Failed to contact customer to discuss their concerns, and ignoring once they have the money.
I originally spoke with the owner, *** on 13 Oct around 0900 am and was quoted for *** per hour for 4 men and 26' truck. I received the estimated quote for 4-6 hours which was *** It sounded like a great deal during that time compare to the other ones I've received that day, so I called back and got same day booking and moving. It felt really food, it was *** who I've been dealing with since booking for my move.. At first he sounded really trustworthy because of his friendly attitude and sounded knowledgeable about what he was talking about. During booking, he asked for a card to pay for the deposit, the deposit was *** which was 1 hour travel time plus 2 hours of moving. He did not provide any receipt until I called back to get a receipt because my card was already charged. It gave me a negative vibe when I didn't receive any receipts. It actually made me nervous about dealing with them, but I thought I will be able to reach the owner, *** if something wrong happens.
That afternoon, the movers arrived at the pick-up location at 445 pm and gave an estimated time of 2 hours to pack and load. We only requested for them to move large furnitures. Items to include: washer and dyer, 3 mattresses, small dining table and 6 chairs, 1 80' TV which was already packed, 1 55" TV, a tv stand, leather sectional, sofa, 3 seater couch, (2) 5 drawer stand, 1 bed frame, and temprapedic frame. That's all they moved, most of which were dropped off in the garage and some by the living room. They didn't take too long to unload.
My leather sectional has a huge scratch on one cushion and scratches all over the edges. Only 1 mattress was wrapped with plastic, the rest had dirt on them, especially it was raining. They even claimed to have a professional movers, but in my 10 years of service and all the moved I have had, this has been the worse experienced I have ever had. They claimed to make the move easier, but it has been a nightmare since I started dealing with them. Especially with *** who only say good words, but not really man of his words once he's done charging your card.
I was charged *** on packing materials. That I could have bought the shrinking film and tape myself and would only cost me less than *** I requested for an explanation in a very cordial and polite way, but was ignored.
I called Saturday morning and Sunday to receive an explanation. I looked for ***, but *** said he's on an emergency leave and that *** was the only one in the office in-charge. *** kept saying he would call back, but he only did once on Saturday. He called to let me know that he will discuss the matter later when he's in the office to talk about the figures. I even sent him an email on Saturday at 756 pm, asking for the finalized receipt, I have not received any response as of today, 18 Oct 17 at 1014 pm. I kept calling to receive an explanation, but I have not received any responses. I even called the actual All my Sons customer service number the XXX-XXX-XXXX on Sunday, 15 Oct at 1034 am, hoping they could help me track these people who made me feel like I was scrummed. I was on the phone with her for 11 mins, she tried calling them in Newport News, but no one answered. She said that she was writing all the notes and would definitely make *** or *** call me. It is Friday again, and I have not received or heard anything.
False claimed:
-They are not professional movers. 2 of my queen mattresses and box springs weren't wrapped with plastic and damaged on my items.
-They claimed to be the help that I needed during the moving process, but ended up a nightmare.
Wrong practice:
- Overcharging customer: overcharged for labor cost, which I told *** about. They reported at 445pm and was gone before 8pm. I was charged for 4 hours and 21 mins.
-Poor customer service
-not providing the customer receipt even after charging them.
- I am seeking full refund on the overcharged fee taken from our accounts. Also, I am seeking refund on my damaged furniture. I have my personal time taken from unpacking to dealing with the company. Just like they charge per hour on labor, I have put in more time trying to contact All my Sons to no avail in return. Last thing I would want to do was to seat, call people, leave a message, emails, and lastly type up my concerns because no one is helping me instead of unpacking my things. I was scammed. It's so sad that I had to deal with this, it keeps adding on the stress that I am already dealing with. And DON'T ask me to call the office again, because I've tried and tried, but I am exhausted. Come up with a better solution than just promising me to get a call back.
