Same story as the others! My apartment doesn't have an intercom so I accidentally buzzed this fast talking woman inShe was nice and I fell for the sob story about trying to turn her life around and go to collegeShe was going on and on about points and then asked me to buy subscriptions or buy them to donate to a children's charityI reluctantly agreed to oneShe told me it would be $and then mumbled something about getting a little extra money for Starbucks (red flag) and then the amount jumped to $when she wrote the actual receipt (payable by check/cash only)I had a gut feeling this was a huge scamShe was talking so fast it took me minutes to figure out what she actually wantedIt was dumb of me but I was too polite to shut the door on her to make her go awayAs soon as she left, I googled the company and found this and was horrifiedI canceled the check immediately but have serious concerns about her having my account informationI am thinking of reporting her to the policeLesson learned!!

HelloMy name is [redacted] and I was hoodwinked by a gentleman going by the name of Brian S*He visited my home on September ,I purchased a gift subscriptionThen I cancelled my orderLow and behold the che k cleared my bank 9/This groupSends a bunch of hustlers door to door usually during dinner hourThey talk a smooth gameAlways say they are from out of stateThis kid said born and raised in Chicago but had zero accentThese people are garbageShut the door in their face and move onDon't be a fool

Sadly I read the reviews a day after the factThe review about the sad background story and trying to get ahead could have been written by me except I live in CTI did feel pressured and now I feel duped for being so gullible and taken advantage ofShe was a good salesman and I feel I was fooledI may go to the bank and discuss canceling this check but I probably won't because maybe it will help this girl and I do believe in KarmaShe may be legitand the company is taking advantage of her or if not...KarmaI have learned from this experience and hope whoever reads this is helpedThose negative reviews were all accurate

[redacted]  is a awesome man he has a plan and very ambitious young people need to listen to him it takes help to recognize your good deeds for others we don't all come from the same backgrounds so it was a pleasure to make a difference faith the size of mustard seeds moves mountains God bless his heart help this young man out

I am among the many who foolishly purchased a magazine subscription from a door-to-door salesman for PS Circulation It is a scam -- you can find complaints all over the internet But there's good news: you can get your money back, eventually I paid $on April for a magazine and never received it Three months later, when I emailed them, they told me they'd had my address wrong, and said to allow another 4-weeks for delivery It never came, but when I got around to trying again, in December, they processed a refund, and I got my check for the full amount today (Jan8) It has cleared at my bank If you've ordered from them, cancel right away -- you have three days to get a cancellation request in the mail It might work (I didn't research the company in time to try) But above all, KEEP A COPY OF YOUR RECEIPT When they processed my refund, they asked for a copy of it, and also of my cleared check Make sure you keep these records, and don't send them anything but copies Since I got my money back, you could call this a "neutral" experience, but I wouldn't -- obviously, they are trying to take your money, give you nothing, and then throw delays and obstacles in your path to get your money back They are counting on you to drop the ball, so stay persistent and keep your records

A young man from PS Circulation came to my door to offer his productsI told him I had the flu and that the sign hung on a nail on my door clearly said "NO SOLICITORS"He talked over me, was pushy and refused to leave, so I told him, "Sorry", and closed the doorHe lingered at my door for half a minute and then leftLater on I discovered that my "NO SOLICITORS" sign was missingNo one else had been to my doorI'm accusing this young man of theft

salespeople from PS Circulation came to my door last night selling magazine subscriptionsInitially, I agreed, but the cost was too muchEventually, I agreed to a subscription for $I signed a receipt and wrote out a checkIn the end, I did not by the subscriptionI read numerous complaints online with similar situationsI am concerned that he has my name and address, and might send a bill

Last summer a really awesome guy came to my home to sell magazinesI did not need any for myself, however the guy told me I could select a couple to send to local Boys and Girls ClubSo, time goes by and I notice the magazines all in my recycling cabinetMy daughter thought they were junk mailI contacted the company, told them what happened, the asked me to send a copy of my check and the receipt and within days I had a full refundI was honestly shocked

Fraudulent A solicitor intercepted my year old husband while he was taking out our garbage bins on a rainy night, followed him to the front door, and managed to extract $from him The phone numbers listed on the "receipt" are fraudulent One is in Florida and the woman on the phone said it is a private residence; another is out of service I called the bank to stop the check, and I called the police My husband has early Alzheimer's, and I consider this business immoral for haranguing money out of him

The internal scam-o-meter in my brain was on full blast as I listened to the kids at my door pitching the hardship of their life stories and the redemptive power of the almighty magazine subscription I listened, challenged them a bit, got them past their well practiced talking points and into a more natural conversation Ultimately I decided order an extension on an existing subscription of mineDid I consider cancelling the check once the door closed? Yup But it was only $and I really liked these two guys and wanted to believe themHappy to report I just called the magazine subscription line for my publication and was told they did indeed receive an order for extension of my magazine for the coming years!!

I heard repeated and insistent heavy knocking on my door one Saturday, and opened it to a young man and woman who immediately started in on stories about trying to better their lives through "the program"They did a really good job, actually, of gaining my sympathy with stories of needing to feed children back home and wanting to stay off the streets while doing a "legitimate" job that would arm them with skills for a careerI invited them in (it was cold outside!) and the conversation was actually really pleasantThen they started trying to sell me on their magazine subscriptions and that's where it became really confusingThe belaminated sheet that showcased their available magazines had no recognizable titles and they kept talking in terms of "points" and "goals"I finally asked what it would take to help them, and they directed to me to an ungodly expensive package (the "lowest available amount") of magazine subscriptions for $Their stories were so compelling, I took the bait and wrote a check with the agreement to have these no-name magazine sent to local charities and hospitalsI was given a receipt and instructions on how to cancel if I wanted to, but the lovely salesgirl hoped I wouldn't
After they left, I immediately googled the company I had written a check to and realized I had been dupedBut the worst part? These poor kids had been duped, tooI read horrific stories of people being "trapped" in these magazine selling scams--people who really did want to better their livesI also read how cancelling a subscription isn't enough--these companies will still cash your check and take your money without hesitation
So with my own bit of hesitation, I sent in the cancellation form and put a stop payment on my checkLooking back, I wish I would have just given each of them $and sent them on their waythey need help, but not from a predatory company like this one

Two African American knocked on my door, and started talking with meI had no idea what was going on; the mentioned something about votingSo I didn't close the door on themThey told me that they are training to work, and having personal interactions and conversations to get better at their people skillsSO I let them keep talking to meThey kept asking me weird questions like do I dance? Is this my house? How old am I? In the end they told me to look at a list of magazines (I was still unsure what they wanted)They said my neighbor had done itI asked if it was a donation- they said no donationsThen they asked me to buy magazines, either for myself or as a gift for organizations that could use themI felt pressured, and wanted to do a good deedThey told me I could cancel and gave me a receiptLike a dummy, I wrote them a check for the cheapest amount $($taxes and fees)They told me they make a commission off of the subscription and that its a reduced priceAfterwards, I had a bad feeling and googled themSure enough, they're a scamI immediately canceled my payment and I am going to close my accountI also sent in my cancelation request formMy guess is that they won't respondSo if this happens to you- CANCEL YOUR CHECK IMMEDIATELY!!
I feel so dumb! I cant believe I fell for it, wowThe hwole things SUCH a scam- its obvious from the beginningThey prey on gullible people like me; be wearyThey're in Chicago Illinois

resolution to this matterA check in the amount of $will be mailed to Mr*** for this purposeWe have also enclosed a copy of the refund check for your records If any further information is needed please feel free to contact me

I ordered "PC World" magazine on May 15th of this year and received "Macworld" 1/months laterI immediately cancelled and am due an $refund from the publisher after one issue while the subscription cost $+ $for processing and handling
I really wish I would have checked online before ordering anythingFrom now on I'll ask anyone going door-to-door to come back after I have time to checkI already to this for non-profits who call

They use smart door-to-door sales people with a clever pitch to sell you magazines at a HUGE MARKUP! Its a BAD deal! Neighborhoods should actively protect their residents and tell these sales people to move on and stay out!
