Funds not credited to recipient’s account
On August 17, 2023, I did a transaction of $2,270.15 to be credited to a recipient’s account in Nigeria. The recipient has not received the transfer and it has been very challenging receiving a tangible feedback from WorldRemit regarding this transaction. WorldRemit claims the delay is due to a technical issue and that it is coordinating with its local partners. However, WorldRemit has failed to communicate the timelines within which it plans to resolve this issue. It has been 6 days since my account was debited by WorldRemit but it appears they do not have any intention of crediting the recipient’s account or reversing the money into my account given their lack of communication or tangible update on the status of the transfer. I am being requested by WorldRemit to send private messages through Facebook and Twitter, two platforms that I do not use. WorldRemit customer care agents only respond when I post comments on their instagram page and do not pick their calls. It has been very frustrating contacting this company. I have provided the recipient’s bank account statement to WorldRemit as proof that the money has not yet been deposited but did not receive any response from WorldRemit. I want WorldRemit to credit the recipient’s account immediately or refund my money since the transaction should originally have been delivered within an hour of its initiation. I would have rated this company a zero given my experience, but the 1-star is so I can submit this review.
