I had booked a wedding photography session with this business, she then proceeded to make a Facebook post stating she was no longer doing weddings effective immediately. My wedding at that time was two weeks away and left me in a bind. I then tried to get my deposit back because she cancelled on me and provided no service. I found another photographer last minute, and again asked for my deposit back. There was a lot of back and forth with her saying I cancelled on her so the deposit is non refundable because I found another photographer. I have many screenshots from her original posts and all of the messages moving forward. All I was asking for was my $75 deposit back.
Product_Or_Service: Wedding photography
Refund All I would like is for my $75 deposit back.
There is NO contract made up. Nothing was ever signed. I stated in my Facebook page that I would no longer be doing weddings, starting immediately. I still planned on doing hers. A photography friend of mine commented on that status to send them her way. So I tagged *** in the comments IN CASE she wanted to have her do them instead, but got no response. So I assumed I was still doing the wedding. She then came to me and requested her $75 deposit back AFTER she found someone else to take her pictures. I asked her "oh did you find someone else?" And the. Explained that deposits are none refundable. She went out of her way and found someone new. I NEVER forced her to find anyone else. Again, I was still aspecting to do her wedding. I do have all the original messages.
I also have all the original messages and screenshots of her post. I do not feel like this was resolved and I think this is poor business practice. I have more screenshots of other Facebook posts where people I do not know also read the original post and took it the same way I did. And in the original post I asked if I would be receiving my deposit back, it was not after I found another photographer.
Again, as stated, there was no contract made up. She took it upon herself to find another photographer. WineRock never stated to her that they would not be doing her wedding. She was tagged in a post in case she wanted to go with the other photographer because their was no contract, and WineRock is no longer doing weddings. A lot of her "complaint" is hear say. There were never any messages regarding WineRock not doing her wedding until she found someone else.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
None of the communication has been hearsay as stated by WineRock. It was their post that stated they would no longer be doing any weddings AT ALL from the date of 2/27/20. It did not say that they would oblige any commitments they already had. Yes there was no contract, and all I'm asking for is my deposit back that was paid for a service not rendered due to the wording of their business post.
Again, no contract. WineRock NEVER told her that they would not be able to do her wedding. She found someone else. This is just getting ridiculous. She went out of her way to find someone else when WineRock NEVER told her they wouldn't do her wedding.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Until it gets resolved and I get my deposit back, I will keep rejecting this matter. Ridiculous or not, WineRock stated they would no longer do weddings. I did not go out of my way to find a replacement because I didn't want WineRock to do our photos. I found a replacement when she stated they were no longer do weddings. Simple as that. She made a statement, never made an addendum saying she would keep bookings already made, so I turned to Facebook to find a replacement, but only after she stated she was no longer doing weddings.
