I gave them my current address and they sent me to collections without ever sending me a bill. Somehow, I don't know how, they used an address I lived at 5 years ago. If the front desk staff had read and properly entered my address I gave them this would not have happened. Furthermore, I was told someone could call me with results if everything was fine. They didn't, so I had to drive, use my time and pay copay/left over from insurance deductible just for a 30 second appointment. So now 4 months later I get a call $500 is owed to collections and my stress could've been avoided if they communicated competently on their end.

Desired Outcome

Correction to a credit report I do not want the fact that I was incorrectly sent to collections to affect my credit report.

Dear patient, I would first like to apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. It is never good when someone is sent to collections, let alone when there was a mistake involved. After reviewing your account, it appears your insurance didn't pay anything for the 4 visits to the office because they applied the entire balance ($586.99) to your deductible. Regarding the address, I am terribly sorry about the confusion. It appears the address that we had on file matched the address of your drivers license. If you stated to the front desk staff that your address changed and it wasn't changed, I sincerely apologize. Our billing system automatically generates bills and send them every month if the balance is not paid. The system will automatically send a pre-collection letter to the address on file and will then send the account to collections if not paid within 10 days. In the case, based on your comments, it appears you didn't receive the three or four bills that were sent to the address on file. I have sent a request to our billing team to remove the account from collections so we can send new bills to the correct address. Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience. We can clear this all up by pulling the account out of collections and getting these invoices paid. We are happy to help you with anything you need to rectify the situation. I will call you to obtain your correct address to make sure the correct one is now on file. If you have any additional questions, please call our office and ask to speak to the office manager.
