Review: I noticed that the kitchen tiles loose and they separated from the thin set, so I called Yonker construction and relayed to them my concerns, they sent someone and said that I need to replace them They gave me an estimate of over 2400 dollars,I explained to the owner of the company they are who put them earlier I also told him that no one was living in the house from the original date of installation in 2007 untill 2011, I also explained to them that I already asked two more professional tile contractors and they all agreed it was due to poor craftsmaship, Yonker construction ownerMr [redacted] said that they are not responsible since it is been few years after that fact and he will try to contact the contractor who laid the Tiles but he never did,Yonker construction obviously subcontract with inferior subcontractors and they should honour their work,

Yonker construction should pay for the cost of the installation of new tilesI already paid someone to put them and I was charged 2300 dollarsand I incurred expenses that Yonker construction should pay for thatI have the supporting document about the inspection of the kitchenand the causation of the tiles to separate from two inspectorsI also have the estimate amount to replace the tiles

Business' Initial Response
Following are our points of response:
1. Our contract for this job was with a gentleman we believe to be the complainant's brother. At his request, the agreement says that "Tile flooring material to be supplied by owner". Our contract with the complainant's brother specifically states: "We may consent to supply materials purchased or supplied by owner, but we offer NO WARRANTY on such materials. In the event that the condition or defects in such materials require additional labor to install or repair, we can arrange with owner/agent to supply estimates or bill additional by the hour."
2. Also, in addition to the disclaimer above, it should be noted that it has been 5-1/2 years since floor installation was completed in December of 2007. California warranty for such an installation is 4 years.
3. Soon after being notified by complainant in February 2013 of damage to the floor, our representative viewed the floor and prepared a cost estimate to repair it, sending it to the complainant. The sub-contractor who performed the original installation was out of the area for the season. We contacted him on his return in May 2013. He reports calling complainant and receiving no response. It appears that in the intervening period the complainant had contracted with others to make repairs.
Given the above, we respectfully decline to reimburse for work arranged by the complainant.
