine exact estimates over the phone. While we always use experience with previous and moves similar, not two moves are alike. As I have mentioned to [redacted], there is not refund to be offered. I suggest that [redacted] consult with the Utilities Commission and review the Maximum Rate Tariff as this regulates the Moving Industry. We abide by all rules and do our best to always be up-front with our estimates. Best regards. Consumer Response I disagree with the business' response. I was advised that the movers should have given me an estimate upon arrival and they did not. It did not take maintenance a half over to remove the door it took them 10-minutes, the owner is responding with inaccurate information with further proves my point that I am not being given ethical service. I had to wait for the movers to come back up after taking a ciggarette break to move the couch with took them 15-mins to return from the truck. I moved from a 2 story townhome to a 3rd floor apartment not a 3rd floor home. This was also given to the estimator at the time of the move. For ther owner to respond with false information is another reason why I feel I should be compensated for being scammed into a 7.5hr move in which the movers were slower than the last crew I hired.Final Business Response We are not going to be arguing over matters that are not worthy of arguing. We are an ethical company. We provided a quality move and the information that my men provided, I believe to be true. I have a signed contract that states that [redacted] understands that she had a non-binding estimate and gave permission to proceed with the move. Best regards.
