Review: I was required to sign a contract which they proceeded to breach. Started construction 5 days late and did not have substantial completion in the 90 days stated in their contract. Although the work was average the progress was spotty at best. The project was a single car garage with an attached carport that took 5 months to complete as opposed to 2 to 3 months estimated. Mistakes, omissions had to be pointed out to foreman and or workers. The extra time for construction correlates to days that no workers showed up on site. I had specified Alpine Green gravel prior to the bid. When time came to have the gravel installed I was charged extra as it is more costly than regular gravel, no signed change order was given. The window order arrived incorrect but we were not made aware of it until after installation of incorrect window. An offer of changing it out was made but we declined as I have never seen a window seal up well after a change of glass.Desired Settlement: After stating the failures, listed above, to the President of Z Construction I asked for a forfeiture of the second half of their profit margin and I was turned down. I also would like a refund of the extra amount of the Alpine Green gravel.
