I originally contracted with *** *** month prior to the move on We had used them twice before, including moving my daughter into the apartment we were now moving her out of* had a truck go down, so they subcontracted with AffordableI got a team of 3, but the just "supervised" (he was an older gentleman) and two smaller guys, not the "football players types we had in the pastThey struggled, complained and took twice the time anticipated to do the job, and expected me to payDespite what they said in phone calls today, EVERYTHING was boxed/bagged or labeledMy husband and daughter actually loaded their vans because this group was moving so slowlyThey also came with a trailer vsa step van, which made things go slowerThey complained she wads on the second floor, but that was on the contractAnd remember, one year ago we used the big guys from ***, and they did the job in hours not I expected to pay $*** not $***When

I had issues from start until finish and it's continuingThey were running late for the appointment time, so the time was pushed outThe what seem to be the crew leader was grouchy and constantly arguing with the workers while he barely did any workAs we were heading to the new location, the driver called me and said the truck broke down and they would deliver the furniture the next morningThey arrived after the time I was told, took forever to load and unload, did not care about what the customer wanted, damaged some of my items, smart mouthed, tried to charge me for an additional day and I found out he lied about the truck breaking downThe owner was very rude and unprofessionalI have been calling and calling to get my damages taken care of, but no resolution at this moment

Then she her bed was not put together right I told I would send some out on Monday but instead I sent some one out the following Wednesday to fix the bed but it was heavy to move so I made another appointment with two person to go and put the bed together right on May 14th which she agreed it was a am AppointmentMy quys showed up to fine no one home and her phone ring busy and everytime since that the line is busyI want bring some closure to this customer but I do not have any way to communicate with her

Called the business and spoke with [redacted]. She stated that a couple of weeks ago a copy of the insurance form was mailed out to Mrs. [redacted] and the form has not been sent back as of yet. [redacted] stated that she can't move forward to attempt to help Mrs. [redacted] until she receives the insurance form...

I Please review the details I have previously sent to you.In addition, it was the inability of this subbed team to perform the contracted duties in a timely and professional manner. Unlike our 2016 move into the 2nd story apartment (where the movers wrapped all the furniture before moving, as well as moved the packed and labeled boxes), Affordable movers did not wrap anything.  They tied the bottom of the sofa, but did not use any protective coverings. Additionally, the boxes were either in plastic bins, taped boxes or reusable recyclable bags. Each were labeled. And my husband and daughter moved and filled their vans as well, because their smaller trailer did not accommodate the 2 bedroom apartment.Their offer of $** is too low. I would at least like to be reimbursed $[redacted], which is one hour of their hourly rate. Regards,

I Am requesting a refund of 240 dollars from Affordable Movers for all the mishaps that took place. I was very forthcoming in my dissatisfaction of their work. Because it was so later when they finally got to my place to move they let it be known that they were tried and they conplain  the whole time just poor attitudes. They acted like they didn't understand what I was asking them to move. That is why someone came out the following day to complete the job they did not finish. But I have been trying to work with them and I can say this has been going on too long and it needs to end. That why I am requesting the refund.  Thank you for all your help in this matter.

afraid why they told shipper the truck because you do have more damages at night I wasn't aware of them telling the customer the truck broke I do apologize for  that I sent Mr. [redacted] a stand proof loss and damage claim form and asked to return it but he did not. My boss asked him  to send pictures of damages and did and we reviewed them and are willing to have this taken care of the wall marks and have some take care of the dames Items. Mr. [redacted] was rude to me and some harsh words to me. We bought their bill down from $[redacted].00 to $[redacted].00 for the inconvenience. which I thought was fair.Odessa

Mr. [redacted] stated that it took the guys 14 hours to move  it took 12 hour and two hours of travel time because of the second day.  We started moving the [redacted] in the middle of the day. Then [redacted] ask me if they could go to the old location and pickup three boxes she missed because of the lateness I said yes without any extra charge. Then she her bed was not put together right I told I would send some out on Monday but instead I sent some one out the following Wednesday to fix the bed but it was heavy to move so I made another appointment with two person to go and put the bed together right on May 14th which she agreed it was a am Appointment. My quys showed up to fine no one home and her phone ring busy and everytime since that the line is busy. I want bring some closure to this customer but I do not have any way to communicate with her.

The Affordable Moving supervisor, Byrd, advised me on moving day that they preferred we move our wall mirrors and lamps ourselves, too, they didn't want to take responsibility for moving them. I was very surprised since we were only moving 4 blocks, but set about trying to gather them up to move them ourselves. At NO time were we ever working in the same room with the movers, so we could not have slowed down their work efforts ! There was no confusion on our part about what furniture was to remain either. We made it clear to leave two small chairs in our living room, and one corner chair in the master bedroom for the buyer's of our home, that's all. We saw how slow the movers were going, and my wife and I made it very clear, just move the furniture, and boxed items only to hurry them along. Leave any items unboxed for us to move ourselves, referring to items in our walk in attic. It should have been a simple move, with us moving so much of our contents ourselves to try to save money, and to work on getting our new home set up with kitchen, and bath rooms being set up in advance. This most definitely was not the case. The crew was slow, and not at all like our prior experiences with Affordable Movers...then called [redacted]. The day Mr. R[redacted] came to our home to access the damages we called him about, he openly scolded his moving supervisor, Byrd, for not calling in for more assistance if there were problems. Byrd seemed frustrated that he had tried to hurry the crew he was given on our moving day, but without much success. Byrd did try ! We have spent countless hours and days trying to talk to all 3 insurance providers to get reimbursement for all the damages to our property and home, which should have been the R[redacted] responsibility, but they were in no way concerned with the hardships the damages were causing us. We are still awaiting reimbursement for $1750, for damages to the base of our $3000 fire pit from Summer Classics, and $500 for multiple damages to a number of pieces of furniture...PLUS the reimbursement for at least $700 for overcharging us for moving day (days). We live in a 55 and over community of small homes, ours was 2400 sq. ft., with 2 bedrooms furnished. There is no possible way any moving company would have taken 14 hours to move that size home, unless they were totally unorganized and poorly trained. These facts stand for themselves. We were the victims of extremely poor service, which resulted in close to $4000 in total damages and overcharges. I hope no one will trust this company again...they will NOT stand behind their workers poor service, nor value clients rights in any way, nor work with their own insurance companies to help bring about a claim settlement. We want them to issue us a $700 check for their ridiculous charges of moving a small well planned move in a  home of 2400 sq. ft., where items were boxed and furnishings were ready for movers for what should have taken 7 hours at most, since we had rented the [redacted] Van and moved items for a week ourselves. We hope this can be resolved finally without further action.

I hired Affordable Movers for a local move back in April of 2016. I found them to be considerably unprofessional during the move. They promised me things during the quote before the move which the reneged on when the move time came. For example, they promised that they could professionally dismantle the doors of my French door refrigerator in order to move it. However, when push came to shove, they refused to do that under the pretext that they were afraid of messing with the ice-maker (which they knew about during the quote). As a result, I had to hire a professional electrician, very costly on a Saturday. Their staff was a haphazard assortment of men some old and some young. Their leader or the crew supervisor kept dropping not so subtle hints that they expected gratuity at the end. I had every intention of giving it to them but I did not appreciate the constant reminder. My move was local but big so it took two days. I bought them lunch on the first day, but they kept reminding me: "You take care of us, we'll take care of you". On top of that they did the unthinkable: they stole from me! They stole my mini iPad by taking it out of its cover and leaving it there empty. They also stole an expensive brand new Swiss watch that was in my night stand in its box with the price tag still hanging on it. I found the box empty which tells me that, like the iPad, someone found the packaging too bulky and they wanted to stash the stolen item in their pocket or under their clothes. They also stole some items of lesser value such as a manicure/pedicure kit and some clothes. I did file a police report about the iPad, but the watch and other things I did not detect they were missing until later. I regret every penny I paid to this company. They were totally unprofessional and untrustworthy.

Review: We had used this company twice before when we changed residence and had no problems.

This move was very different.

I called and got a quote from Ms. R[redacted]. She asked me certain questions about number of rooms of furniture, types of furniture, etc. She told me 9 hours and she didn't think it would take that long. We moved many items by ourselves, clothes, lamps, boxes of odds and ends, etc. We also sold all of the furniture from one bedroom, so it was completely empty.

When the crew arrived and started to work, I noticed they were not too well organized and apparently had not worked together before. I approached the crew supervisor and told him about my concern and he said not to worry, they would have everything moved by the end of the day. Well they didn't and had to come back the next day and worked several more hours to finish. They charged me for 14 hours plus their travel time to get from their place of business to my home, for both days. The home we moved into is in the same neighborhood, four blocks away from our former home.

We also noticed that they had damaged a piece of patio furniture; a gas fire coffee table that has a value of around $3000. It is resin coated steel, and there are several chips of resin knocked out from mishandling. After they left, we looked around and noticed chunks of holes in the carpet on the stairs and in the upstairs loft. Someone had tried to press them down in an attempt to hide them. There are also scratchs on furniture as well as scuff marks on our leather sofa where they shoved and squeezed it through the door.

When I called and complained, Mr. R[redacted] and the crew supervisor came to our home and looked at the damage. When they left, Mr. R[redacted] said he would be back in touch with us.

When Mr. R[redacted] called, he said he was willing to patch the carpet and give us $700 for damages. We had researched and gotten information to repair the damages would cost well over $3000. I attempted to negotiate with him and he said that is all he would do.

I asked him to give me the name of his insurance agent, and he said he didn't have any more time to talk to me because he "had and appointment downtown." I had to press him to finally get the name of his insurance agent.

My wife and I did all of the work with the insurance companies. We found out that Nationwide is the broker and there are three other insurance carriers for the business.

I contacted Mrs. R[redacted] and told her about what we have been through doing their responsibility of contacting all of their insurance companies to get compensation for what their workers did to our home and belongings. I then told her that we want to be reimbursed for all but nine hours that they charged us to move, which we believe is more than fair. She asked me why I did not call her when I saw that the workers were slow. I told her that I went to the crew supervisor and told him and he said they would be through in one day. She told me that she would talk to the other owner and call me back the next day, which she did not do. And now three days later, I have not heard from her.Desired Settlement: I request that the billing be adjusted to quoted estimate and reimbursement for travel time for the second day. I request this based on the Office managers quote and the items to be moved were less than what was projected by me, the consumer. Also, when I had concerns about how slow the crew was working,early on the first day, I went to the crew supervisor who assured me they would be finished by the end of the day. Also for the damages which were not covered by their insurance.

Review: On 5/02/2015 Friday the movers arrived at my home at 7:33 pm. I was told they would be at y home between 12&2 pm when no one called or showed up by 2:30 pm I called the company where the same person I made the reservation with, informed me they were running late due to the rain, at 3:30 pm it was a really big couch at 5 pm it was still the big couch, the same person told me to go do my running around she would call when movers are on their way. At 6:30 pm I got a call from the mover asking what items did I need to move. They were relieved to hear that I didn't have any drawers. They also stated that they where on their way. They arrived at 7:33 pm. They did not put my bed back together properly and the move was incomplete. I called to ask them to complete the job so one of the movers met me at my old resident the following day around 12 pm. Along with him he brought his daughter, son Both teens and his grandson. He instructed them in moving my things placing items on the back of his personal vehicle. When we got to my new place he again instructed his kids to take my items into my home except three things which he gestured to his son to leave in his personal vehicle than placed the big speakers he had to cover items up. I called the number I had been calling spoke with the same individual I had been speaking with. She stated if he stole from you than yes you should call the police. I asked her if one of the others can fix the error they are on my bed she stated she will call me on Monday. It is now Wednesday my stolen items have not been returned nor my bed fixed. This company was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. Them made my move a night mare.

I Am requesting a refund of 240 dollars from Affordable Movers for all the mishaps that took place. I was very forthcoming in my dissatisfaction of their work. Because it was so later when they finally got to my place to move they let it be known that they were tried and they conplain the whole time just poor attitudes. They acted like they didn't understand what I was asking them to move. That is why someone came out the following day to complete the job they did not finish. But I have been trying to work with them and I can say this has been going on too long and it needs to end. That why I am requesting the refund. Thank you for all your help in this matter.

Affordable Movers Inc. was amazing. They were able to help me on extremely short notice, the movers took excellent care of my furniture, and made sure everything was done in a timely manner. I can't say enough good things about them.
