Woodspring Suites Hotel

I booked a room for one month but only stayed two days. The hotel charged me for the entire month because they said I had a contract. I booked the room four days prior to arriving. The hotel broke the contract because I was called at 8:00pm, by the hotel, to tell me that they did not have a room for me and I would have to find other accommodations. I stayed at a *** that night and was told that I would have a room by 2:00 pm the next day at the hotel I booked with. I arrived, after work, around 4:00pm. and was told that my room wasn’t ready yet. I went to eat dinner and came back to be told that my room was ready but they would have to bring me sheets. I waited until bedtime and no sheets. I went to the office and got my sheets to make my bed. When I laid down to go to bed the pillows smelled of cigarette smoke and it was supposed be a nonsmoking room. I stayed two nights then decided to move across town, closer to my work. I called to tell the manager that I was moving and she said she would have to see if they could refund my money. I have called several times to talk to Sondra, the manager. The hotel office did not answer my phone calls nor did Sondra call me back as promised. Finally, a few weeks later I talked to Sondra and was told, by her, that she was waiting for the corporate office to see how to reimburse my money. Today, 1/8/2020 I was told that they do not refund money because that is their policy. They told me I had a contract for the month. I believe that they broke the contract by not having me a room the first night and for not having me a room ready the next night until late. All I want is the $723.40 that was charged to my credit card. I left more than enough money to pay for the two nights. I was willing to pay what is correct but I do not feel that they upheld their part of the contract. I have receipts from the other hotel, I stayed at, to show that I did not stay at that hotel.

I checked into WoodSpring suites on Wilson road on June 19,2019 and I paid for 7 days of stay as I was there for work. I checked in and as I open the door to walk to the elevator the whole hotel smelled of marijuana very bad, I get to my room and sit on the bed and the bed broke, I pick up the room telephone to call the front desk and it does not work so I call from my cell phone and tell them my bed is broke and my phone in the room does not work, I was told they would send maintenance to my room. No one ever came to my room so after sleeping on a broke bed for 2 nights I call again on June 21 and they moved me to another room, I then RECIEVED a phone call that my brother was having an emergency brain surgery so I asked if I could be refunded for the remainder of my stay due to the emergency and the manager refused, I understand they have a no refund policy but due to the unexpected circumstances I would think they would reconsider. So I get to my new room on June 21 and the door does not lock, again I call and I’m switched to another room, I get to my new room and the toilet is broke, my stay at this hotel was horrible, pit bull dogs everywhere in this hotel and the marijuana smell never got better.

We stayed at this location for 2 months, paid on time, did not cause any issues. Suddenly this woman started causing issues for our family resulting in us being kicked out. They refused to acknowledge what we said and allowed only the white woman to plead her case. We were told no redund would be given to us, even though we were the innocent party. This business needs shut down and I know of plenty of ex residents who went thru the same thing including having their prices raised at random moments. A complaint will be filed with CRC as well as a lawsuit filed. The NAACP has also been notified and the news will have the police report showing we are the innocent party.
