Dear Revdex.com:
I am responding to ID [redacted] complaint. When Mr. [redacted] passed away I was dealing with his girlfriend whom I had met with when Mr. [redacted] and she came in to my office to prearrange for his and her cremation. When Mr. [redacted] passed away we had 3 other...
deceased people with families wanting cremations around the same time. I got the call from the daughter in law on the weekend when I was home and not in the office and we discussed pricing, she told me to go ahead and cremate since her husband was fine with that. I had been in the office on Saturday along with the coroner and got necessary paperwork for another cremation so that person did go to the crematory. When daughter in law called me Monday morning I was still at home and didn't have any records in front of me so I did make a mistake and tell her he went to crematory.I never said he was in the basement because we don't have one but I did tell her he was being refrigerated so she didn't think he was laying somewhere decomposing. I had no problem with him being transferred to another funeral home that was less expensive. I refer families all the time. I believe I even mentioned it to his girlfriend when I met with her. I apologized over and over again and I am truly sorry I misinformed them. When the Ohio funeral director came to my office I helped him procure the necessary documents by making a phone call to the doctor and gave him the phone number for the coroner office.I am a professional and caring person and this has never happened before and I hope it never does again. I also hope the [redacted] family gets through their sadness and grief.Young Funeral Home, Ltd.[redacted]

Review: My father-in-law went to Young Funeral Home in Pa on a Sat afternoon after his death. On Monday morning I called to have him transported to a Funeral Home in Oh for cremation. Young's were very unprofessional and confused on releasing him to us. At first they said that he had been cremated already. My Funeral director and I could not figure out how they would of got his doctor and the corner to sign all paperwork and cremate him that quickly. They did not follow the correct procedures for doing a cremation and lied to us about when he was cremated. By Monday afternoon they called me and told me that they made a mistake and he had not been cremated. The words they used were ( He is still in the frig in the basement). When our Funeral Director in Oh went to get him none of the paperwork was done like they said and the situation was very uncomfortable. In dealing with people that are morning a loss I think any Funeral Home should be professional and not give out any information before they double check.Desired Settlement: I would like for people to be informed about this situation. I hope this does not happen to anyone again.
