Cheap Caribbean refuses to answer the phone. I have been calling for a week straight with wait times over 5 hours. I keep holding on and holding with no resolution. There is a world wide pandemic and I will not be traveling in the near future. I finally reached someone to explain that I wanted a full refund after calling daily and waiting for 4 hours. They told me I would have to speak to a different department and they would transfer my call. I waited another 2 hours and then the phone was disconnected. There is absolutely no customer service or attempt to remedy this situation. I have also sent emails to which I have received no reply. This company is refusing to communicate.

I purchased a trip from Cheap Caribbean and planned to go on April 19th. Now that we have a pandemic across the nation, it is strongly advised not to travel and I fear that travel bans are on the rise. I tried contacting Cheap Caribbean for weeks now and was left on hold for hours (3.5 hours one day) and did not speak to a single person. I also tried emailing and never got any response. I was able to finally get in touch with someone (after holding for 2 hours) and the woman told me they are a “non-refundable” company and will not give refunds even with a nationwide health crisis. I have heard of several travel companies giving out refunds to their customers due to the coronavirus and this is just absurd to hear from cheap Caribbean. I would appreciate all the advice you have on what to do to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance.

We booked a trip before the coronavirus pandemic. We are traveling with a child that has a low immune system and I have been trying to cancel or reschedule the trip for 2 days. I am told how long I will be on hold and it is NOT so. Yesterday I was on hold for over 7 hours and NO answer. I had to hang up. I got up at 4:00 am this morning and called. I was told my wait time was 7 minutes. It has been almost 4 hours and still no answer. I have used Cheapcaribbean to book trips in the past, but I will NEVER use them again!!!

I have been waiting on hold with cheapcaribbean.com for 7:18:29 hours today and over 3 hours yesterday to cancel my Jamaican trip due to the Coronavirus. With no trouble reaching the airlines to inquire about flight cancellation fees, I find it outrageous that cheapcaribbean.com will not answer their phone lines for cancellations. Attached please find a screenshot of my phone call today.
This complete lack of customer service during the Coronavirus outbreak is unforgivable. I intend to call my credit card company to refund my vacation trip.
Perhaps the company can explain what their phone/refund/cancellation policies were/are during this difficult time.
Thank you for your help Revdex.com with this matter.
Sincerely,
Unhappy Vacation Traveler with cheapcaribbean.com

In the midst of COVID19 we tried to get thru days in a row to cancel a trip. They charged us a 800 dollar cancellation fee saying they need 48 hours notice but did not send emails or anything. We sat on hold for 3 hours to be hung up on 3/15. We sat for 5 hours today 3/16 but then tried calling sales who said we should have gotten an email and someone answers in 2 min. Transfers us to another line sits almost 2 hours just to be told we took to long to cancel. They are total RIP offs.
I booked a trip to Los Cabos in January and I was put on a payment plan . The total cost of the trip was 1497 per person for me and my friend . They gave us an option to pay a hefty down payment or pay in full . We opted for the down payment which was 824.00 per person and the balance due by April 30th . The trip is on May 21st -May 26th . In light of the recent COVID 19 virus I guess they got a lot of cancellations which bought the total amount of the trip down to 903.00 per person . I called to ask if they could mark me paid in full in light of the price drop and I also paid an additional 500.00 which means I paid over 2100.00 in total . They are telling me they can’t do that and to cancel they would have to charge me 1500 cancellation fee. I travel with them every year and feel as though I am being penalized for booking in advance . If they can not make it paid in full I would like a refund without a 1500.00 cancellation fee .
Booked online. Declined the Travel Insurance and agreed to the Terms and Condition prior to booking.
3/16/20 client called to ask the reason why the pricing of today is different. She want states that is unfair that the people that is booking right now is getting a better price than what she had. Advised that prices are subject to change. Spoke to a supervisor as well and advised as agent had. No changes made to this booking
3/27/20 client contacted us and cancelled the reservation. A CheapCaribbean.com Future credit will be issued to the client in the amount of 642.55 and an air credit of 2597.64 with an expiration of 2/11/21. Client also inquired about adding insurance when rebooking and advised this could be done.
An email will be sent to the client confirming the cancellation along with the CheapCaribbean.com Future Credit Voucher for the client’s records. We apologize due to currently volume this email may take longer then expect to receive.
Once again, we reiterate our sincere apologizes for any inconveniences they may have encountered during this time. Our aim is always to provide the best service and we hope that they will give us another opportunity to prove this.
Hello,
I booked a trip to Mexico through cheap caribbean on 2/24/2020 paid in full including the enhanced travel protection. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and National state of emergency I have been trying to reach cheap caribbean to cancel my vacation. I am a healthcare professional and with 14 day quarantine guidelines, no travel restrictions being put in place I can not take this trip. This is National news and has affected the entire United States. Booking ID 32674302, I called customer service 800 915 2322 and held TWICE for 5 hours and was hung up on. I sent several emails and received instructions back to “change” my reservation for a one year credit or file a claim and receive a full refund. I submitted the 10 page claim, with credit card statement attached as well as booking email. I then received an email stating I should have received instructions on how to cancel. I told them what I did and they responded that I needed to call back customer service and follow the prompts and hold. This is totally unacceptable! I followed proper protocol, submitted all required documents and to no avail my reservation is still not canceled and my trip is THIS Friday March 20th 2020. I received a phone call today from the transfers department confirming my airport transfers for Friday in Mexico. I explained that I canceled and they said that I need to speak with someone at Cheap Caribbean. I have been working non stop at hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities trying to ensure my patients are safe and I do not have 5 hours to hold for a representative. I understand this is new but what happens during hurricane season? Is there not protocols in place to assist customers. All I want is my reservation to be canceled and a full refund. Please help
Thank you

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: the customer service representative told me my only options were to receive a credit for one year or I had to file an insurance claim. There were no other options for me. The representative Shaina said she would cancel the resort and airfare which I would receive a refund for but I needed to contact the insurance company regarding the other portion of the refund. Today is 3/26/2020 and the only letter I received was regarding a cancellation with absolutely no mention of a refund at all. I filed a claim with the insurance company on 3/15/2020; claim number *** and have heard nothing from them. This is unacceptable as I paid for my trip in full
Regards
My husband and I booked our honeymoon in January 2020 for a trip in March 2020. We paid in full. Now, with the global issue we have decided not to go on the trip due to the Coronavirus. I have spent hours after hours on hold, I have sent emails and I cannot get anyone on the line or to respond to my emails.

We contacted them for a change in travel plans because of the COVID-19 outbreak. We have been holding on the phone for 7 hours. This is the worst customer service I have ever had. We didn’t want to cancel our plans just push the date a bit. All we wanted was to see what our options are.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty with the current global crisis this company is unwilling to work with us on helping determine what/when might be a better time to travel. They are holding us to a rebooking date of December 31,2020. We paid over $4,000 and would love to keep our current reservation but that is just not possible. I booked a trip several months ago for a new resort to be open in March of 2020. I paid for everything and a week ago my husband looked on the website of the resort only to find out they were indicating they would not be opening until June 2020- planet Hollywood Cancun. Cheap Caribbean (CC) did not contact us at all. My husband ended up calling them to clarify and they claimed they do not have any info from the resort indicating this. A few days later we received an email from CC reporting the resort will not open until June 4th. They offered another resort which we did not like the pics or the reviews. If we choose this resort we get a free trip to planet Hollywood hotel only.We just requested a refund they report they would need to charge us 200.00 pp for (800.00) flight cancel fees and another 200.00 fee for CC cancellation fees. This is utterly ridiculous and the representative Jeff T. K had the audacity to say well it’s not our fault the resort will not be open. I am not satisfied with CC at this point. I had to settle for something as opposed to losing all our monies. I have booked several trips through them but I will not patronize this business any longer. Unfortunately I have a credit through them of 175.00 but I don’t want to book anything else through them so I have lost in many ways.
My husband and I booked a trip to Costa Rica for dates of travel (October 3 - October 10, 2019). It is known that Costa Rica has Zika virus and there are still travel advisories listed on the CDC website about traveling there. We found out we were pregnant on September 28th and cancelled our trip on October 2nd due to physician advice not to travel. I received misleading information from their customer service department that this cancellation, a) would be covered under the trip protection I purchased and b) would be able to file the claim with the provider at ANYTIME with no expiration. BOTH of these pieces of information were later determined to be FALSE. I proceeded to file the claim as I was able to get/receive my Physician's documentation, etc and my trip claim was denied through their provider.

they're a disaster! I booked a trip to Aruba for August 2019. I paid for insurance just in case anything would happen. My Partner was terminated a month before I was supposed to go on vacation, so I had to cancel because there was noone to fill my slot at my place of work. They told me that I had to go through tripmate to get a refund. I sent in all documents required so that I can get a refund and I was DENIED. Why I cancelled was not a good enough reason to get a refund. I was then told to contact cheapcaribbean again, I had to send them tripmate decision. I did so months ago. its now the end of February and they told me that I will be getting a credit voucher in 24/48hrs. My sister is getting married in Mexico so I asked can I use my voucher because I been booked with a travel agent before I received an Email and I was told that I couldnt use the voucher because I didnt book with them. this place sucks and I'm going to continue to fight until I get something. that's 545.00 gone. this is bt and it's a scam
I would like to advise all the travelers "not to deal with cheap Caribbean"
Under recent Coronavirus problem, I'm skeptical to travel outside US. I have to cancel my booking to Dominic Republic all inclusive resort in April. I understand the penalty of $50 per person to booking company of CheapCaribbean and $200 per person for bulk air ticket. They deduct $500 from my full payment which I did not argue with them. However they has to hostage my rest of money as future credit to Dec this year. Their answer is "we are the non-refundable company" as usual I read it in website today. I will loss all my money if this Virus dose not clear by December. This is robbery company. How can they practice like that in USA? This company should be disqualified. With their attitude as a South America company, looks to me they can just rob from US citizen. They don't have to care about what other do or regular practice ethics.
We should not let them existed. Thief company!!
Why are you the only "non-refundable company"? Easy money to rob legally?
I booked our vacation with CheapCaribbean online, and used the multiple card option. Once I submitted the info for the reservation, the site gave an error message and said to call. The funds were deducted from each of the 3 cards used immediately, but when I called Cheap Caribbean, they stated that they had no record of the booking being processed. After several calls with CheapCaribbean the next day, it was discovered that there was an issue on their end, but I was reassured by Casey that the trip was booked and that they located the funds. Because of the error, I was asked for the credit card numbers in order to manually add to the reservation, and I was reassured that the cards would not be charged again nor did I provide any authorization to charge the cards again knowing that the initial payment had already posted to our accounts. Well, this was a false promise, because 2 days later, all 3 cards were charged again. Imagine paying for a vacation twice! I called CheapCarribbean and asked for a supervisor and was told they were in a meeting. I left my number to be called back and no one ever called. I called in again and spoke with a supervisor (Jamie, I believe) who had no empathy for what happened, and grudgingly offered an apology after I continuously explained how much of an inconvenience this was. The supervisor guaranteed that the duplicate charge would be refunded, or not clear my account. Days later, I noticed the second unauthorized charge cleared my account, so I called CheapCaribbean back to request a refund for the duplicate payment, and all of the sudden the same supervisor said that he has no record of the initial charge, and I would have to dispute the initial charge with my bank. Because CheapCaribbean noted they had no record of the initial charge, and I never authorized the second charge, I requested a refund of everything paid to them. I was told that I could only receive a credit to use at a later date for a fraudulent charge that I never authorized. As of now, I still have not received any money back from the unauthorized duplicate charge or the initial charge that they now state they have no record of. I have disputed both charges with my bank. On yesterday, Cheap Caribbean called asking me to give them additional payment information if I want to secure my reservation, since I have opened the dispute- essentially asking me for 3 payments for ONE vacation. I re-explained that they currently have two payments from me that they are refusing to refund, and the robotic customer service representative continuously asked me for additional payment information. Obviously, they have been trained to not admit fault on the calls, as I know there are notes in my reservation that support everything that has happened. I ended the call due to getting nowhere with them. Please stay away from this dishonest company who steals from their clients.

chargeback is dropped. If dropped chargeback is not received, the reservation
risks being cancelled. The duplicate payments for *** in the amount of $392.86

dropped the 1 chargeback so we may note the reservation and confirm all with

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I have not received notification from my bank that the claim is settled and funds have been returned for the duplicate charges. Because my bank has not confirmed this claim is settled, I will not drop the dispute because I don’t have confidence that I will receive my money back from this company. Cheap Caribbean should go through the proper channels and settle this dispute with the bank ASAP, as my attempt to resolve this with them was unsuccessful.

Per booking remarks the client contacted us on 2/20 we advised the reservation was active and refunds have been completed . She said they still have not received the funds, advised to contact her bank and contact us after Monday if still not received.
As of today, 2/21/20 the client again contacted us to authorize any changes or cancellations made to the account.
We are waiting on the other 2 card holders to agree to the authorization before any further action or changes can be made to this reservation.
Do not book with cheapcaribbean! They are a sham and shady! They tried to double charge me and when I called them to decline the pending charge they said that it was declined but they voided it.... um if it was declined it shouldn’t need to be voided and my bank would have a record of money going to be refunded back... when I said ok if that is the case then just send me confirmation of the void and we are good they said they wouldn’t/can’t... I said I needed to understand why they couldn’t send me confirmation of a transaction they did when it involved $3,000 of my money they were not suppose to charge... response was I can’t... I also got I couldn’t speak with anyone else that there was only one person in the office even though I was on hold when they spoke with support
I purchased a trip through CheapCarib over the phone to the Dominican Republic. The salesman suggested I purchase the Travel Insurance which he said would protect us if we had to cancel or delay our trip due to illness, etc. He said it was important to have and convinced me to purchase it.
My boyfriend got sick with his diabetes and his feet got extremely swollen. It was dangerous to fly so we went to ticket counter at LAX Airport and the airlines agreed he shouldn't fly and postponed our flight to the next day without charging us a change fee for the tickets. We called the hotel and asked if they could extend out stay by one day since we would be missing the first night we had already paid for at $417.90 per night. The hotel said to call CheapCarib since that's how we booked, so I did that immediately to let them know. They told me to talk to their representative in the hotel when we got there, and they should be able to help me, but they would not give us a refund for the night we paid for and missed, nor grant us an additional day to make up for the one we missed.
When I returned back to the US I again called CheapCarib and they said I had to fill out forms and send to the Insurance Company. There was no way to talk to a live person at the Insurance Company; if you called the number for the Insurance Company it was only a recording telling you where to fax the forms. I filled out the forms and faxed them along with a doctor's note and received a confirmation that the fax went through, but heard nothing back from the company. I faxed them a second time with another confirmation, and heard nothing.
CheapCarib was acting as their agent and sold me the insurance. The charge on my credit card was from CheapCarib, but they will do nothing to back up what they sold me. This is a definite bait and switch, where they get the customer to buy a "Protection Plan" and then don't honor it. They ignore you and do not accommodate you when something happens. They did not fulfill their end of the contract which was to reimburse us for our missed night at the hotel. We are actually also entitled to meals and a hotel the night we had to stay in LA.
CheapCarib is running a scam by selling clients Traveler's Insurance that they refuse to honor. This is a criminal act and they are making thousands of dollars by selling a product they do not honor. Most people would just give up because it takes too much time and effort to try to recover your money. CheapCarib must be STOPPED from their dishonest and corrupt sales tactics.

Good afternoon,
CheapCaribbean.com reached out to
the resort on your behalf asking for a shift of dates. The resort stated they
held the room for you for next day arrival, but they will not shift your dates
and still have you checking out on August 19, and they are charging for the
full stay.
Thank you Reservations

Once again, we reiterate our sincere apologizes for any
inconveniences they may have encountered. Our aim is always to provide the best
service and we hope that they will give us another opportunity to prove this.
All services are rendered in full.
Terms and Conditions attached.
The seats "assigned at the airport" are center or last row seats. Cheesy! When we insisted on a better seat, we had to pay the airline for an upgrade.
A senior citizen was placed on the second floor with no elevator. Not right!
Don't fall for "when you get to the hotel ask for an upgrade"....BS
The "beach view" was several buildings back...not right. It was a good block away.
I will never use this company. For the money we paid it was not worth it.
Life Threatening expreience
We book a all inclusive vacation to Freeport Bamahas.
Couple of days before departure Hurricane Dorian was announced.
We called multiple times to make sure the trip was still planned due to the hurricane coming thru Freeport.
We have been told that no flights were cancelled and that the trip was still maintained.
Same day of the trip we called again and they still confirmed the trip.
Following Cheap Caribbean's advice we took our flight.
We got in Freeport at 10pm, took a cab to the hotel. When we got there we found the hotel close and the security told us that the hotel was evacuated earlier in the morning.
We didn't want to spend the night out in the dark so we tried 5 hotels (all full) before finding one.
The next morning we got to Freeport airport and got booked (after 5 hours waiting in the airport and been asked to pay for the return) on a return flight to the US.
At this point Cheap Caribbean is only refunding us for the hotel (we didn't get to enjoy) and a 1 way taxi. They refuse to refund the flight they made us take.
Cheap Caribbean has asked us to board a flight knowing their partnered hotel was closed and has engaged us into a life threatening situation.
Our claim for the refund has now been ongoing for a month : No answers to email, brief calls with phone operator, no manager on the line.
Im sending out this very important case as well as to the hotel and in the works out a lawsuit with cheapcaribbean and Riu Cancun where me and my girlfriend got kicked out of and put in jail in the same night where we didnt do anything that was wrong on 8-9-19 we checked into the Riu Cancun hours later after leaving the pool area there was a small accident heading back to our room were at no point did a hotel Manager was called to solve the problem which lead to police rushing us to our room to get all of our things were items was left behind and hotel not giving us a reason or refining our money back for the nights we paid for to having us kicked out of the hotel were we got arrested and put in jail we were physically and mentailly abused police took all of our hard working cash from our bags and went through all of our bags we had to get bailed out. Major justice will and need to be served as well this will be a big matter that will be put out there Will and NEEDS TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED to victims like myself and my girlfriend.
