R&S Mechanical was timely, professional and very helpful. They laid out my options clearly and without pressure. The technician was knowledgeable and acted as a teacher to help me understand what was wrong and why. I would recommend R&S to friends and will use the again.

WE called them in the morning and they were out there the same day without charging us extra fees for coming out for an emergency. They fixed our problem and they were very professional. I would do and will do business with this company again.

I had drainage problem with my mini split AC. Service man showed up on time and fixed the problem in 5 minutes.

I highly recommend R & S Mechanical ... a true professional outfit where their customers for sure come first. I had called them in the morning for an issue I had with my unit and by 1:00 pm same day I had a very knowledgeable and experienced technician who resolved the issue. Technician unable to tell how much much refrigerant was needed before adding to unit,added 3 pounds & stated that it would work, unit doesn't cool.On 6/3/16, technician came to add refrigerant to the a/c unit that services the upstairs in my house. He was unable to determine how much refrigerant was needed, but stated to my husband that 3 pounds should be enough to get us through the summer and added the refrigerant, the unit does not yet cool and paid $163.07 for the 1st pound and $118.30 for each for the other 2 pounds of refrigerant and $89 for the service call. The technician did not offer any repair solutions, only offer to have [redacted] contact us for replacement options. When we call to tell them that unit was not cooling I received a call from the tech upset that I had called and saying "you called the office to complaint" but again did not offer any other repair solutions. [redacted] came on 6/7/16, spent over an hour talking talking about the only replacement unit they offer and a gave us a quote of $13,194 w/0% financing for 5 years, when I asked him how much it would if I paid him cash he stumbled since we caught on to their deceiving sales practices, he was unable to give a price, but later on email me a quote of $11,694 which means that any financing is not interest free and they are misleading consumers, they calculate into their quote rebates offered directly to consumers by Duke Progress Energy and the units' manufacturer York.[redacted] was very pushy, pressuring me into applying for financing right then and even scheduling installation dates. Their business practices are deceiving and manipulative.Desired SettlementI am seeking a full refund of $488.67 as remedy. The technician should have refused to add refrigerant if he was unable to determine how much it was needed, should have offer repair solutions if any were available. The business should have followed up when we called to complaint about the unit not cooling.Business Response [redacted] we would be happy to discuss your complaint or concerns. Our records show based on the work order form the tech that day, that he was told to put 3 lbs in the system. Here is the notes from the work order form that day in question "Received permission to add 3 and only 3 pounds of refrigerant. Unit is still not at correct charge but customer didn't want to add any more refrigerant".System must be charged based on superheat and subcooling and values.The work order also noted that you wanted options for replacement. We are not a company that pushes anything, onto people. We are a company that provides all the options and works with our customers to help them make the right decision. I would be happy to have a service manager out there to look at your system and review the findings of our technician, at no charge so we can discuss your concerns.No technician can tell you how much refrigerant exactly you need, as the system is critically charged based on values and temperatures. Yes a guess can be made, but that would not be accurate info for. Again, we take care of all of our customers, and I will be happy to make a visit or discuss any concerns.

We have been using R&S Mechanical for nearly 4 years and I use to do HVAC work myself. These guys are very professional, polite and do great work. We replaced our airhadler and condensation coils when we first bought our home, have been using R&S for regular service maintenance throughout the years and recently had a condensor unit replaced. I checked (just my nature) behind the work and it was not done half a%* in any way.
These guys are good at what they do.","pos-9
