I bought my first home three years ago, and I had a pretty limited credit history, so I was having a few issues with other lenders. However, a friend referred me to Steve *** at Midwest Equity Mortgage, and Steve was able to get me into my home with very favorable terms while also proving excellent customer service that made the process go super smooth. Given improvements in my equity and credit history, I recently decided to refinance, so I reached back out to Steve and everything went just as well as I'd expected. So if you are looking for a lender, I'd highly recommend Steve ***; he will not disappoint!
Thank you much for your feedback. We appreciate hearing about your experience and will share your comments with Steve and leadership. Regards, Midwest Equity Mortgage LLC.
I recently did a cash-out refi of my home with Midwest Equity. *** NMLS#*** was the one who handled the mortgage. *** purposely misled me how the funds were to be dispersed on the cash I was taking out of my home. I have emails and text messages to prove how he mislead me. I then engaged his supervisor ***. *** seemed to be helpful at first and offered to redo the mortgage in house at no cost to me. After some back and forth emailing *** stopped responding. He has made no attempt to make good on his promise to redo the mortgage with my wife on the loan. using her income as well as mine versus using just my income. Originally *** said there was no need to use her income and I would be able to deposit the checks from my refinance into my account. This was not the case. The checks came and I was unable to deposit them. I have emails and text messages with *** stating that they could reissue the refinance checks and *** stating that I would be able to deposit the checks into my account and use the funds at my discretion. None of this was true. I made decisions based on information that they gave me and this information was wrong, *** did this because he felt that if he told me the truth that I would not go through with the loan and hew would not get his commission, and he was right.
Managing Director, would appreciate discussing this situation with the customer. This is not expected of our process. We apologize for the experience. *** can be reached at 619-***-*** or by email to ***@MidwestEquity.com at the customer's convenience.

Steve *** at Midwest Equity Mortgage helped my wife and I buy our first home. We were pre-approved for a mortgage from Midwest Equity Mortgage and another institution; however, we decided to go with Midwest Equity and Steve for the actual loan because of the amazing customer service we received. They were also able to either match or do better than the other institution on the terms of the loan.
Thank you! It was a pleasure working with you. Please let us know if you have any questions moving forward!
I am a first time home buyer and honestly wasn't looking to buy a home due to the daunting task of getting approved for a loan and closing on a house. Steve was recommended by a close friend and from the moment I spoke to him I felt at ease with the process. Steve was patient, thorough, and well versed in everything you need to know when buying a home. He made sure that I received every and all credits possible to assist with my closing. I never thought that buying a home would even be possible. Now closing on the home that I have only dreamt about, I can only thank Steve for all of his help and hard work!
Amanda,
Thank you very much for your comments. We greatly value your business and appreciate you choosing Steve to work with.

Exceptionally incompetent and unresponsive. My spouse and I were refinancing a mortgage through them and were given a quote of 3.75 and a guarantee of closing in 30 days, with closing costs of $1600. All documents including the appraisal was received by them 13 days after the contract was signed. We have no debt other than the mortgage, we're refinancing only 40% of the appraised value of the home with a credit score of 805....should have been the easiest loan in history to close. Then were hear nothing for days but get an email that states that they cannot guarantee the 3.75% as the loan officer gave us the wrong loan and now it will be 4.00% loan and a refund for the esitmate. We told them that was unacceptable, not our fault and we had sign contract otherwise...their response was to completely ignore us for the next 10 days...by this time the guaranteed 30 day closing has passed, and interest rates were on the rise. This mistake or increase in the loan about of .25% over the life of the loan on a 30 mortgage with the increase in monthly payment and accrued interest is an $18,000 mistake.
The loan officer continued to ignore me I had to contact his supervisor, which took over a week and were finally agreed on a rate of 3.875%, because by this time my options of financing elsewhere had expired and loan rates increased. We have now spent the last three weeks getting "additional" paperwork to underwriting. After weeks of this, around 30 emails, hours of missed work attempting to get all required documentation, we still have not closed. We spoke with another finance companies underwriting division and they told us that they were literally making us jump through hoops, and these request were not merited or necessary to close the loan.
Nearly two months after signing the initial contact, we finally got the final disclosure and are ready to close, and low and behold they have incorrect legal names and wrong payoff amounts on the final disclosure. Shock of all shockers, we were not refunded the appraisal fee and closing cost are $300 more than quoted. . We now has a closing date set, tentatively, incorrect final disclosure, no information on corrections needed and on and on.
I completed a refinance in 2012, for the same property....it took three weeks, 2 phone calls on a couple of emails...we are now two months into this out $1900 in closing cost, plus we now have had to make yet another months payment with absolutely no resolution in sight. We have had to take for days off work, make to additional house payments, are losing $900 in accrued interests, over the loan, not to mention having to pay for the appraisal, and so on. I work in the services industry as a federal contractor and if I had treated customers this way, I would be terminated!!
The same review came up on *** and we contacted the customer. Our customer told us it wasn't them that made the complaint. *** is reviewing it currently.
