 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  The response is in reference to using AOL software. I am not complaining about AOL software. My complaint is with AOL assist. I was referred to AOL assist by AOL tech support whom I am paying $4.99 a month for them to help me with AOL issues like email . I did not sing an agreement with AOL assist so this waiver does not apply to me and the damage they did.  They did admit to making a mistake .  AOL tech support did offer me 4 months of free AOL tech support which clearly admits they are wanting to compensate for something,,,, but the problem is,,,,,AOL corporate based their decision on false information by stating my computer had issues (which it did not), also stating that AOL assist offered to repair my computer ( this is false because they were not able to take control anymore),  also stated they removed some viruses  ( this is not true because they were working on the wrong computer and no way possible to determine what good was done).  It only know that they ruined a good working computer and if they knew the facts maybe they would reconsider based on facts and not lies to cover the wrong they did.  Not one time did anyone mention the agreement that was presented to you when they said they will try to recover the hard drive. Not one time did a tech person tell me . there is nothing we can do because you signed an agreement.  They told me to take to a shop but refused to pay for the service.   They didnt try to help me. Left me with a need to buy a new computer.   AOL support told me to contact AOL cooperate and agreed someone should take responsibility  for what they did.  Again,  I was not using a software. I was using a repair service. I did cancel my subscription to AOL assist but this gave them a reason to say, because you canceled, our policy will not let us help you and your issue was over 6 months ago.    I paid for  service to repair.  I did not pay for a service to damage.  AOL assist allowed some incompetent techs to control my computer and all I heard was .."OOPS".    How can they expect me to me dumped on and lose all my files of my life and let them say because I signed an agreement then they are not liable.  Well if I used a software the agreement would hold. But I used a tech person who made a blunder and admitted it so therefore I do not agree with their response and they should get the facts straight.
