Very professional crew led by Rich. We are currently waiting for concrete to dry, but we were pleased thru the install. Looking forward to seeing the performance of the system.

Excellent service! Incredibly professional. Job was finished a timely manner. Though a little pricey the work was top notch. Thank you BDry

Customer Care

I was only expecting to have Phase 1 of 3 completed in 2 days. Nevertheless, Richard and Isaiah, plus Taylor on the 4th day, were able to complete 2 phases in four days. Richard walked me through every step of progress, answering every question along the way. That was appreciated, as is Phil, the salesman I can still contact whenever I like. Phase 3 will be done outside, so it's scheduled tentatively, due to the weather.

BDry Waterproofing & Foundation Repair Response • May 05, 2020

Dear Revdex.com,

Thank you for giving BDry the opportunity to respond to this complaint. I feel badly for the problem that the ***'s have experienced.

However, after coming to understand the complaint and speaking with Mr., this is not a problem with the work BDry did nor with the warranty of our services. The complaint pertains to a shower leak and subsequent water and mold damage.

We completed the crawlspace work we were contracted to do and stopped the ground water leak that Mr. has acknowledged he had in addition to the newer shower leak.

The complaint states that a BDry representative should have noticed the shower leak and informed the ***'s about it. We did not notice it. As the leak was not discovered until 11 months after BDry performed our work, and it is not known when this water leak began, it may very well be that the leak didn't start until some time after we completed our work.

I wish we could have helped, but there was no indication of the shower leak at the time we were on the premises.

Sincerely,
***

Customer Response • May 09, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The complaint plainly states that the damage was caused by "active water infiltration into the structure, both from the shower enclosure and from about forty feet of the foundation wall." I also spoke explicitly about the water intrusion through the foundation wall during our call. Mr. statements that this problem relates only to the leak from the shower, and that BDry's work stopped the water infiltration are misrepresentations of both the complaint and our communications, and are not true.
When we discovered and informed BDry of the problem, BDry promised twice to come and see the problem but never came. By the time BDry responded to the Revdex.com Complaint, months had passed since they were informed of the problem.
BDry did not stop the groundwater leaks which continued and caused extensive damage, and is not standing behind its work or honoring its warranty.
We request arbitration of this dispute under Revdex.com Rules, as provided in the contract.

I could not be more happy with the way BDry has handled my basement issues. Approximately a year ago, my family and I bought a home that had a couple of basement issues. High radon levels were the first problem, followed by a basement flooding issue. Gerad with BDry was always quick to respond and send his foreman Cam or even come himself to address any and all issues that we had. Our Radon issue became quite a puzzling situation, as it took a few attempts by BDry to alleviate the issue, all while sticking to their word and original budget. In today's home improvement world, it is difficult to find companies that do this, and I am proud to say that BDry is one of the good ones! Every person that set foot in my house to work was professional, courteous, and respected their work and my home/property. I would not recommend anyone else.

David is very knowledgeable and responsive. Came back to check the work that was done

BDry "repaired" my foundation, only to now explain that I have "weeks, not months" until the home collapses - no effort has been made to remedy this.
I contacted BDry in early *** due to suspected foundation issues. On ***, I met with Project Manager ***, who performed an inspection of the house; upon completion, he provided me with a written solution design and cost estimate. However, I was incorrectly quoted on the monthly payments, making them well over what was affordable. The company offered to take $*** off of the $*** being charged (mind you, still not bringing it down to the monthly payments I was quoted when signing for the loan). We moved forward and their team installed 4x6 wooden beams (10 stabilizers) to stabilize the home a couple weeks later. Since being told that this should help level the home and close some of the cracks, I contacted them again shortly after installation after noticing that things were only getting worse. After claiming they would have someone investigate, I then waited another few weeks and contacted them again when no one showed. They apologized and said that the Operations Manager, ***, would contact me shortly. He set up an appointment to view the property. On the day we were to meet, I was contacted by another individual claiming that *** was unable to make it, so he would be inspecting instead. This individual noted that there was no footer for the home and said he would have to contact the "higher ups" to move forward. I waited another few weeks and received no contact from BDry. I called again to check on the status and received apologies and was told that someone would get back to me in a couple days. A week later, I called the company again and was told to call them back if I had not heard from them by lunchtime on ***. I called them that evening and received a planned date for *** to inspect the property. I met with ***, who stated that the house most likely had merely weeks before collapse; it was recommended to repair the inner concrete wall and install helical piers along the side of the home that the initial wooden support beams were placed along the interior of the crawl space. All-in-all, I was quoted somewhere around $*** worth of work. I was told that I would be emailed the very next day with an outline of what needed to be repaired along with cost estimates. After a few days, I emailed *** to inquire on status. After receiving no response, I spoke the company about a week later.
At this point, I was told by *** that I would be required to hire a structural engineer, on my own dime, before work could be performed. Since the two previous employees stated that engineers were employed by the company, I'm unsure as to why it is now my responsibility, after I have paid them to do the wrong job, to further my own debt by hiring another individual to check their work. All lack of customer service and follow-up aside, as a supposed foundation company, I'm at a loss as to how such a business could operate without trained professionals. I have paid them to not fix a problem, waste my time, and now say that my house will soon collapse, but they want me to pay for a structural engineer before performing the work that should have been done in the first place. Warranties mean nothing if the work performed was incorrect. I have experienced no "peace of mind", "expertise", "thorough communication", "respect for my time", "accountability", or "lasting, worry-free confidence" from BDry. I am simply greater in debt and soon to be homeless.

Documentation can be provided.

Desired Outcome

I simply want the foundation to be repaired correctly and have no further worries regarding the home's stability. I want them to hold themselves accountable to the fact that they incorrectly diagnosed, charged for, and then did not fix my foundation issues. I would like them to consult a structural engineer so they may correctly perform the necessary repairs. I only want what I originally hired -and thought I was paying for- them to do: fix the foundaiton/structural issues. I do believe that BDry should perform the repairs at the cost of the company, considering I hired them to repair my foundation. My foundation has not been repaired, regardless of whether it was due to lack of knowledge or what have you. I have lost valuable time (as well as time off work) trying to get in contact with them, during which I could have been searching for solutions- either with them or another company.

Response to Revdex.com Complaint Activity Report Case # ***

As stated in her complaint to the Revdex.com, *** of BDry did meet with Ms. on ***. She presented *** with an engineer's "Structural Report" from ***, LLC in *** who was hired by the previous homeowner, prior to Ms. contacting BDry.

Based on ***'s report, the BDry salesperson, ***, proposed a solution to reinforce the flooring system in Ms. house by adding two support beams and 10 stabilizer jacks to strengthen and secure her flooring system. Ms. accepted the proposed solution and BDry installed the work according to Ms. engineer's specifications.

Also as stated in the Revdex.com complaint, Ms. did contact BDry after the initial floor stabilization project with concerns that she was experiencing foundation issues. BDry sent out a service technician to her home to do an inspection for the foundation issues.

At this time, a price quote should have been created but, as Ms. pointed out in the complaint, but the BDry representative did neglect to draft this proposal.

On Wednesday, ***, two representatives visited Ms. house to discuss how BDry can solve the concerns she has with her home. BDry also hired a third-party engineer, ***, of ***, who was also present on this date to inspect the floor stabilization work performed by BDry and assess the foundation issues. The engineer stated to Ms. and her boyfriend who was also present that the floor stabilization work was done properly by BDry. And that the home does require foundation repair work to remedy its settling issues.

As of the writing of this response, we do not have the written engineer's assessment, and were on a Revdex.com deadline to present this response. The report will be forwarded along to the Revdex.com as soon as it's available.

These two issues are separate issues and require different solutions to address each one. Ms. original engineer diagnosed the failing floor support system and BDry fixed this. A second issue with the home is the failing foundation. To this, BDry has not presented a solution to Ms..

Ms. continues to want this additional foundation repair work done at no charge from BDry. Ms. argument is that she believes BDry misdiagnosed her home's problem, and thus BDry should be held accountable to this error.

This is not a reasonable resolution for Ms. to pursue. When a homeowner requests for BDry to come out to their home and presents a written report from a structural engineer, the next step in the process is for the salesperson to offer a solution that meets the engineer's diagnosis. BDry followed Ms. own engineer's report and solved the problem as specified and a second engineer inspected and at least on the scene, said that the work was done properly to solve the floor stabilization issue.

Also noted by Ms. in the complaint are a concern about monthly payments. BDry only offers monthly payment options through a third-party financing company. Our salesperson did connect Ms. with this financing company, but it was a decision between her and the financing company of whether to move forward with financing or not.

Thanks for allowing us to work with the Revdex.com to attempt to solve Ms. concerns.

Sincerely,
***

Customer Response • Feb 11, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I truly hope that this response was simply an error in communication between BDry's team, as it is filled mostly with half-truths and outright false statements.

Mr. was partially correct in his initial statement that a structural report was produced by ***, LLC.
Mr. -the engineer- was hired by *** on behalf of their client (the seller) in order to verify the structural integrity of the home's support systems as a contingency of the sale.

Provided this report, which included a short list of recommendations, the seller agreed to install the additional support beams suggested to further extend the life of the home. With this, I moved forward with the purchase.

Shortly after, the structure began to quickly degrade. As a first time home buyer with little to no knowledge of such areas, I was still clearly able to see the movement of the floors and fireplace, the defined cracks forming in the walls, and the water stains forming and spreading as everything began to separate.
After some research and still not truly knowing the root cause of issue (although suspecting a faulty foundation/structural integrity at this point), I contacted BDry.

It was at this point that Mr. came to inspect the home and suggest needed repairs.

I, at no point, presented Mr. with "my engineer's" structural report as a proposed solution to the issues I had witnessed occurring.

Not only was this not an engineer requisitioned by me - as Mr. stated at the beginning of his response - but at this point, it had been confirmed by BDry that the structure's support systems/foundation were indeed failing.

Why, then, would I contact a foundation company to diagnose and repair suspected foundation issues only to present them a report issued two months prior that seemingly stated there were no serious, immediate foundational problems?
Furthermore, the areas of concern that Mr. highlighted in his report were - to my knowledge at the time - reinforced/corrected before I agreed to move forward with the purchase of the house; no point was made by *** about installing support beams in the areas that BDry suggested and installed.

The idea that I would suggest using an obviously incorrect report to further design plans to prevent my home from collapsing is not only ludacris, but outright insulting.

BDry only began asking for ***, LLC's report after the complaint was filed with the Revdex.com. In addition, BDry only had knowledge of this report because, during my last conversation with their representative before filing the complaint, it was stated that I would need to employ a structural engineer before they would perform any further work.
My response was, in addition to what has already been stated, that an engineer did look at the structure before I purchased (the entire reason for this being so I did not invest in something that would end up detrimental to me and so I would not have to invest more money into this before even purchasing the home), but it obviously meant nothing since the home is now collapsing - this was the entire reason that I had not mentioned the report to begin with.

The day following my complaint filed with Revdex.com, a representative of theirs contacted me and requested a copy of the engineer's report; at this point, I was exasperated with the report being continuously mentioned and assumed that being able to read it for themselves would drop the entire point, so I obliged. This was the first record I have of showing BDry the engineer's report - and, again, not to use it as a suggestion for further work.

I did meet with representatives from BDry, as well as a third party engineer, to inspect the state of my home - I am truly grateful to BDry for assuming responsibility in this matter and implementing qualified professionals to assure my home's future stability. I sincerely thank you for this.

However, I do want to clarify that neither my fiance - nor myself - recall any such statements regarding the work performed by BDry. To our recollection, everyone present was simply inspecting and asking questions, not providing statements on BDry's installments.
Perhaps we simply do not remember such a statement being made - nonetheless, my question would never be whether or not the beams installed by BDry were done properly, but whether or not they were actually necessary in the first place.
If everything that has most recently been told to me had been correctly diagnosed and repaired from the get-go, would the structure still yet have needed the over $*** beams that were installed?

In regards to Mr. response - deemed "not a reasonable resolution..to pursue" - I would have to wholeheartedly disagree.

I trusted BDry and chose to give their company my business. I hired them to repair/reinforce my home's structure.

This has not been done.

Not only is my home still not stable, not only am I incurring more and more expenses from secondary damage with each day that passes, but I have lost valuable time in which BDry neglected to respond to my attempts at any kind of follow-up or reminders of my waiting.

I now have no more time. I have no time to pursue cheaper alternatives or research other companies. Now that time is of the essence, I'm simply asking that BDry do what I thought I was hiring them to do - stabilize my home.

BDry Waterproofing & Foundation Repair Response • Feb 20, 2020

To clear up a point Ms. made in her reply, in the previous response there was incorrect information on who BDry received ***'s report from. Mr. was contacted through a ***' real estate agent to look at Ms. home. Mr. was shown (but not given) a copy of ***'s report on the home by the agent, not Ms..

At the time of BDry's inspection, a solution and quote was presented to Ms. for a floor stabilization issue. This is the same issue that ***'s report stated that the house needed. Ms. purchased BDry's floor stabilization solution and BDry completed the installation.

A third-party engineer report from *** that BDry paid to have completed following the complaint from Ms. states that the floor stabilization work that BDry performed did in fact stabilize the house's flooring issues. There were some minor adjustments that ***'s pointed out that BDry is happy to perform for Ms..

The report also states that the work performed by BDry did not cause damage to the structure of the home. The foundation issues that Ms. is asking BDry to repair are non-related foundation issues to the floor stabilization issues that BDry corrected.

The complaint that has been submitted to the Revdex.com is for an additional foundation issue that Ms. home is having, not for the floor stabilization that BDry was contracted to do.

BDry solved the problem we were contracted for. We will stand by our work and our warranty and make the adjustments to the stabilizers we put in place as recommended by *** if Ms. would like.

To seek the desired resolution of having BDry perform work for a different issue Ms. home is experiencing at cost to BDry, is not a fair request.

Again, we appreciate the mediation by the Revdex.com in this matter.

I love this company. They are professional and great to work with!

This company over torqued our helical piers on job two and left us with internal and external severe damage. We were left with paper tape damage!
After installation our right screen and regular door would not close and one rep brought us painters tape and said good night.

This problem continues to grow and we got no response from *** to the structural engineers report.

I feel this company did far more harm than good and I need resolution. I'm tired of hoping it will improve.

We have documentation of paying someone to help with French drains and put our door back on. He was present for the second set of helical piers.

Desired Outcome

I feel BDry should completely repair our home.
