I obviously never sought to defraud anyone. I've done hundreds of lawn installations. I explained to *** that after we seeded it that there would be a process before a lawn was established that she wanted. Overseeing, watering, etc. I told her that we didn't handle chemical weed control in our company. I honestly don't know what else to say.

I quoted *** $1550 for a front only lawn install around May of last year. She'd clearly had since kind of issue with the turf before so I suggested we cut up all her old sod, put in new soil, seed, starter fertilizer, and cover with peat moss. I even put sod on her tree lawn from another job we had done. I never guarantee lawn installations because there are too many opportunities for unsatisfactory outcomes. The customer could not be watering enough, there could be grubs, maybe too much sun, etc. Even with those variables, I came back to this customers home and added granular weed control to the turf. I even volunteered to come this season and aerate and overseed. Fact is, I did the work I was paid to do. I rented equipment, bought materials, and paid my guys she accepted the project as complete, and I collected my payment. I have pictures of the completed work as well. Weeds germinate from weed seeds. I didn't plant those. I'm not sure how I can fix this, but I can't refund the payment when the work was actually done. Please advise me as to what to do next.
