Zeigler Ford of North Riverside

I purchased a one year old *** vehicle from Zeigler Ford of North Riverside in September of 2018. They initially made empty promises such as providing me with a spare key and floor mats, neither of which were provided upon initial contact. I chalked this up as a loss and learned lesson and moved on with my life.
Shortly after I decided to take the car in for an oil change at a *** dealership. Turns out that the drain plug was torqued in so hard that it was damaging the whole oil pan assembly. This is a 700 dollar repair. I was told that such work should be done and checked for in the safety inspection of the vehicle prior to sale, and that I should go back to Zeigler and request a certificate of compliance and proof that they had completed a safety inspection.
So that's what I did. When I approached Zeigler with this request, they stringed me along for a good 2 weeks. They were not able to procure the certificate. Ultimately, they promised me some sort of resolution, and to cover half of the cost of the repairs. After not seeing a check in the mail for 2 weeks, and reaching out to Zeigler, Vince (the used cars manager that promised me a check) decided to twist my words and pretend that nothing of the sort was offered. He stated that due to me leaving negative reviews (which were nothing but informative warnings to potential customers), he decided to not reimburse me any money.
I would advise staying far away from Zeigler of North riverside. Semi reputable dealer, terrible customer service, shady practices.
