Review: On December 11,2014 I signed a contract with Robert W[redacted], owner of Wood Flooring and Design to complete home improvements on my house. On 12/11/14, I also paid a deposit of $1,245.00 for materials and half labor and the check cleared my account. The total cost of the job was $1,790.00. The contract required home remodeling to begin on 12/20/14 and finished on 12/28/14. On 12/20/14, Robert Wood did not show up at my home to begin work. Upon my calling Robert, he stated that he misread the contract and that he could not begin on that day (12/20/14) as he was on a job and he had plans with his son the next day. As a result, Robert stated he would still complete the work on 12/28/14 by conducting all remodeling activities the next weekend 12/27 and 12/28. On the afternoon of 12/26/14, Robert W[redacted] contacted me and stated he would not be able to do the remodeling that weekend (12/27 & 12/28) because he had the flu. I requested the contract cancelled since he could not finish by 12/28/14 and my money returned. As of this date, 1/11/15, Robert W[redacted] has not returned my money. I contacted him twice and the first time he stated he sent a check but it was returned back to him in the mail because he put the wrong address on it.Desired Settlement: I am submitting this request to have my full deposit ($1245) returned as soon as possible since the contractor could not meet and broke the terms of the agreement.
