In January and February 2024 my wife was experiencing electrical issues with her 2001 Jeep. There is some sentimental attachment to the Jeep and otherwise it is in great shape with low miles. My mechanic determined there was some degradation in the engine wiring harness. The wiring harnesses of the period are very part number specific. The part was discontinued and a new replacement was impossible to find. He and I searched for a used replacement harness and after some time we still hadn’t found one. I embarked on a quest to find someone who could repair the harness. I came across Wiring Harness Restoration online. They had an impressive website and boasted of excellent work. At the time, I didn’t see much in the way of reviews. When I contacted them, their “sales” team was very responsive and offered a no obligation testing and quote. In May of 2024, I sent them my harness since I knew it had issues and the quote for the basic service (bronze level) seemed reasonable, but the wait time was rather lengthy due to many harnesses allegedly in the queue ahead of me. The next level (silver) had fewer harnesses in line, and the top level (gold level) had only 9 harnesses in line ahead of mine however the cost was nearly 3 times and came with some minimal added services. The estimated “average” time for harness restoration was reported to be 2-4 weeks so I figured it might be as long as 40 weeks to complete my harness and was willing to be taken advantage of to purchase the quicker turnaround time.
Once the payment was made, the responsiveness ended and I was told to communicate with “Production” in writing and not by phone. I was soon told I could ask for an update once a month. Soon thereafter when I asked for an update just a few days short of 30 days, I did not get an update but raters a curt response that it hadn’t been 30 days, and I could only request an update every 30 days.
In January of 2025, 8 months after they had my harness and full payment, there were still 6 harnesses in line ahead of me. They offered me just under 3% of the purchase price to cancel the order and return my harness AS-IS allegedly disassembled and with the connectors removed.
Skipping ahead, it’s been over 2 years and I still don’t have my harness and “Production” cannot or will not give me an estimated completion date. The best I get from them is “As stated in the contract, update requests are limited to once every 30 days. As noted in our previous email, we will contact you once the harness has cleared QC inspection and is ready for the next stage.” Basically, we’ll tell you when we’re ready to tell you.
Another red flag, all emails come from either “Sales” or “Production” at Wiring Harness Restoration LLC. I have asked for a name several times and never received a response.
After a year of dealing with this person, I had an attorney thoroughly review the agreement (a little over a year too late) to explore my options. I was told the agreement is really well written and, in his opinion, it was designed to take my money, and most people would probably give up before they ever had to deliver. His opinion was I would be lucky if I ever saw my harness.
On June 18, 2026, I was notified my harness was complete and ready to ship. I sent a prepaid return shipping label within hours of receiving the email. This was 2 years, 3 months, and 1 day from the day I paid for the service. My harness was allegedly in production for 12 weeks and 3 days.
On June 24, 2026, 2 years 3 months and 7 days after I paid full price for the fastest and best service with only 9 harnesses in line ahead of mine, I finally received my harness.
Read his contract and understand it fully. After paying the initial quote and then paying an "expedite" fee, completion of the work took nearly 2 years. If you publicly complain, you'll be sent a threatening letter from an attorney saying, you'll be charged $150 hour and must participate in arbitration. You have absolutely no recourse with WHRC. Don't send them your business unless you have a ton of money and patience.
I have sent this company me vehicle wiring harness. I have emails between me and and individual named mike. I had sent them my wiring harness through the mail I paid for the shipping. They had reviewed it and said they could fix it. So I shipped off the harness and it’s been 8 months since I have last seen the harness and keep emailing them and getting different answered. I have paid in full over $800I have all the invoices that have showed that I have made the payments and still no wiring harness. At this time I’ve had to go a different route to fix my vehicle.
