Fraudulent type practice at Home Depot. I am an older person. I purchased a front door, side lights (both sides) and a good quality storm door. That was in October of 2016. My total cost I paid (up front-mandatory) over $3,200.00 with installation. It took the manufacturer like 8 weeks, then the one (yes one) installer took a couple of weeks off but could finally fit me in on January 13th. Today. Great. Finally. He even called and said he'd be here by 1:00. I took the day off work (2 jobs). The local(Birmingham, mi) store just called me. There is a defect in the door that was sent. Are you kidding me? Why wasn't this checked right away? It's not something they do. Now, I have to wait another 2-3 months, or more for the replacement door. Home Depot has had all that money all this time. That is a fraudulent practice, horrible customer service, and I won't stop here. I plan to warn as many people as possible not to shop here for any products that need to be ordered or installed by their contractors.

I would not recommend this company. I purchased a door on 10/5/16, kept in contact through the building process, as I need delivery by 11/4/16. On 10/28/16 I was told the door would be delivered to the delivery company on 11/1/16 and they would contact me for delivery. I was contacted later that same day by the delivery company and told my door would be delivered 11/4/16 and I would need to be there to sign. Today is 11/4/16 and at 1:30 I still had not heard from the delivery company. I called [redacted] and was told they had me scheduled for delivery and gave me a phone number to call. They said nobody had answered when they tried but to give it an hour and keep trying them, to get a delivery time. I said that was unacceptable and told them to look into my delivery, get the requested information and call me back. I received a phone call 1.5 hours later from a manager telling me my door would not be delivered, as it was damaged in transit to the delivery company days ago. Excuse me, your rep just told me it was out for delivery. The [redacted] rep then went on to blame everything on the third party delivery company which I could not believe. [redacted] damaged the door in transit and [redacted] neglected to inform their customer, not the delivery company. I am now informed the replacement parts will hopefully arrive in two weeks, the door will then be repaired and then delivered. Because [redacted] neglected to call me and explain the issue, I will now have to take a different day off work to accept delivery and am out $322. My $557 door has now cost me $879. I posted to the Home Depot facebook page and was asked to send them all of my information, so they could look into the matter. I posted to the [redacted] facebook page and was told they would review the recorded phone calls. I replied back, saying that'd be great and to make sure the reviewed the calls from October 28 as well. Neither company has since responded back.

I have no idea if the Corporate Office has any idea what is happening in Missoula MT, at their store..BUT ITS TIME THEY DID , if they don't, they will now. We here south of Missoula are experiencing several wild fires, in which people are displaced, some have lost everything. YOUR Missoula Store hired men , who are volunteer fire fighters and when they are called they go...WELL, How proud are you of the fact that 2 men in this state have been fired, BECAUSE THEY HEARD the call of the wildfires 55 miles south and came to do the RIGHT THING...YET they lose their jobs...Their security....but they sacrifice it all to save people they have never met before...because they care...APPARENTLY HOME DEPOT DOESN"T CARE ANY MORE ABOUT PEOPLE>>>JUST THE BOTTOM LINE AND HOW MUCH $$$$$$ you can generate...JUST AN FYI HOME DEPOT.....your business practices are not in line with humanity!!! I for 1 along with at least 200 other people, will NO LONGER be giving you our attention...there are plenty of other places to shop and get what we need....So I wonder now, how will you respond to those who need supplies to rebuild their homes....I CAN ASSURE YOU , they will NOT be shopping with your MISSOULA store! SHAME ON YOU!!!!

We ordered a stove in mount pleasant NY store. Before we ordered or accepted the delivery, no one told us unlike other products in home depot, major appliance cannot be returned! We waited for our contractor to install the stove for one week then decided to change it to a bigger one, no way! they wouldn't accept the return because , according to them, even the appliance is damaged, you only have 2 days to return it!!! They should have let us know before the order, not after! If I knew it, I wouldn't even place any orders with them! This is not the first time we had problems with home depot. One month ago, we placed another order and they gave us the delivery time. I took one day off from work and waited for the delivery for a whole day! No one showed up, no one called me. I called the online store, they said they were not able to located the products !I asked how long should I wait, the lady simply said 'I don't know' then did not want to talk any more. I called them again to cancel the order and they told me I have to go to the store to get my refund for online orders. I wonder how such a big company has such lousy selling system and can still keep their business running for such a long time! I will never go to home depot in all my life. Lowe's has much better customer service and return policies.

Purchased [redacted] replacement windows with installation. I obtained several estimates before deciding on home depot. Home Depot was the highest priced but I went with them because I believed that the windows would be high quality and energy efficient. I am very disappointed. With the cold temps we have had recently I can feel a considerable amount of cold coming from the windows. I have ugly thermal curtains up which I was hoping I would be able to remove after installing energy efficient windows, this will never happen because these windows do not keep the cold out. After I complained about the cold coming off the windows I was told that the reason I have cold coming from the windows is because I have a slab foundation. Also disappointed with the trim around the outside of the windows. Pieces are overlapping, does not look professional. I Paid 6500.00 for these windows, way too much money to be having these types of quality issues. Home Depot will never replace any of my windows again. I also attempted to put up a public review on the Home Depot web site, with photos, but a link is required to do so. after complaining that I was unable to access the public review site I still do not have a link. Beware, Don't buy [redacted] Replacement windows from Home Depot.

Went into the Dunwoody Home Depot to make a major appliance purchase. The purchase included a range, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave. I spent the next 2 plus hours being "educated" by the staff as to how their appliance and delivery process worked. This is probably one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I needed in stock appliances delivered to me on a date that they said was possible but due to the third party they contract measures to they could not complete my request. The third party company could not provide a time frame or schedule and they don't install on weekends. I became so overwhelmed with their process and their very rude staff that I left the store without making the purchase. I went to a competitor, made the purchase and scheduled the delivery date I needed. Amazing that Home Depot has no concept of customer service. I would not recommend them to anyone making a major purchase. They have lost their way!!

This is a letter I sent the CEO of Home Depot. PROCEED WITH CAUTION WITH THEIR PROTECTION PLANS:

Mr. [redacted]
I felt it necessary to take this opportunity to write to you about a serious issue with the Home Depot and the protection plan department. I recently scheduled service for my [redacted] dryer for Saturday, November 26th. After rearranging my work schedule, I sat at home, waited and no one showed. Upon calling the Home Depot Protection Plan department, I was told that they would reschedule the appointment for Tuesday, November 29th between 4 and 6 pm. The Home Depot customer service representative put me on hold and told me she got a hold of the service contract company and assured me that they would definitely be at my home on Tuesday,November 29th.

Once again, I rearranged my work schedule and sat at home for no one to show. I decided to go online to review the company, ** Appliances and Repair out of Woodbridge, VA. To no surprise, the reviews listed for this company on several web sites are less than favorable to say the least. Had this been my first go around with this company, I wouldn't be writing you but considering this happened last year around this time with my previous dryer, I felt it necessary to contact you. Exact same circumstances except the company didn't show for 3 scheduled appointments.

I contacted the Protection Plan department last night to request a different company to service my dryer. I was told that in order to have my dryer serviced by a different company I have to wait two business days from someone from Home Depot to call me. I'm confused...did I not pay for the warranty? In the Washington DC area, this is the ONLY company you contract to service appliances?

I think it would be wise for Home Depot to reconsider contracting ** Appliances and Service. I will think long and hard before buying another appliance from Home Depot.

I visited the home depot store Saturday a week ago today and purchased a door that was left by a customer that changed their mind on the product. I asked the salesman to provide me with a Florida product approval number in order to pull my permit (keep in mind I am a permit tech for the county in other words it's what I do for a living I give out permits) and was assured that the number were on the door. I took his word for this is what he does for a living "salesman doors/Windows dept". When I get home after unloading the the door I look for all my tags and no Florida product approval number. So I said okay this can't happen to me I tell my customers everyday call home depot and ask for the number easy as that right? Wrong? After that it was a hell of experience in obtain the number starting with the call to the front desk to the door department to the sales people and last but not least to the so called rude manager who try to intimidate me with his answers because I purchased a door that was returned. Bottom line the manager put me on hold for 20 min after all that n never came back. What did I do I hung up the phobe and had to find my own information the information no one could find in the store. I want corporate to explain to me how and way thus happened to me a home owner not to mention to all the homeowners I deal with day in and day out that tell me they experience the same run around. I had to experience it my self to understand the frustration caused by incompetent lazy un trained workers. I have every name of the people I had to talk to at the store to try and get a number mandated by the state of Florida to provide at the building department in order to obtain a permit.

Jeff was very polite and considerate. He explained everything I needed to know about my furnace. I received excellent service.
