Agreed to purchase a vehicle on their lot on TUESDAY 02/18 for $17,100. Sent over a credit card deposit of $1000 on 02/19 for this vehicle over the phone to be held. Was told by Joelynn (finance manager) that paperwork was to be sent out and vehicle would be held with no specific timeline specified by dealership. Got the paperwork after a few days and signed all necessary sales agreements on 02/25 and sent back along with a check. I received a call from Joelynn on 02/29/20 stating that the check I sent put for the remainder of balance ($16,100) did not go through. I immediately looked over my banking accounts and realized I had wrote out the check from the wrong checkbook by mistake. I told her I would get a cashiers check that day and get it sent out along with the bank fee's accrued. She told me that would be perfectly fine and that she would let me know when she receives that. I sent out a cashiers check for $16,135 same day on 02/29/20. After I texted her on 03/02/20 late morning to make sure she got my tracking info to confirm payment was on its way, she informed me by TEXT with a cold message that they sold the vehicle to someone else on 02/29 same day I sent out cashiers check (reasons being it was taking to long and they had to sell it since it was end of the month). I tried calling three different managers on 03/02/20 for further explanation with no response and multiple messages left. I believe this was a complete breach of contract by this dealership. Not to mention the low business practices, no communication given, I want to warn other buyers against doing business at Yellowstone Toyota. They had no balls to call and tell me that they sold the vehicle from under me with a $1000 deposit down! Still not sure if they are even returning my money back! I have not heard from anyone by email or phone as to a remedy. Complete ethical and buying experience nightmare!! I would love to get an attorney involved.
