Wyoming Valley Auto Sales Reviews (%countItem)

I recently purchased a used car from Wyoming Valley Auto Sales. As soon as I drove off lot my service engine light came on. I turned right around and took it back to them and they tested it with a handheld machine and told me to call their garage. So the following day I called their garage they said they have been doing business with for 30 some years. The mechanic told me I would need an input speed sensor but don't worry too much about it the car will be fine to drive, he will order one. so 4 days went by I wasn't hearing anything so I called and he said the part just came in if I want to bring it the following day. So the following day I did just that left it in the morning. Late in the afternoon I checked the status and he said it is the incorrect part I could come pick up vehicle and that the vehicle needed brakes and rotors, I said oh....okay. So 5 days went by I called him again he said he is having a hard time finding part, that there is nothing he can do to help me, to deal with WVAS. I went right to talk to Dave and Carl at WVAS. They told me they will send me to another garage or get the part themselves. So okay days go by, I am in Allentown with my two children and we barely made it there and barely made it home. I called the WVAS and told them this and again was told take it to our garage. So I did. Garage said "as we told you there is nothing we can do". So I told WVAS this and they said ok we will get back to you. 2 days later I was taking my kids to school and at the red light my car wouldn't go. I of course was in total panic as was my kids. We almost got hit a couple times. I got to bus stop and cried. I thought what can I do, they are not even trying to help me, so I took it to the local *** Dealer, ***, They performed a full diagnostics and the mechanic told me this vehicle is very unsafe, the transmission is bad and the catalytic convertor is bad. I went right to WVAS with this paper statement and was totally screamed and yelled at by Dave and Carl. Help!!

Wyoming Valley Auto Sales Response • Jul 11, 2018

We always strive to make the customer happy and are sorry the you are unhappy. We would never knowingly sell a vehicle which did not meet state standards. While you have reported some issues, no one, not even the *** dealer, can verify the driveability concerns that you have expressed - in other words, no one can replicate the problem that you are reporting. In fact, when we drove the car for an extended period of time, the car operated normally. While we understand that the check engine light has come on, they frequently come on with no issues. We have spoken to the garage where you took the vehicle, and they have indicated that they believe that the problem is a sensor issue. We have offered and continue to be willing to work with you to replace the sensor and alleviate your concerns. Looking forward to hearing from you.

At this point, we just keep rehashing the same items. We have repeatedly indicated that we will test drive the car to see if there is an issue. It appears that you and your mother are not communicating on this. After your complaint, your mother and Fred took the car for an extensive test drive, and there were no driving issues. You took the car to the *** dealer who could not replicate any driving concerns. You have decided that you do not want to bring the car back or have Fred come to you to test drive it. If the car truly has no power and stalls, it will show up in a test drive. From the information we have, there is a simple fix so that the check engine light will go off and stay off. You do not appear to actually want to resolve this issue. There is nothing further we can do if you do not cooperate.

I am rejecting this response because: Rehashing... that's because you don't get it. Yes, my mother and I talk everyday. No, she did not drive the vehicle with Fred or anybody. You tell me you will scan it again....Tell me how many times have we done this... It's the same old song and dance...Speed Sensor... You and your garage told me you cannot locate this part anywhere. Also *** deals with *** vehicles, I am sure they have more experience in this vehicle than you guys do. You are a sales lot, not mechanics, plus they performed a full diagnostics on the vehicle. . They have told me as provided on the copy that it is a problem more that a speed sensor. Trust me I want this taken care of in the worst way, this has been a nightmare. But I want you to be fair and honest, that's all it takes. This car I have paid CASH for has sat in front of my house 3 months . Do any of you have young children? Well, I don't know if you can understand that day the vehicle stopped in major traffic to a stand still and I couldn't get it started for a long time., with cars coming at us both ways... can you understand the fear as I knew my 5 year old was in the back seat. I have been in advice of legal counsel to pursue it other ways but I tried this way first to give you a chance to be honest. But now I will have to do what I have to do. I have been reading a lot of comments on different sites on your sales lot and I found 95% of the comments to be almost same problems as me, amongst others and really no positive comments about your company. A lot of them have had problems with you with no solutions to the customer. But, you aren't accredited anyway by the Revdex.com, so why would you care. I am so frustrated with this whole situation.

I went to see a used car, I was told I would have to have a minimum down payment of $600 for the loan. The more I put, the better the chances of me getting the loan. After finding out the interest and loan payment was way more than what I could afford, I called and spoke with Dj, whom I was originally working with, for my $600 back. We were under the impression that the check would be held until everything was signed and approved, and that if the deal fell through the check would be voided or returned, at no point did they specify it was non-refundable, we were misled. I was informed that it was non-refundable and that it wasn't used for the loan, but for them to hold the car. I was not told this when I went to look and test drive the car, and I have 2 other people, my father, and my boyfriend, who would testify that we were told it was for the loan, not for them. I spoke with 2 different people on multiple occasions, and the owner flat out refused, to give the money back. He insisted that I either put MORE money down for a cheaper car or I sign a different loan, but after all that happened I just couldn't go through with it. It would be a completely different story if we were told that it was to hold the car. But, we weren't. We were told that the bigger of a down payment, towards the loan, the chances of me getting accepted for the loan were. Which is what I was under the impression of, if I knew that it was to hold the car, I wouldn't have put so much money down, I also wouldn't be filing a complaint. All, I want is my $600 that I worked really hard for to be given back.

Please be advised that I represent Wyoming Valley Auto Sales. Please see the attached Invoice. Ms. put down what is clearly marked as a non-refundable deposit and signed the document. The policy is to always require a non-refundable deposit to hold a car. My client only would return the deposit if a loan is not approved. She and/or her father applied for the loan and were approved. They then decided that the no longer wanted to buy the car. As a result my client rightfully kept the deposit. Although not obligated to do so, my client did offer to do in house financing for a much smaller loan, which would have required a bigger deposit and/or cheaper car, but Ms. declined that offer. My client continues to be willing to help if possible. If Ms. wants to explore further options, she is welcome to come in and see if something can be worked out.

I am rejecting this response because: it was NOT disclosed to myself, my father, and my boyfriend who were with me that this is how the procedure worked! We were told that the higher the down payment the better chances of a loan. We were NOT told that the main purpose of the down payment was to hold the car and upon approval of a loan would it be cashed. We were mislead and it should have been clearly stated when giving over my $600! I rejected the offers giving because I dont have more money to put down towards a car, that $600 was it. And when offered in house fiancing I was told over the phone by Dave that I would he rejected anyways. What would be the purpose of me doing this, if there was no way out?
