In Reference to *** *** *** We at AAMCO in Leesburg are going to try and repair her engine in her vehicle at no charge to her but we will not cover rental due to the fact that we rebuilt the transmission and the engine had underlying issues before the vehicle as brought in to
the shopwe have take photots of build up engine sludge that was clearly in the engine before entering our shop and also have photos of engine wer that is also previous wear, we rebuilt the transmission which has no bearing on engine performance...upon reinstalling the transmission the vehicle would not start so as a curtesy we diagnosed the vehicle and found the timing chain guide had wear which we replaced at no charge....Again the engine would not crankso we are again going to diagnose and repair the engine at no charge but will not be covering rental cost because the issues is not transmission related.David M***OPS ManagerAAMCO

to say, in all likelihood [redacted] misconstrued information he obtained while shopping prices over the phone. Furthermore, after we repaired the flat tire, the technician had to lower the window in order to fold the mirror while backing out of the garage. We immediately called the customer to question if there was any previous issues with the window. I would also like to point out that the car [redacted] brought into us was in very poor mechanical condition, with multiple, obvious needed repairs. With all that said, we would like to show goodwill and offer to reimburse the funds to [redacted]Sincerely,.Aamco Turnersville

We told her we do not pump tanks.5. Confusion lies between Mrs. [redacted] thinking we were the company she called to pump tank. That is [redacted], NOT Rick’s Repair Service [redacted].6. In spirit of resolution I will however refund her the $208.00 we charged and the $94.00 we charged, totaling $302.00. Being that our work did not solve her problem. The $75.00 must be a bill that [redacted] Service gave her. Sincerely,Richard C. CoeRick’s Repair Service###-###-####
[redacted] brought his 2010 Mercury Milan in complaining about a leak coming from the cooler lines. He was told what we would check His concern and would also preform a vehicle courtesy check at no cost. see Sign Authorization to do so by him attached. We found that the car was in fact...
leaking from the cooler lines, which were are factory items (dealer). we called 2 dealers and neither had both lines. the both had on line . only one of them showed the other but it was a special ordered part. so I asked the parts manager if I could replace the on shelf line with the one that would be in on Monday as [redacted] wanted his car for work on Sat morning. He explained it was from the service department and there was no way to exchange the line with an order form. I explained to [redacted] that the line was not available untl next week and that I even tried to get the parts dept to sell me the one on the shelf as the customer did not make appointment yet. so I had the tech repair the existing line by cutting it and flaring the end so as not to leak. The vehicle check found that the battery was completely bad and needed immediate replacement, as it was arching and one terminal had excessive corrosion due to battery acid leaking internally and out from under post. pictures attached. and the car needed rear brakes and rotors and a tune up as the plugs were original and the car had 117,132 miles and the tech said as the maintenance was well over due that he would also recommend an injection service. I informed [redacted] that he needed a battery and would soon need brakes and the tune up done as it was over due. He said he knew about the battery and he would take care of it. So we proceed with repairing his cooler lines as both were leaking from rust and the transmission fluid had already started to burn due to the system being low on fluid. When we finished the the Sat morning and went to start the car it would not start. we put a trickle charge on the battery but it would not hold a charge. As the customer said he would take care of his battery we use a different battery as alt power and found that the key was no longer programmed to the ECU (computer), /While the tech was checking the Pats system (security system involving a chip in the key and the ecu [redacted] arrived. I explained to him what was going on and he preserved to curse at me call me names and was completely rude. We found a TSB 09-14-3 (bulletin from Ford \which state that the low voltage in the battery caused the marriage of key to ecu to fail. I called [redacted] and he again proceed to curse, call me names and while I understood his frustration and what his expection was; the fact was His battery was at fault and his failure to take care of it as he knew about it was the cause and there was nothing I could do about it but follow the steps from the factory to reprogram the key. We call the auth repair people and when they came on Monday morning to reflash the system He said he would not work on the car with this battery as it was dangerous and the car could have caught on fire. So we again used another battery to provide the correct volts so the flash could be done. When he put the scanner on the system he said sorry the battery spiked and shorted out the ECU. I called [redacted] to inform him and he again when off on me. He arrived at the shop shortly after and again was cursing and yelling and telling me how enupt I was. I said to him he was lucky as the car could have cought on fire and as he was with his daughter when the car came in was a blessing. he continued to curse me and I then told him if it continued I would call the police and have him removed. He said they would do nothing and that It was my word against his. I said no your phone call was taped as he called on a internet line. He asked how much it would cost and I told him and he choose to tow his car to another shop for repair. He called Aamco Corp office to complain and I sent them the pictures of the battery and they told him we were not at fault in any way and that He needed to replace the battery as he should have before the problem happened and not of this would have happened. As to the time to write up his invoice. Yes there was a problem the the shop program and it did take a while to get it done.as it was doing all kinds of crazy things putting cars with wrong infomration. customer information missing and as I noticed did not charge correcty and that I noticed it over charged him 114.00 and refunded his money. He sit proceeded to tell me how stupid and inept I was. I felt bad for him as he was trying to get to work but decided I did not want him as a customer, as he behavior was so far out of line under any circumstances. He told me he would put reviews call you the Revdex.com and complain about me and the Home office. as neither of us agreed with him As by his letter confirms were doing everything we could and apologizing for delays we did not cause. the battery in his car did and turned out was dangerous I can find no reason to pay for repairs that were not caused by me, my employeeNote attachement under seperate email .....
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Absolutely impossible for my team to get to in the 1 day window he allowed. I wanted to drop everything and get to it but could not clear a lift. Welcome to bring it back but transmission work sometimes takes a little longer. When I tried to explain he only screamed over me on the phone. I had to...
go. The reason we couldn't get to it is because we have a great reputation and he are very busy at the moment giving our awesome customers great service. I don't know where the disconnect is for this person. Sorry we weren't able to get to it.

I was never told they were going to "perform a vehicle courtesy check at no cost." He may have unknowingly had me sign for it but was absolutely not asked like he said he did. Also just had all my brakes done within the last year or so and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. I just had it confirmed by an outside mechanic the rear brakes are fine and that he can't believe someone is saying they need work. Also lets get back to main point....I drove my car in perfectly fine, dropped it of to get a transmission fluid leak fixed. I paid for the transmission fluid leak, and then after I pay I go outside to drive my car and I'm told it won't start and that someone from Ford has to come??? Your mechanics obviously did something wrong as he kept on apologizing to me over and over again. You trying to convince me my car would have caught fire that same exact day is a joke. By the way when I was talking to the mechanic about how rude and inept you were they completely agreed with me and said people complain about you and your poor customer service all the time. Your mechanics screwed up some how and damaged the ECU and you as the owner should be responsible for it. The ECU was not damaged when I dropped the car off.

To make things even worse with Aamco and this guy, the original problem of a transmission fluid leak I thought was fixed was not. I had to bring my car and spend another $100 for 3 more bottles of transmission fluid and to tighten the bolts that Aamco did not do correctly. The new mechanic said I should bring the car back to Aamco but how could I....I have to worry about my car not working again after he takes 45 minutes to ring me up..then walk outside only to have the mechanic tell me my car won't start. I actually give him to much credit when I originally stated he fixed my transmission leak. I think marty should spend more time on fixing cars and damaging their computer systems then worrying about his hurt feelings. AGAIN......I drove my car in for a transmission fluid leak. I paid for it, walked outside and then was told my car won't start. The mechanic kept on apologizing to me and the owner said more than once to him its not your fault. Which is obviously not true. What a awful place. Then besides them damaging my whole computer system, they didn't even fix the leak correctly and I had to get it fixed somewhere else. And this guy is worried about curse words. Terrible.

Asked to have my transmission rebuilt, new flexplate, new torque converter, clutches bands, etc. When I picked up the car they charged me $3K, which is exhorbitant but I needed the truck for my work so I had no choice at the time. it had a grinding noise when trying to start, like the starter wasnt engaging fully. I drove it like that for two weeks and it didnt go away so I returned and told the manager it was making a noise when it starts. They had it for a day and said it was ready for pick up. when I went to pick it up it was still making the same grinding noise. I told the manager and he said it was a bad starter. I said I had replaced the starter two weeks before having them fix the transmission. He said it was the starter for sure, so I left. that weekend I crawled under my truck to replace the starter and noticed the starter was crooked. Upon further inspection I noticed a 1/8 in carbon fiber plate that fits between the starter and the bell housing was broken on one side. so when the starter is tightened down, it tweaks it to one side. I loosened the starter and put a metal shim in the side and retightened. The starter sound fine now.
This shop knew they had broken the plate and instead of getting a new one just put it back together and then played dumb. I told them at the shop if it wasnt the starter I was going to file a complaint and so here it is.
I will also note the two times I was there other customers were complaining about their cars. That should have been a warning to me.
AAmcos are franchises so other Aamcos might be okay, but these guys are crooks who overcharge and dont own up to their work. Dont go there.

This is a response to Mr. [redacted] complaint. According to the Canton AAMCO, they replaced the pinion seal. The truck was returned and there was leakage at the seal. They felt that it may have been a defective seal and replaced it. The manager, S[redacted] advised me that at...
that point [redacted] shared with them that the truck had been in an accident and apparently caused significant axle damage. It is the opinion of the Canton AAMCO that it would be physically impossible to cause this type of damage by replacing the seal or tightening the pinion. They have no offer to repair the problem that in their opinion is the customer's responsibility. We appreciate the opportunity to address Mr. [redacted] questions.
Addressing [redacted]'s compaint: Inspection of the vehicle determined Overdrive button on shifter and bulb for Overdrive light in dash needed replacement and parts had to be ordered. We did not say that we had to keep the vehicle. Customer could have brought it back when...
parts came in. It is incorrect that we had to "touch" the area in question. The Overdrive button simply comes out of the shifter which does not require moving and/or touching the gear indicator. While it may be true that the customer did not "make a scene" on day of original pick up of his vehicle, that is not the case on the following day when he confronted the manager. Regarding the indicator not being noted on the ticket based on our inspection, we were not asked about the indicator. We were asked about an issue with fluid levels and replacement of an overdrive button as the customer states. All this being said, we do not believe that we caused the damage to the indicator. However, in an effort of customer satisfaction, we will agree to facilitate repairs to the indicator at no charge. The customer simply needs to contact us, arrange to drop his vehicle off and we will perform the repair in a reasonable period of time.
Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/03/30) */
Customer brought in his '98 Dodge Durango on the morning of 3/9/2015 to have his transmission filter changed, and the fluid serviced- as well as the transfer case fluid, and to have a pitman arm installed that he supplied. Once that work...
was completed, the customer left and returned within 30 minutes very angry and cussing- concerned that there was no fluid in his transmission. In that 30 minute time frame, the customer lost his dipstick- so we could not validate his concern.
The following day, the customer called Aamco corporate and filed a complaint. He purchased a new dipstick elsewhere and came by here to have his fluid concern addressed. We educated the customer on the proper procedure for checking his transmission fluid, and the customer admitted that he could not see the newer fluid without his glasses. He also told us that he thought that it had to be above the hash marks on the dipstick, not in the middle. Customer was educated and took his vehicle.
On 3/13 the customer called highly agitated and cussing, with a concern that his truck would not move when put into gear. We were arranging a tow for him, when he called us back and stated that he had the Parking Brake engaged, and to disregard his concern.
On 3/16 the customer brought his vehicle back in with a complaint that the truck was not shifting correctly. While performing our Multi Point Inspection, we found the truck to have a code for a faulty TCC Solenoid, among multiple other indications of needing internal Transmission work. Customer was contacted and made aware that what was required was a transmission overhaul. He stated that he could not afford that. We made him a deal, to ATTEMPT changing the solenoid. It was made very clear by 2 Managers that this was only an attempt to get some more time/miles out of the transmission- and was in no way going to repair it (it was like a band aid). We offered the customer that if this did not work, we would credit him the cost of this attempt ($300) towards the transmission overhaul if he came back within 90 days. Customer agreed to this and gave authorization to proceed. The attempt did not resolve the issue. Customer was made aware of this, paid for the attempt and picked up his vehicle.
On 3/21 the customer called after hours (the phones are forwarded to my cell after hours) and was very aggressive on the phone, using profanity and making threats. The customer hung up. I waited a few minutes and called the customer back, attempting to get details about his complaint so that it can be addressed- at which time he made a direct threat of physical attack on me and hung up. I have not attempted contact since then.
Mr. [redacted],
We are very sorry for the time that we have had your vehicle. We understand that you are unhappy with the length of time it has taken us to repair your vehicle. The original repair was done at a sister AAMCO in anther state and we have not been able to determine what is causing...
the vehicle to fail. We have been working diligently at finding the cause of failure. We believe that we have found it and are repairing and reassembling your vehicle. We will keep you informed as to the results of the repair. Again we are very sorry for the inconvenience.
I have spoken to Mr. [redacted] several times asking to please return the vehicle to us so that we could evaluate his concerns. He has refused to do so, from what I can tell, he has taken the vehicle somewhere else.I am not sure what else we could under those circumstances.
Matter has been resolved per a call to the Revdex.com from the consumer.
