Review: The inn has a roach infestation. There were roaches in the bed under the cover. We went to the front desk to complain, he offered another room to us we declined and asked for a refund. He stated he could not refund our money. Naturally we couldn't stay there. I had an autistic child with me who is allergic to roaches. I have pictures of the bugs and have been refused a refund twice. Roaches are a health risk factor and can easily be transmitted into our luggage.Desired Settlement: I will take a complete refund.

Review: I stopped at this motel while traveling on business. After entering the room I found that it was terribly filthy (the tv was not functioning either). I called the front desk and they offered another room. At this point I was not willing to try another room and requested a refund a I was leaving to find another motel. The front desk informed me that she did not have authority to issue refunds. I then drove on to the next town to stay the night. The motel manager has refused to issue a refund even though I never stayed at their motel. In checking the reviews of this facility, after my experience, I found that this is a recurring issue with this particular motel.Desired Settlement: Refund of charges ($68.38).

Review: I booked a hotel room on May 14, 2014, several months in advance of my stay (August 9-15). About two weeks before my trip, the hotel emailed to inform me that my stay had been canceled. Apparently they "somehow" overbooked the hotel, or so I was told over the phone. I strongly suspect that they cancelled my reservation when they realized that they could charge more for the room due to a large conference at the nearby convention center. They offered no compensation whatsoever for their mistake, and made no attempt to rebook me at a different hotel.Desired Settlement: I feel that Americas Best Value Inn should at least pay the difference between my stay at their hotel and my stay at the hotel I was forced to book after the cancellation.

Response:
Dear [redacted] I am writing to inform you and apologize for the inconvenience that may have occurred to you, that was caused due to overbooking. It is not our business practice to cancel any reservations that were lower then the rest. It is not common for over bookings to occur, but sometimes due to computer and networking errors, things can happen of that sort. It is a frustrating matter for us at management and also it can be for the guest. I am sorry no one had offered you some compensation. Therefor I will provide a 3 night free stay here when ever you would like to use them. If there is anything that I can do to further assist please fell free to contact me anytime.

I am rejecting this response because:
Review: I attempted to stay here last weekend with my fiance. Our first room was very, very filthy. The floor looked like it had not been vacuumed in months, there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, the sink and toilet both were dirty as if they had not been cleaned in weeks, all the furniture was very dusty and the sheets and bedding looked nasty. I didn't think to look for bedbugs in this room, but I did in the second room. We asked to be moved, thinking foolishly that maybe our room was just missed somehow. The second room was just as nasty and I puled the sheets back, checking the mattress for bedbugs. Sure enough, they were there in the folds of the mattress. We went to the office to get a refund so we could drive elsewhere to stay. Initially the staff was helpful, but tried to put us in another hotel they owned in the area. It's been a week and we still have not heard about a refund. They will not return our calls or answer when we call and going to the corporate office has yielded nothing. I'm hoping someone can help us, as all we want is our money back. I did not stay there so there is no reason I should be getting the run around so much. The rooms were horrible and I'm not the only one who complained about bedbugs from the reviews I have seen, but the lady at the front desk claimed they have never had issues with bedbugs and the rooms are very clean. I have never seen a bigger case of false advertisement in my life.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the full amount I paid, &95.95, that's all. I'm tired of getting the run around from this hotel and nobody returning phone calls and refusing to take phone calls; that's ridiculous. Both rooms were disgusting and the second had bedbugs. Just from being in the room we had to wash everything we had on thoroughly to make sure we did not bring any home with us. I want a full refund for $95.95, what I paid for a room I did not stay in.

Review: The Inn at Highway One advertised rooms on their website as "newly remodeled." We also called the Inn directly and the front desk receptionist stated that all of the rooms were very nice and are as pictured on the website. We went through Hotels.com to reserve our one night stay. We arrived the afternoon of August 29th, checked in with the front desk, and proceeded to the room. We were given room #122. As we entered the room we noticed the smell of smoke in the air and the carpet was soiled and dirty. The bed did not have a blanket, only a sheet. There was not a smoke alarm present. There were however exposed wires hanging from the ceiling where I assume the smoke alarm should be. The floor of the shower was stained. We did not feel safe. We did not feel the Inn looked anything how it was advertised. We immediately realized we could not stay in a room that was unkempt, hot (due to the lack of air conditioning), and smelled like smoke. We immediately booked a nearby hotel as we waited in our car, outside of the room. We told the front desk receptionist that we had to leave and go home. We did not want to tell them that we were leaving due to how unclean their establishment was. I was very disappointed because the pictures on the website portrayed a much nicer place and the woman we spoke to said it was "really nice" and "all" rooms were new and remodeled.Desired Settlement: I feel that we should be issued a refund for the amount we spent on a room that was falsely advertised.
