After hurricane Matthew pushed a large pine tree into our garage and related damage XRC repaired trusses, eaves, soffits and garage ceiling along with a new roof. The work was completed in a timely fashion with quality materials and workmanship at a competitive price. Our insurance company adjuster gave us an unrealistic estimate. XRC negotiated a settlement with our insurance company by pointing out damage that the adjuster missed. I recommend this company for roofing and construction work.
Mr., we greatly appreciate your five star review and positive feedback! When working with customers that have insurance claims we simply just share and explain only our repair costs as a quality contractor to what it will take to repair the storm damages. We are glad that your insurance company approved our estimate and look forward to working with you in the future!
Everyone we dealt with was friendly and personable. The new roof proved to be a two day job. The project supervisor arrived before 7:00 AM, and the crew arrived about 20 minutes later on both days. The crew went to work almost immediately and didn't leave to 9:00 PM on both days. During those two days, and even for a few days after, other personnel came by to talk with us, and check on the job. We even met with a representative from ***, the company that supplied the materials.
After the job was complete, we had some overgrown shrubs removed and/or trimmed, and found many more nails. These nails were next to impossible to detect before we had the shrub work done, as they were large shrubs preventing easy access. An email to the company brought the supervisor back out within an hour to do more nail removal.
Communication was outstanding and response was swift. I can't say anything negative about the company, personnel, crew, or the finished product. I would highly recommend XRC to anyone who has any type of roofing needs.
Mr.,
Thank you for your kind feedback and positive review! It was a sincere pleasure serving you and your wife. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with you!
Storm door installed leaks and I have not received warranty papers and lien release
My rear storm door was replaced in 2019 (hurricane related) and the door was leaking at the top and in March, XRC sent an employee to try to fix it, he tried weatherstripping (still leaked) and told me he would return later to try something else. I did not hear from anyone at XRC. I called XRC on May 28th (Lacey) and was assured that they would contact the local office and get in touch with me (which no one called) and that the papers would be sent to me by email ASAP (also didn't happen). On June 1, I contacted an employee of XRC (Hunter) and he assured me that he would get the person over this work to get with me the next day (didn't happen) so I called the person myself (Chris) and he said he would get back with me to possibly come by on Thursday June 4 (also didn't happen). XRC has been paid fully by my insurance company and I have a paid receipt from XRC.
I want the rear patio door fixed so it doesn't pour water in on my interior door, and i want my warranty papers and release of lien papers sent to me.
In reference to the warranty papers and release of lien, the customer was aware that we could not release those until the job was paid in full. We received final payment in March but due to COVID-19 our office was working remotely and we were unable to obtain the appropriate signatures and documents needed within the office. The customer has now been sent their warranty docs and release of lien paperwork. We do apologize for this delay. In reference to the door, we have been in contact with the customer to notify him that we have gone ahead and purchased a new door due to this unfortunate situation and it will be installed next week, the week of the 15th.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
XRC emailed me on the 30th of March and said they received final payment and that when they figured out how to fix my storm door they would then send me the lien release and warranty. I didn't hear from them until I called May 28th, they assumed the door was fixed but no one ever came to fix the door after March 12th (they would have to order new door and frame). I understand the virus epidemic as far as office personal but XRC was working as the emails I received said.
I highly recommend XRC. We had change orders as we went through the job, but all was handled professionally. Jeffrey always kept me up to date on the job status. Everyone involved was honest and I would use them again without hesitation.
Ms. W,
We are more than appreciative of your kind words and positive review. We are pleased to hear that you had a great experience with our team and Jeffrey! We look forward to working with you again!
I'm needing to get the outside of my roof fixed replaced and done as well as the inside
they came out to my house a few weeks ago and said that they were going to start construction but now they're telling me I owe more money and I don't have a problem with giving them money but I need to see results before I start relinquishing any more money and that was stated for my insurance company
I am wanting to have my roof replaced and fixed as my roof was before the hurricane I have been going round and round and round with them and this is my second formal complaint against them my insurance company stated to me not to give them any more moneys until I see progress on the roof and I have agreed to do that but yet we still have not came out here with elation I've already given them a summer $23,000
In response to Ms. R's complaint, we have been in constant communication with her and her son. We have scheduled our sub to repair the chimney issue on 10/22/19 and are making steps towards their completion.
My roof has not properly done rebuilt I have a wiring issue also no insulation drywall and ceiling has not been completed
Extreme roofing in the Panama City office will not answer their phone I cannot get ahold of anybody they have not done what they were obligated to do with the assignment of benefits which was to complete the roof and to finish the roof after monies have already been paid to them through me and through my insurance company I have got unnecessary holes unnecessary problems and unaccounted for repairs that have not been done to my roof the first roof had to be taken off and redone again because of their lack of judgment and poor quality of rebuilding the roof after hurricane Michael it has been an ongoing battle since then I have no insulation I have not even had the mold remediation done yet as of this moment
All I want is my roof to be put back to the way it was before hurricane Michael and it to be completed and finished it has been almost a year since the hurricane and we literally had assignment of benefits on January 24th of this year and I know it does not take almost to a year-to-date to get a roof put back on the house it is not even completed let alone the inside of the roof is not even completed as far as the inside repairs as of well the outside
Our staff in Panama and also here in Central Florida has spoken to Ms. R numerous times in reference to her project. We are aware of the unfortunate issues that the subcontractor has caused in regards to her roof and have been working to get the issues fixed permanently. Additionally our insurance department is working to get supplements approved this way Ms. R will not have to pay out of pocket for any sheathing. We know it has been a difficult time getting her roof back to pre-existing condition and it is unfortunate that there has been issues with the roof replacement.
We apologize for that sincerely and take full responsibility but we can assure Ms. R that our team is working together to make sure these problems are addressed and addressed correctly.
I never contacted Xtreme Roofing and Construction for my roof replacement. I do not trust them and do not have any confidence in Xtreme Roofing.
I never contacted Xtreme Roofing and Construction for my roof replacement. I do not trust them and do not have any confidence in Xtreme Roofing to be on my property. I was referred to David ***, by a friend for an interior construction job I needed done inside my house. On March 30, 2019, David came to finalize the paper work for the interior construction job. Upon further questioning from David, he asked me how long have I been in my house and when I told him 14 years, he stated he can also work with my insurance to obtain approval for a new roof. I explained to David that I did not have any money to pay for a new roof. David reassured me that I would not have to pay any deductibles. He further explained that I should sign a preliminary contract to start the process with my insurance company, ***, which I did. David informed me that I will sign another "official legal contract" once I was approved by *** who would cover the charges for the new roof. David was terminated before I signed the official legal contract. However *** did assess my roof and approved the roof replacement. On June 10, 2019, Ben a representative from Xtreme Roofing and Construction came to my house. I asked Ben to call his manager because I had several questions about the preliminary contract. Ben called his manager, Mr. Mathew***. I explained to Mr. that I was informed by David, the employee he fired, that I signed a preliminary contract. Therefore, Mr. agreed to make an addendum to the contract to include the items I wanted removed and the items that we agreed to because of all the promises from his former employee. After months went by, I never received the addendum from Mr.. Therefore, I sent two certified letters requesting the preliminary contract be null and void since it was signed under false pretenses and since I was told it was not the official legal contract.
I no longer want to work
with Xtreme Roofing and Construction but they want to hold me liable after I was lied too, deceived and misinformed.
Regarding the addendum, I requested the following to be removed from the contract. " The Customer's responsibilities will include: A) You pay us any and all portions of the Contract Price not covered by your insurance, this includes but is not limited to changes, deductibles, upgrades, depreciation, b) Payment of your deductible under your insurance policy when you sign this contract, e)You will provide electricity, water and toilet facilities for our use unless otherwise stipulated in writing, f) You provide access to the property during our normal hours for nonemergency work: for emergency work and/or when we leave equipment on site, you will provide access at all times until the emergency has resolved and we have removed our equipment, g) Unless agreed to in writing, you assume full responsibility for protection and make no claim against us for any loss or disappearance or damage to the contents of the insured property you also bear the risk of loss and therefore it is your responsibility to insure the property, your personal property and valuables, h)You will make no claim against us for all additional work or services that are performed and/or any other party(including any contractors, subcontractors and their workmen, i) If a superior creditor sues to foreclosure upon property, you agree to assign to us any surplus proceeds from a forced sale to the aggregate of the outstanding portion of the Contract price(and/or our lien therefore), interest, costs, and attorney's fees, (j)you waiver the time limitations under Florida Statute 713.06(2)(a) and 713.22(1). For Xtreme Roofing to remove all the addendum Items that Mr. Appell had agreed to remove from the contract or to void the contract completely. Paragraph 2, section a) agreed or estimates "Contract Price" set forth above or if costplus, the cost(s) of our work (determined by Xactimate pricing) plus 20% thereon as/for overhear and profit." And also the following to be included "No deductibles out of pocket for Mrs. Thenor, No additional costs out of pocket, etc. deductibles to Mrs. Thenor,***, Date work is schedule to start, warranty information, material used, color/type/company, wood used underneath , manufacturer/thickness, exact cost of roof and no more lies." Or
Despite her statements to the contrary, Ms. Thenor did contact XRC through David *** who was one of XRC's employees at the time she entered into this agreement with XRC. Mr. no longer works with XRC and no other employee were present during Mr. discussions with Ms. Thenor. However, XRC's employees are very aware of the fact that they cannot agree to waive a deductible. That is why XRC's contracts specifically state that the homeowner is responsible to pay the deductible. Ms. Thenor's complaint shows that she entered into this contract after speaking with Mr. -- and the contract clearly shows that she is responsible to pay her deductible. Thus, if she was told something different, as she now claims, then she should have disputed the agreement prior to signing it. Mr. Appell did not, and would not, agree to waive the deductible or to remove the other terms and conditions from the contract because that would destroy the entire agreement. XRC worked with Ms. Thenor's insurance company and got her claim approved. During that entire process, she did not raise these issues. It was only after the claim was approved and she had received the funds from *** that she insisted that the contract be terminated. XRC is willing to grant the termination, however, per the terms of the agreement, Ms. Thenor owes XRC 20% of the total approved claim amount as compensation for the work XRC performed in getting the claim approved. To date, she has refused to honor this agreement.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not owe XRC 20% of the approved claim as I was lied to by his employee, David ***, into entering the contract. The only truth from the rebuttal by XRC is the statement that " no other employees were present during Mr. discussions with Ms. Thenor". However, on June 10th, 2019, Mr. Appell, one of his employees, myself and another witness heard that Mr. Appell did agree to make an addendum to the contract which included no out of pocket cost. As weeks went by I never received the addendum and still have not received it so at that point was when I requested the contract to be terminated. As I stated before, I signed the contract because Mr. stated that the form was a preliminary contract in order to start the process with ***. Mr. did promise that I would not have any out of pocket expenses and that was the reason the form was signed. I do have a text message stating that Mr. was well aware that I would not be able to afford any fees and not in agreement to pay anything out of pocket to XRC. Lastly, please note, I do not have the insurance check/funds in my possession.
We believe we stated our case in our first response. Ms. Thenor signed our contract and per our conversation with Mr. Appell, he stated that there was no agreement that any verbiage/addendum's from our contract would be removed or re-verbalized. He stated that he told Ms. Thenor he would be willing to work with her if she was unable to pay her deductible and we would offer financing, as we do for all of our customers. Again, we are more than willing to terminate our contract with Ms. Thenor but due to our office working diligently on getting Ms. Thenor's claim approved by her insurance company, which was our job to do, we will still be asking for our termination fees for the mentioned clerical work.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Again another lie by Mr. Appell. Mr. Appell was on speaker phone on June 10,2019 and I had another individual present during the phone conversation. That was the only time I spoke with Mr. Appell. Everything stated from that rebuttal is false. I do have a copy of the form from XRC where I wrote my changes based on the phone conversation on June 10th. I also have text messages showing that I was deceived by XRC. I do not owe XRC any money because as I mentioned before I was lied to when this contract was signed. Again, I was told it was a preliminary contract and not the official contract. I will not be bullied by XRC.
They are sending me unsolicited email and won't stop.
They are sending me unsolicited email and won't stop.
Stop sending me unsolicited email
We sincerely apologize for the unwanted emails to Mr. Johnston. We have removed him from our email list and he will no longer receive our monthly updates.
I signed a contract with this company on Nov. 1, 2018. There has been 2 personal appearances made in the Panama City office because phone calls never get returned. Those appearances didn't make much headway either. They did send a crew in to do mold mitigation one day only as they used my dryer as a ladder and caved the top in to the extent of it rubbing the drum.
The second apperance was rushed with I'll look into this for you and get back with you shortly. Well that never happened and I decided to call the office. A gentleman named Jim did return my call and told me that the roofing supplies were order and that my roof would be done by Feb. 1. I decided to send the company an email that outlined all contact attempts and the results because the home has major structural damage that the company has failed to inspect before ordering and supplies.
That promoted them to send this Jim guy to us when we requested a meeting with the owner. Our first request to speak with the owner was on Jan. 24. Jim realized on that visit that the company had made some mistakes, and said he would talk with the owner to see what he needed to do next. Jim was at our home on Jan. 25. He stated he would get back with us no later than Mon. Jan 28. Well Jan 28, 29, and 30 came with no contact. I then called Jim and the home office in Orlando where I spoke with Diane requesting the owner *** to call me, I also send and email to the main email requesting *** to contact me. I followed with that Email two days later because I had yet to get a response. Jim came to our home on Jan 31 with a structal engineer to finally inspect the Integrity of our structure.
It has been 2 weeks with no reapins
I have again called the main office in Orlando requesting *** to call me and that was Monday Feb. 4. I have yet to get a response from *** so that I can discuss my concerns with him. The service and the fact that they wrapped my studs in plastic while the roof still leaks and have trapped the rain water in the walls and ceiling
Other (requires explanation) I want to be contacted by the owner *** like I original requested 2 weeks ago.
The customer has received a phone call from the owner, *** and discussed how the remainder of the job would be conducted on 2/13/19. Since then the project has been in production and our insurance department is still working to get the entire job/estimate approved.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There is no project in production. XRC, LLC worked outside of normal working hours replacing our chain link fence, by having two vehicles headlights lighting the backyard, which disrupted the neighbors on the street behind us. They reused old material causing the fence to be high and low in several pplaces.Once that job was finished after the promised completion date and in poor Workman ship, we cancelled their building permit and sent a cancellation of contract letter certified return receipt that they signed for on March 4. Today March 11 was the deadline for them to dispute the cancellation or to sign it in agreement and return it.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have resolved my issues with this company by cancelling the agreement. I hope the company is in agreement and returns the insurance money to the mortgage company. Otherwise I'll seek legal counsel and add court cost and attorney fees to the case.
I don't feel I need to further this complaint with the Revdex.com. I would like to use the complaint in court if necessary.
The customer signed a contract with XRC to do all work that was/is approved by the insurance company. XRC has provided emergency tarping services, mitigation work on the interior, sent an engineer to inspect the roof which confirmed that the roof needed to be removed and completely rebuilt, installed the fence, have had continued correspondences with the customers insurance company to get the work that needs to be performed approved and also created all necessary Xactimate estimates. Due to this being a hurricane claim it takes insurance companies longer to approve and/or deny claims because of the amount of damage that has to be examined and can cause more irritability for all parties involved because of the waiting period. Throughout this time we do what we can to provide services that we know has been approved which is what we have done to the best of our ability thus far. In regards to the statement made about work being performed outside of business hours, given a deadline and the subcontractor not being able to be there on time (which happens often being in a hurricane affected area and with this we understand the frustration), the team did what they felt necessary to get the job completed. If the customer did not want the team working in the evening, they could have notified the project manager to see if they could come back another time. With this being said though XRC is and has been disappointed to hear that the customer is dissatisfied with the services they have received thus far. We strive to provide excellent customer service not only in the office but also in the field. We have been working with many customers that have been affected by Hurricane Michael and are doing our best to make sure everyone is taken care of to the best of our ability. We are more than willing to do whatever is necessary for the customer to be satisfied with the work that has been performed i.e. the fence, etc. thus far and are still willing to perform all work approved by the customers insurance company.
I was not provided a copy of the wind mitigation report that was performed after numerous calls and emails
XRC replaced my roof and afterward came and completed the wind mitigation report. I have asked repeatedly for a copy of it and they will not return calls or respond to me.
Provide me with a copy of the wind mitigation report.
I was supplied the wind mitigation report - you can withdraw this complaint
